Victoria's worn out, just like all new mums
Mum-of-four Victoria Beckham has put her extra pouty appearance at New York Fashion Week down to the simple fact that she’s a working mum and she’s exhausted.
Although Victoria’s never been one to smile for the papps, the singer-turned-designer has looked particularly downbeat of late. Even more so than when she'd just given birth to daughter Harper and couldn't hold her because of a slipped disc.
“I’m not going to lie about it, I’m tired,” Victoria, 37, admitted to the Sunday Mirror. “I’m really tired but I’m also very happy with my life. I’m basically just like any woman who’s working and has lots of children – it’s tough.”
New mum Victoria has been planning her Autumn/Winter 2012 collection for New York Fashion Week while caring for her daughter Harper, 7-months. As well as looking after sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 9 and Cruz, 6.
“I’m up with the baby as all mums are and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she insisted. “There’s not a team of people doing it for me.”
Victoria’s office is in London and her home is in LA, so the time difference meant she had to make plenty of late-night phone calls to get her collection ready in time.
“I’m not getting much sleep at all,” Victoria revealed. “Harper’s not sleeping great and I’ve been taking Skype business calls all throughout the night too because of the collections.
“I’m spending ludicrous amounts of time in my dressing gown.”
But it’s not all stressful for this super stylish ex-Spice Girl. She clearly loved welcoming a little girl into the Beckham brood, after allegedly changing her diet during pregnancy to increase the chance of having a daughter.
“Harper just loves fashion,” a proud Victoria said. “She sat through all the presentations in New York and she just cooed. I was so proud. Finally there's someone in my house who likes fashion more than premiership football. Result.”
It’s OK, Vic. London Fashion’s Week’s nearly over, so you can soon have a lie in (if Harper lets you…)
