Hi everyone, I've just found out that I'm pregnant again (mini-pill suprise) with my second, due on July 20th.

I'm 29 and live in the south east with my one-year-old daughter and partner, JD.

I'm looking forward to hearing from other mums due in July and maybe sharing pains and stories along the way.

So far I have had no morning sickness. Hope it stays that way.

Hi Anna, congratulations on your second pregnancy! Have you tried to explain it to your daughter yet?
30/11/2005 at 10:57
Thanks Pink, no I only took the test yesterday!

Are you due in July too?
30/11/2005 at 11:14
No i'm not due in July but wanted to say congradulations to you as I was on the forum so thought i'd bombard the July mum's club - sorry! When do you think you'll try and explain things to your daughter? She probably won't understand hey?

Congratulations Anna! I hope all goes well for you. My son is 2 now and we've tried to explain it to him but he can't quite come to grips with the idea that there is a baby in mummy's tummy. He asked "Where's baby?" when I told him baby was in mummy's tummy he said "Mmmmmmm" and licked his lips! (His way of asking if it tasted nice!)
Anyway, once again, congratulations and keep us posted!

Thanks Ginny! That's so sweet! what on earth did you say?? I think you're at least 2 months ahead of me, did you tell him straight away?

Pink, no, she won't understand for a long time yet, she's only just one. I will involve her though and explain it and hopefully she'll understand more when the time comes.

If you know any July Mums then send them in this direction! I'm probably a bit quick off the mark with finding out about the pregnancy but would love to hear from others at a similar stage.

Hi Anna,

I'm due 12th July with my second. Maisie my daughter is 14 months and has no idea at all when we speak about "Bubs in mummy's tummy". I feel exactly the same about Maisie, I'm involving her in everything we do, even at antenatal appointments, my midwife includes her, which is great. We're planning a home birth, which is quite exciting. I want Maisie to be introduced to her new brother or sister within minutes of the birth (fingers crossed).

Hi I'm a newbie and due 21st July. Anyone else had any symptoms of stress they can help me with?

Thanks

Hi Emma and Gemma, and welcome to the club!
Nice to be joined by a couple of others.

Gemma (almost my due date twin!), what exactly is it you mean by symptoms of stress? Are you getting stressed out by the idea of a baby or is work provbing problematic?

Emma, I'm thinking about a home birth too. Did you have any problems persuading the mw or did they agree straight away?

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your reply. I am stressed out at work unfortunately. Everyday is different but especially so lately.

I am having a home birth too, cross fingers and my midwife thought it was wonderful! Are you going to find ou the sex of your baby and are you showing yet? I have a teeny bump and am out of my favourite jeans- boohooo!

Hi Gemma, sorry to hear that work is such a pain, have you told them about the baby yet or are you keeping it quiet for a while longer?

I'm not really showing yet, but I do look a bit fat around the middle and clothes are getting a little tight. Wouldn't mind having a nice little bump to start showing off though!

We haven't decided whether or not to find out yet, still have a bit of time.

Have you lot told anyone yet? We've only told the family and a couple of friends, I'm still holding off on telling them at work, although I think my boss suspects.

Although I'm not a "July Mum" (can I join as an honorary member as I'm due 13 June & I don't know anyone else due in June?!) I thought I might as well add my tuppence worth.
The bumps will come before you know it! I'm 21+2 & already I miss my feet! I can only see them when I sit down (which is rare as I have a 2-yr-old boy!) Everything seems to have a mind of its own these days. I'm already out of all my pre-pregnancy clothes (the between pregnancy clothes I call them as I wasn't back in my pre-pregnancy clothes after having my son!) Anyway, I'm back in my big old maternity clothes again.
I can't wait for my next scan as we've decided to find out what we're having. We found out with LP and would like to know this time too. I have a gut feeling, but I'm usually wrong about these things so I'm not telling anyone until after the scan when I can tell them I was right, even if I'm wrong.
I toyed with the idea of a home birth but decided, in the end, that I wouldn't be comfortable with that idea. I was a special care baby and spent the first 2 weeks of my life in the SCBU so I suppose I would be happier being in hospital with facilities just in case. I'm not being pessamistic (my keyboard can't spell!)but it's personal choice. I always feel that it's best to do whatever you think will make you more comfortable when the time comes.
That's my tuppence worth.

