Mrs Lily Cooper hunts for Ethel’s baby essentials in her local Mothercare – and has an awkward moment in the nappy aisle

Anyone got a headrest for a "rocker thingy"?

Lily Allen has paid a visit to her local Mothercare to pick up baby supplies. The retired popstar, who’s notably refused to give us even the tiniest glance of 4-month-old baby Ethel Mary, tweeted about her not-entirely-successful shopping experience.

“One of my songs is playing in mothercare #awkward #inthenappyaisle,” Lily said. We can just imagine the look on the faces of fellow shoppers and staff!

Mothercare hopped straight on Twitter to check Lily was well looked after, tweeting, “haha we didn’t do it on purpose we promise! Did you find what you were looking for? M x”

But unfortunately the response from the Smile singer wasn’t particularly favourable. “No actually, I need mits and you had none in stock. Also a sort of pillow / headrest for the rocker thingy.”

Mothercare seemed to know what Lily was talking about at least, advising her that items can be ordered to store if they’re not in stock. Good to know!
