Over the past few weeks my son liam who is 11 months old has started pumping loads, really loud (he finds it very funny) sometimes its hard to tell if its daddy or baby pumping.

He is constantly pumping and each one is so loud but it doesnt seem to be causing him any distress. but since hes just started doing it and being a first time mam im convinced i should phone the health visitor and ask..

any ideas? is it normal?

Hi Vicky

I have a 17 month old son, and all i can say is like father like son!! seriously vicky dont worry, my little man has the loudest pumps and sometimes it really is unbelievable that it can come from such a little body!

it seemed to settle down a bit, but at the end of the day far better he can get the wind out than have it stuck inside giving him tumy ache! if you are at all concerned then defo speak to your hv just to put your mind at rest, but i think it sounds like typical male behaviour!!

Hope this helps you some? xx

Hi Vicky my 9 month old little girl can pump for england too she did one so loud and stinky on the us today I thought she'd pooped ut no just trump!! lol

I think it is because if an adult needs to trump they will at least try to control it a bit (well unless you're a man! lol) but a baby just feels the urge and pushes it out to great comey effect lol! its amazing how smaller bottom can make such loud noises but I guess size isn't everything.

Im sure he's fine especially if it is causing him no pain or discomfort. he'll learn as he ges older to not do it quite so loudly!!

hiya vicky

my daughter is only 6 months and she trumps constantly and some can be very stinky but like everyone elses says better out then in and giving them a stomach ache.

When u consider all the vegies they eat too it kinda makes sense that they trump so much lol
