Well-known for lightweight, great value pushchairs, Petite Star has pulled another surefire hit out of the bag.
The City Bug costs just £149.99, but for that you don’t just get a buggy, but a first-stage car seat, which clips into place on the stroller for the ultimate recession-busting travel system.

The most noticeable design feature on this cute buggy are its ‘antennae’ – the handles that have obviously inspired the name. They may not be height adjustable, but they do have comfy padding so you won’t feel uncomfortable as you push, and they give the buggy a funky, modern look.
Great features
For such a bargain price, the City Bug has lots of features.
The pushchair offers multiple recline positions, and is suitable from birth. The seat fabric is suitably padded for a comfortable ride, as are the straps so they won’t rub your baby’s skin.
It comes complete with a raincover, hood with viewing window, adjustable bumper bar, bottle holder and good-sized basket (although this will be pretty much inaccessible with the seat fully reclined, so don’t leave your phone in there while your baby’s asleep!).
With front wheels that are closer together than the rear wheels, it feels a little like a lightweight/three-wheeler hybrid, but it’s a good look and won’t impair the steering on the city streets for which it is intended. Folding it is a breeze and even if space is tight, either at home or in your car, you should be able to fit this without too many problems.
The car seat co-ordinates perfectly with the buggy and comes with a hood and headhugger to prevent your newborn’s head from lolling. It’s group 0+, so is suitable from birth to 13kg.
All in all, if you’re looking for a travel system, and can’t stretch your budget too far, this will make a great choice.
