Most parents aren’t swayed by celebrity choices and choose conventional baby names instead
Boys and girls names are both traditional this year
The power of celebrity might not be a strong as we think, at least when it comes to inspiring baby names. The Office of National Statistics (ONS) top 100 lists have been released and show that most parents prefer traditional baby names to the more exotic choices of their favourite celebs.
Oliver was the top name for boys for the third year in a row while it’s female version Olivia also bagged first place on the girls’ list.
