Former Liberty X singer-turned-personal-trainer hits back at critics who say she's worried about losing her figure
Michelle tweeted this joke pic of her wearing a baby pad. (Her real bump's much smaller!)
Former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton admitted yesterday that she's found it hard to accept her blossoming pregnancy shape.
"The first few months have been tough. It is difficult to lose control of your body," she told Lorraine host Carol Vorderman, who's standing in for Lorraine Kelly.
"You do have to get over that mindset of 'OK, it's not me, it's fat for the baby and the baby needs this' but it takes some getting used to," she admitted.
Michelle, who's four-and-a-half months pregnant with her first baby and is now a qualified personal trainer, also said she's planning to continue exercising throughout her pregnancy.
After her TV appearance, she took to Twitter to defend herself following internet comments that she's vain and worried about losing her figure.
"I went on the show 2 talk about staying healthy & active in pregnancy, NOT my concern on putting on weight. in fact, i love my new huge boobs & butt," she tweeted.
The day before she sparked another Twitter debate after tweeting that she was eating Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, with some people claiming nuts aren't safe during pregnancy, harking back to out-of-date suggestions that nuts can cause unborn babies to develop allergies. But government advice on the subject has changed recently, so Michelle's perfectly fine to be a crunchy nut.
Michelle correctly told her followers "Yes you can eat nuts while pregnant- unless u are allergic or allergies run in your family! Nuts are great for you!x"
