This Mocha version of the Orbit Baby looks stunning and it's also available in black and white and bright red
Earlier this month, the biggest baby and child fair in the world hit Germany for four days. Kind + Jugend has been running for 50 years and it’s there that buggy manufacturers reveal next year’s snazzy new designs and cool innovations to make parents’ lives easier.
We peered at the newest designs protected behind glass and jumped at the chance of experimenting with the latest offerings from some of our favourite brands.
We’ve got your buggy fix here, but look out for our upcoming previews on the exciting things in the pipeline for everything from car seats to feeding gear.
Phil and Teds
Phil and Teds introduced us to the Hammerhead, which we’ve heard is going to be with us as early as next month!
Another one to watch for from these guys is the serious new 3-wheeler, the Sub4 jogger. A buggy with some bicycle-inspired features, this brilliant jogger will have fitness freaks in a frenzy!
Phil and Teds’ buggies also have a new buggy safety feature in the works. We can’t tell you more right now but you’re sure to wonder why no one’s thought of this before!
iCandy
The iCandy fruit bowl may already be overflowing but there’s a new addition that’s got us licking our lips – the Strawberry! As you’d expect from iCandy, it’s a stunning buggy and packed full of great features. They even have a patent pending on one super exciting parent-friendly innovation. The iCandy MEMORY system will make public-transport fans breathe a sigh of relief as the buggy pops back into its last used position when you unfold it.
Another juicy product on the iCandy stand was the 3-wheeler Peach! Available only as a single, it’s as beautiful as the original. Just to add to the excitement, a new special edition of the Peach is out soon and we’re betting it will turn heads.
Mountain Buggy
Mountain Buggy has got us very excited about its new collection! Buggies to look out for include the Duet, a side-by-side all-terrain option, and the +one, a tandem 3-wheeler.
Mountain Buggy didn’t just impressed us, it also won the fair’s “Moving & Travelling Baby Accessories” Innovation Award for its Free Rider, which is best described as a buggy board and toddler scooter in one.
Concord
Two new buggies are set to join the Concord ranage. The Concord Quix is an umbrella-fold lightweight while the Concord Core is travel system compatible and has fab suspension.
Jané
After all of this year’s buggy launches from Jané, we didn’t expect any more newbies, but Jané have done it again! Watch out for:
- Muum, a purse pleasing 4-wheeler
- TRider – new 3-wheeler based on 2010’s Rider buggy
Orbit Baby
You might not have heard of Orbit Baby but this US brand – that name drops Heidi Klum as a fan – is planning on making it to the UK next year. We certainly hope so, after being impressed with its seriously versatile features. Definitely one to watch.
Chicco
Chicco is really concentrating on style this season. As well as the White Label travel system and caramel leather Liteway Glam, there’s the i-move. It looks a little like the Mamas and Papas Mylo and will be with us sometime in 2011. We cannot wait to take it out for a spin!
Emmaljunga
Look out for Swedish buggy maker Emmaljunga’s latest offering towards the end of this year or start of 2011. It’s a new fixed-wheel buggy called the Edge. There’ll also be the Golden Check Special Edition, which will be limited to just 250 buggies.
Maxi-Cosi
We’re trying hard not to spill the beans about Maxi-Cosi’s big release for 2011! We’ve promised to stay hush-hush.
Graco
Graco’s 2011 newbie, the Fusio, has a lot to live up to after the Symbio. But we have a feeling it will!
Quinny
Fancy a new Quinny for Christmas? Word on the street is that the Senzz buggy will be launching just in time to make your list for Santa. And for fans of the Quinny Zapp, the new Zapp Xtra is already out with a clever storage idea that our sister site, MadeForMums, is currently testing out.
Hauck
New buggies aplenty for Hauck! Stay tuned for news on the Jive, Eagle, Citi and Viper.
Safety 1st
Next year, Safety 1st will release the Compa'City buggy. Suitable from birth, it has an umbrella fold and lightweight. We look forward to testing it out!
