Conservative leader David Cameron surprises all with revelation that he and his wife are expecting their fourth baby
Samantha Cameron, wife of Conservative leader and Prime Minister contender David Cameron, has revealed she's three months pregnant with their fourth child.
A spokesperson for the Tory party announced that both David and Samantha were "completely thrilled" about the pregnancy. The news comes just over a year after the sad death of their eldest son, Ivan, who had cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown and wife Sarah were said to be "very pleased" to hear the news and a spokesperson for Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader sent a message of congratulations.
If David Cameron is successful in May in his bid to become the next Prime Minister, it will continue the recent pattern for PMs to have young children at No 10. Gordon Brown's boys, John and James, are 6 and 3, while Tony Blair's son Leo was the first baby to be born to a serving PM for 150 years in May 2000.
