Tina's not letting her age put her off IVF
Actress Tina Malone, who stars as drug-dealing Mimi Maguire on Channel 4’s hit show Shameless, has revealed her plans to try for a baby.
The 48-year-old, who married personal trainer Paul Chase two years ago, is hoping IVF will help the couple have a child together. Paul, who is 20 years Tina’s junior, has helped her lose a whopping 9st 10lbs since they met at fat camp.
Her weight loss has been a key part of Tina’s preparations for IVF, as being too heavy reduces the chances of success.
“I met Paul when I was huge at fat camp, and I had my gastric band two years this March. I’m a size 12 now, and I was a size 28!”
Tina told Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield about her plans to get pregnant on This Morning, saying, “I start next month, so fingers crossed!
“If it doesn’t happen I have a daughter. My daughter Danielle is an actress in Hollyoaks, and if it doesn’t happen we’ll get another dog! But it would be nice to have a child together.”
