Mariah's been following fellow celeb Celine Dion's fertility advise

It’s no wonder Mariah Carey kept shtum about her pregnancy for so long. The celebrity mum-to-be has revealed the great lengths she went to in conceiving her first child with husband Nick Cannon.

“I put my body through like a whole kind of cleansing kind of situation and prepared,” Mariah explained. She also underwent hormone treatment combined with acupuncture on the advice of Celine Dion.

“I did end up being on progesterone like every month to go through the cycles – especially after going through the operations and stuff,” she continued. “It sort of helps seal the pregnancy, but it also bloats you, it also puts on weight. So then everybody was like, ‘Oh the weight gain, she’s definitely pregnant!’”

Fellow celebrity singer, Celine Dion, who gave birth to twins last week after a long struggle with infertility, advised acupuncture.

“Celine Dion was talking about acupuncture. I never thought of it with regards to the trying to conceive situation. I was getting acupuncture like once a day at least,” the singer said.
