Worried or hopeful that you might be pregnant? How can you tell what the very early signs of pregnancy are?

Congratulations, you're pregnant! Or are you? Chances are, if you're reading this article it's because you've got a sneaking suspicion that you might be having a baby, but it can be difficult to tell for sure. Whether you've been pregnant before or never experienced pregnancy at all in your life it, spotting the signs that you're going to have a baby isn't always easy. So how do you know that you're expecting? What are those tell-tale early symptoms of pregnancy that will confirm your suspicions once and for all? 

Early pregnancy signs

As with most things in life there isn't one particular sign that will tell you that you're pregnant. Instead there are a number of signals you might experience and some that will happen to your friends, but won't happen to you. For example, one of the signs of pregnancy could be that your sense of taste could change. Find out how. Then there are the changes to your body that might start to happen to signal pregnancy symptoms. You could also start to experience changes in your energy levels which might indicate that there's going to be a baby on the way.

How to check I'm really pregnant

Now you've been through your mental checklist and you're satisfied that you're experiencing one or all of the early pregnancy symptoms, you need proof. The easiest way to check whether those signs really do mean a baby is coming you way is the same as it's been for a number of years – do a pregnancy test. There are so many on the market, find out which test is the best for you? And just how accurate are pregnancy tests? Do you really need to buy more than one to be absolutely sure?

I'm pregnant. Now what?

If your test comes out positive, first you're going to experience a whole heap of emotions. Hopefully happiness, possibly sheer terror. But once you come to your senses there's a whole heap of mum-to-be stuff you're going to need to know straightaway. Essential things like what you should be eating and dos and don'ts that you're going to have to take into consideration now you have a baby growing inside you. You'll want to gen up all about early pregnancy. And you're bound to want to know more about the miracle that's going on inside your tiny bump right now. 'What if I'm on the pill when I got pregnant?'. If that's the case, find out what you need to do with your medication right now. And if you weren't trying to conceive and you're worried about how your lifestyle up till now could effect your baby we have all the answers.

Then there's the fun stuff. You're bound to start thinking about baby names and what you need to buy for your baby, getting yourself kitted out with some good maternity undies and how you want the baby's nursery to look

The next step

One important decision you'll need to make once you know you're pregnant is working out when to announce your news and, more importantly, how you're going to hide your growing bump until you're ready to give the game away.

Whatever signs and symptoms of pregnancy you may be experiencing, if your pregnancy is unexpected there's no need to panic. But once you've digested the news, you're bound to be eager for as much news as possible about what's going to be happening to you as your pregnancy progresses week by week and especially watching your unborn baby grow.