HI Ginny,

Of Course you can join- Anyone is welcome as we all need the support we can get!

Anna- I have told everyone I meet that I am pregnant once I hit the 12 weeks mark as I was having difficulty explaining sickness etc and generally being useless! It has made a lot easier on me at work as i get the support needed from the right people.

My bump seems to expand everyday, I still just look tubby but I think its my little bump and I love it. Now its just waiting to fell the little blighter- 16 weeks today.

Has anyone gone off meat? I cant stand the stuff and just want to eat pineapple and fruit.....

HI Ginny, good to see they've welcomed you into the July mum's club, it still might be worth starting a June thread to see if you can flush any June mums out, I'm sure we have some lurking around.

Hi first time member on this site, I'm pregnant with twins!!! First pregnancy!! They are due 19th July but I have been told that it is unlikely that I will go the 40 weeks to this date! Would be nice to hear from anyone else out there who is pregnant with twins?

Hi everyone!

Gemma I know what you mean about stress! I feel more anxious then stressed, even the smallest thing, becomes the biggest worry. I suffered post natal depression after maisie, and I think thats playing on my mind a bit. Thankfully, most people understand when I'm having one of my hormonal days!!! Oh, well, such is life!!!!

My bump is getting extremely big, I'm in maternity clothes already!! I put on 4 and a half stone with Maisie........water retention, obviously! But I lost it all and more within 7 months, so I know it can be done!!!!

Anna, my midwife was the one who encouraged me to go for a home birth. I had a relatively quick labour for Maisie so she thought it would probably be better all round if I went for a homebirth. Dan (my otherhalf), is a little apprehensive, but is looking forward to it being more intimate, and also including Maisie in the new baby's first minutes.......makes me want to cry thinking about it!!!! Told you I was emotional!!!

Speak to you all soon, Emma xx

Gemma, I only haven't told people at work because it's a little close to the last baby... But the time is drawing near when the advantages of telling will outweigh the disadvantages (and the embarrassment). Besides which I don't think I can hide it all that much longer. Someone at work on Friday told me I was looking very 'well' but said it in a way that left me in no doubt that 'well' meant 'well fed'!

I'm managing to control work stress by reminding myself that no project is more important than my baby's well-being. I think it's actually doing me a lot of good as I take more time and think about how I react to things more when I don't like what's happening.

Emma, it sounds like the perfect backgound to a homebirth. My husband is also the one with the biggest worries on a HB too, a combination of worrying about the possibility of needing to transfer to hospital and worry over the neighbours!

Hi everybody!

I'm new & have just joined up to this site! I'm 39 (I know ancient!) we have a girl aged 13 (going on 20!) and a boy aged nearly 11 (going on 6!) and a little surprise on the way (have got up off the floor now!!!) our due date is the end of July and cannot wait (must be nuts!!) have forgotten what its like to have a little one around! Would be great to hear from anyone in the same boat??? Preg is going great no probs (fingers crossed!) but seem to have the usual buggy Dilema!
I have narrowed search to two -the Mircralite (not brill reviews)and Maclaren Techo Classic (great reviews!) - have tried all the other trendy system and they are either too big/heavy (also having had two previous kiddies - def would like a lightweight one!I was wondering whether anyone has any information about these two buggies - have recently been been to John Lewis and road tested some buggies - saw loads of women with the Maclaren!

Denise nearly 22wks preg and lovin it!

Hello all I am pregnant for the first time and due on 21st July. I am 31 and self employed so unfortunately no financial safety net under me. My job is very labour intensive carrying a lot of equipment and am having to stop work now as I feel very vulnerable to pulls, trips and general physical mishaps. Is there anyone else out there who is in similar position?
Pregnancy is enjoyable though and i am fascinated with the changes going on in my body just wish i could find my kind of clothes in maternity sizes!
