Hi Amoir,
Please don't panic you are not alone!! it is something that happens to everyone even if they're on their 10th baby Im sure!! it's better you are feeling like this now than when you go into labour.
The tips I would give that really helped me when I had my DD a year ago. My birth story is in the birth story thread so I won't go through the whole thing lol!! okay....... Make sure you have your hospital bag packed I took one for me one for baby. take thing that will make you feel comfortable it took a long time for me to get used to thinking that it was MY birth not the hospitals and there were very few things that they wouldn't allow. they are going to help you not punish you for wanting your own music or to be left alone what ever you want the MW willl try and accomodate it. I took aromotherapy oils that are good for pain relief and relaxation lavendar and neroli oil. I just put a few drops on a tissue and had it between gas and air!
eat and drink planty even when you're in labour it helps you keep your strength up and it is going to sound silly but relax. if you are tense your body will be and your contractions will be battling against your tense muscles. breath deeply close you eyes and during labour visulise your self somewhere else or on a beach or whatever makes you happy and relaxed, I got through 3 days of very slow labour doing this at home!
then when you get into the later stages (the fun bit!!) repeat over and over in your head or outloud if you need to no one will care, I can do this, only I can do this. cause at the end of it all take away the hospital the monitors the husband/partner, no one else can do it for you, and your body is designed for this one moment if a woman in a mud hut can do it so can you!!! it is a tempory thing and one way or another that baby is coming out!!! the easiest way is to relax and let your body tell you what to do, spend a few minutes each day between now and the big day lying on the bed or sofa and meditating on the birth go through everything hoew you'd like it to go, it will prepare you fo trying to relax during labour and you'll be able to relax more quickly.
I really didn't find the pain that bad, it wasn't the worst pain Id ever had and there is no pain inbetween contractions and when they are straight after each other the realease of pushing is immense and really quite liverating, you don't often get to moan like that lol!!!
speak to your mw and she might be able to arrange a visit to the ward although alot have stopped them due to infection but it varies from hospital to hospital, they'll do everything they can to make you feel at ease.
good luck hunny it will be fine and you will have your gorgeous baby in your arms and everything will be a distant memory!!! xxxx
