The radio presenter announced the birth of his second son live on air
Chris Evans and his wife Natasha Shishmanian welcomed their second son this morning, reports the Daily Mail.
Natasha gave birth to Eli, who was conceived through IVF, this morning at 4.25am. Chris announced on Twitter their new arrival’s name, Eli Alfred Michael Evans, and called into his radio show to announce the news on air.
“Eli Alfred Michael Evans says hi! Can’t wait to join you all out there. A nice quiet day in and then I’ll be right with you. Xxx.” Chris tweeted.
Chris also revealed the last minute dash he had to make back from the Hay festival to get to the hospital for the birth.
“Was at Hay. No Longer. Back in the air. On the way to Baby Drop! Good luck with the show guys and well done to all the 500 Words finalists” he wrote.
Baby Eli will join the couple’s two-year-old son and comes after Natasha suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2010. Chris also has a 25-year-old daughter Jade from a previous relationship.
Chris revealed, in a piece for the Daily Mail on Sunday Live magazine, that he cancelled his trip to the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend in case of an arrival. And that he was keeping his fingers crossed the baby arrived before the bank holiday.
“I’m far too busy to have baby next weekend,” he said. “I’m off to Hay literary festival on Thursday, then it’s the Jubilee celebrations with live shows on both telly and radio. Any time before would be much more convenient,” he said.
The presenter also shared how his son Noah reacted to the news that he was going to have a brother.
“He got it straight away and became excited immediately,” he said. “‘Hello!’ he’d shout at Tash’s blossoming belly. ‘Come out! We know you’re in there!’”
Congratulations Chris and Natasha! Here at TB HQ we hope they manage to get some family time amongst the busy Jubilee celebrations.
