Who's the daddy?
Elton John has announced that his baby with partner David Furnish will undergo a DNA test to determine which of the couple is his biological dad. But the 64-year-old star has stressed that the result is unimportant to the family and is entirely for baby Zachary’s medical records.
“Zach will have to know for his medical records,” Elton explained. “If it’s David I’d be very proud. It wouldn’t matter to me and vice versa.”
While their nuclear family is doing well, there’s a rift between Elton and his mum, Sheila Fareborther – Zach’s grandma. The 86-year-old told The Sun, “He has cut me off completely.” When asked if she wanted to meet baby Zach she added, “I have no particular interest really. You will have to ask them about that.”
Elton’s spokesperson insinuated Sheila’s age and frailty could be responsible for the misunderstanding. “I have never had a conversation with him about whether he talks to his mother,” the spokesperson said. “She is a lovely lady but she is 86 and she is frail and old.”
