Which couple will be first to have a royal baby?
Mike Tindall has revealed that he and wife Zara Phillips want to have a family and give the Queen a great-grandchild, reports The Mirror.
England Rugby ace Mike, 33, and eventing champion Zara, 30, both have busy schedules with their sporting careers but Mike has revealed they do have plans to have a baby soon.
“Obviously we’re going to have a family. But it’s about timing,” Mike explained at the launch of his new charity Rugby For Heroes.
“I want to play for another two years, so it’s just where we find the balance in that. I wouldn’t say we’ll wait, we’ll try and find a window,” he said.
“There is definitely a family in the future but it’s hard at the moment with work, as it is for a lot of people out there,” Mike said.
In other royal baby news this week, it’s been revealed that Prince William and Kate’s future first-born child would take the throne whether the couple has a boy or a girl.
The Queen confirmed in her speech last week that the Government is to introduce a Bill, which will overhaul the laws of Royal succession. This means the crown will no longer pass to the eldest son. Instead, the eldest child will be crowned, whether it is a girl or a boy.
“My Government will continue to work with the 15 other Commonwealth Realms to take forward reform of the rules governing succession to the Crown,” the Queen said in her speech.
It’s one year since we watched Wills and Kate tying the knot, and 9 months since Mike and Zara said “I do”, so here at TB HQ we’ve got royal baby fever!
