Chantelle Houghton feared she could be infertile after years of eating disorders
Excited Chantelle Houghton has revealed she’s unexpectedly pregnant. The reality TV star and boyfriend Alex Reid conceived naturally, just days before they planned to begin IVF treatment.
“Oh my God! I’m Pregnant! Let me through-I’m going to be the yummiest mummy there is,” she told OK! Magazine.
“The thought of conceiving naturally had gone out of my mind completely,” said Chantelle, who was told she may have trouble getting pregnant after suffering with eating disorders.
Chantelle is 11-weeks-pregnant and has already had her first scan, describing it as a ‘magical’ experience.
The couples are looking forward to finding out the baby’s sex but whether she has a boy or a girl is not important to her. “We’re so blessed to be having a baby. I really don’t mind.
“We did joke that a little girl would come out with blonde hair extensions and a boy coming out like a cage fighter!”
Chantelle also told the magazine that she is a nervous first-time mum.
“I’m having more scans than I’d usually have-not because I need to, just because I want to for my own peace of mind, I don’t care how much it costs me, I just want to everything is alright,” she said.
She added that her miracle pregnancy news has made her relationship with Alex Reid ‘stronger than ever.’
“We’ve been together nearly nine months but it just feels so right. We don’t argue. There are no issues. Me and Alex are just like kids, two peas in a pod.”
