Ice cream maker churns breast milk for an unusual flavour in top London ice cream parlour
Would you...?
A group of 15 mums have been recruited by a Covent Garden ice cream parlour to provide breast milk for a new type of ice cream. The end product, Baby Gaga, is a freshly churned combination of human breast milk, vanilla and lemon zest.
One of the mums, Victoria Hiley, explained to the Metro why she was happy to sell her breast milk. “There’s nothing more natural than fresh, free-range mothers’ milk in an ice cream,” she said.
“Some people will hear about it and go, yuck!” agreed the parlour’s manager, Matt O’Connor. “But actually it’s pure, organic and totally natural.”
“No one’s done anything interesting with ice cream in the last hundred years,” Matt added. “We wanted to completely reinvent it.
The £14 ice cream is on sale now at Icecreamists. Will you be running out to try some? Or would you not even feed your friends your own breast milk?
