The photos are in, the votes are cast - here and across the sea in Sweden - and finally we now have the winners of our summer-long Baby
We invited intrepid families to enter our picture competition, sending us their fab photos from holidays, trips and days out, where their baby was on the go in a BabyBjorn carrier. Up for grabs as first prize was a holiday break in Stockholm.
Thanks to everyone who entered, and who got into the spirit of the occasion, whether they were on a day out, or thousands of miles from
As well as the head honchos at BabyBjorn, over there in Sweden, we also invited travel writer Matthew Collins to help us judge the competition.
Matthew spent ten years as a roving reporter on BBC1's Travel Show, before giving it up to take his young sons across America in a camper van. Since then he has raised the boys as a single dad and continued to celebrate the notion that having a family doesn't mean your holidays have to suddenly get boring and unadventurous.
Although we had many wonderful entries, we loved the feel of holiday sun about Deshini Chetty's entry: 'Alexander and daddy in Santorini,
Greece'. The judges said: 'This picture exudes the warmth and fun of travel, and the idea that the family have been clambering around the town's steps, something you couldn’t do with a buggy!’
Deshini and her family win a holiday in Stockholm plus BabyBjorn goodies.
Our runners up
A bundle of BabyBjorn goodies go to each of our runners up.
Erica Cook's wonderful picture with her son Matthew and the Indian Ocean behind them is not only scenic, but a great example of how a
carrier means your baby's position can echo yours. The judges said: ‘Mum's posture reflects that of her baby, reminding you of the feeling of travelling together with the carrier, even on rocks by the coast.’
Jane Toussaint also did well, with 'Ella being carried by her dad on a walk in the Cotswolds at New Year'. The judges said: ‘Baby and
Dad all wrapped up, a comical picture that captures the fun of being out with baby… and the fact that babies always manage to be boss!’
