Biblical baby names are topping the favourites list in America
Robert Pattinson and his vampire pals still have a firm hold on American mums, as names from the show stick in the top 10 for another year. Jacob and Isabella have kept their places as the number one babies names for boys and girls in the US. The 1000 most popular baby names list, complied by the Social Security Administration, has revealed that parents are turning to the Bible and popular culture for name inspiration.
Biblical names are especially popular in boys, with Jacob, Ethan, Michael, Jayden, William, Alexander, Noah, Daniel, Aiden and Anthony leading the way,
Neaveah, which is ‘heaven’ spelled backwards, has become a more popular girls name than ever before.
Names ending in the letter A seem a favourite for baby girls. After the number one spot going to Isabella, Sophia, Emma, Olivia, Ava, Emily, Abigail, Madison, Chloe and Mia were the 10 most popular.
