Baby Archie has made an amazing recovery
A premature baby has made a miraculous recovery after being born at 25 weeks and weighing just 1lb 9oz.
Baby Archie was born in January suffering from lung disease, a hole in his heart and a brain haemorrhage, reports This is Cornwall.
“There were days we were taken to one side by the doctors and told to prepare for the worst,” said Abbi Weston, Archie’s mum.
But after four months of visiting their son in hospital, his parents have been told they can take him home.
“Overnight he turned a corner and was like a new baby,” dad Anthony Weston said. “It was a miracle.”
“It didn’t feel real. I couldn’t allow myself to believe it. It was amazing. We are just overwhelmed,” said Abbi from Cornwall.
Archie now weighs 8lb 6oz. His weak lungs mean he will be on oxygen for a year for, but he has defied the odds to make a miraculous recovery.
“We are so happy and relieved,” Abbi said.
