Hi Charlotte, I have the same problem deciding on a double pushchair. I'm also 35 weeks and have an 18 month old. I want something light which doesn't take up much space in the car but also need one which I won't have trouble getting through doorways or round busy shop aisles! I've been looking for months now and can't find exactly what I want. I ruled out a phil & ted as they look like you've just shoved the baby in a shopping basket! Also a friend of mine had one - she loved it, but had to buy another double when her youngest was a year old as he wanted to be able to see what was going on. I'm currently looking at the Combi Caterpillar Tandem which is super light, but I can't find any reviews on it anywhere, nor can I find it in any shop. I'm rapidly running out of time and still have no clue as to what to get. Good luck with your search :o)

Me too! My eldest has just turned 2 and I am due in 4 weeks....
I am looking at the Marco Sky longhorn (it has adjustable height handles) as it looks like it is the same width as a single, but not as long as some tandems. I can only find it here so I can't do a cost comparison, which is why I'm hesitating.

Anyone got any feedback on double pushchairs?? We could probably do with some!!

Hi I have just bought the Othello tandem from Jusonne uk, its the same as the marco but better priced and you get all the accessories with it, you get cosytoes, 2 changing bags and raincover, front apron and 2 cotton seat liners.. Its great is super light has adjustable handles and is avaliable in much nicer colours. I found them on ebay and the feedback was gret for them ,then went on there website www.jusonne.co.uk
Sorry to go on but its just the greatist tandem ive every seen!
Good luck to anyone still looking..

Hi,
I have a 2 year old and a 10 month old and currently looking for a new twin pushchair but not to pricey as my 2 year old shouldn't use it for long. I am currently using the cosatto duet lite and it is a great pushchair but even my husband stuggles to push it. It is so heavy! I have been searching for months but can't find a decent one under £300. I know the Jane power twin would be ideal but I really don't want to spend that much. I have been looking at the Hauck Roadster Duo. Any opinions on it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 Hi all
I am a self confessed Pram-a-holic! To date I have owned 10 !! I have 2 tots, Jacob (very big 2 and a half year old) and Benjamin, who is almost 11 months.
I started off with a side by side double- the Maclaren Twin Techno, which i found Fantastic, however, I have recently upgraded to the Phil & Teds sport, for the one reason that when baby Benjamin started to wave his limbs about- and grab at things- Jacob started screaming at him, pinching him, taking his toys/biscuits/blanket whenever Ben even brushed him!
It was ridiculous! But the buggy was so practical in the first few months with both of them being able to lie down to nap, and because it was designed to fit through doorways i had no problems what so ever really, i could get it on buses, and the UV sunhoods where a godsend on holiday earlier in the year.
Now, i know that Phil & Ted's recommend that the baby goes in the behind seat when they are old enough to sit up- i thought that a ridiculous notion, and now they are both heavy enough, Benjamin sits in the front, and Jacob can climb in and out of the back seat as he wishes as he walks almost all the time. It also means if Ben falls asleep I can whip Jacob's seat off and lay Ben down, and put jacob's seat on top. The Phil & ted's adavntages are that is really is compact, and not having the extra length of a traditional tandem really makes a difference, I also love that fact that when jacob starts nursery It is basically just a single pushchair, meaning a lot more flexibility in the long run.
Anyway, I must go !
My message is- as they get bigger you may change pushchair requirements! Also- invest in a buggy board- they're fab!

Hi,
I always felt that with a phil & ted the child in the bottom looks as if they may as well be in the shopping basket. I have no doubt that it's a great buggy but it is a tad expensive.
I am bit like yourself I to am a pram-a-holic and have a big 2 year old son Lachlan and a 10 month old daughter Taylor. My husband disagreed with us getting a double buggy in the first place he said we did't need one but I thought Lachlan just wasn't ready to walk everywhere plus he still has a sleep during the day but I eventually won that battle and purchased a mothercare urban detour side by side. It was a brilliant buggy but couldn't get in any door ways or round any shops, so having then won another battle with my husband I then bought the cosatto duet lite and I cannot push it. My 2 year old is far to heavy! My husband is putting his foot down and saying NO MORE! but I am consantly looking for the perfect double buggy at a decent price and I must say I am struggling!

 Hi again :o)
It is expensive, and to be honest, I regretted not considering one when I pregnant with Benjamin, thus saving me the extra expense of trying to find the buggy to fit around their differing needs. However, the expense is balanced out if you have bought it as a single pushchair with your first child from newborn, and then add on the doubles kit (the extra seat) when baby number 2 comes along. Especially as most people spend £250+ on a pram/travel system for just one child!
It'll certainly be one I keep long after the boys have outgrown it, I would love more children, but not just yet (I had Jacob when I was 18, and Benjamin at 19) so I have plenty of child bearing years left, and I certainly can't fault it. - Of course in ten years time I'm sure there will be another fabtastic pram I will be itching to have, much to their father's dismay!!
I totally sympathise with not being able to find one at a decent price- i considered the duet lite- but as you have discovered- with a 2 year old in the front the last thing it is is 'lite' !!
I am currently selling all my extra pushchairs and buggies on ebay to compensate for buying the Phil & teds!!!
I wish you luck in your search, it's definately not an easy one! For short trips out I have found my buggy board indespensible- I don't drive, so for just hopping on the bus or over to the local shop or a friend's house it's great. Just don't wander away from the buggy when browsing in the shops- I forgot Jacob could just get off it- and he was pulling bra's off the hooks exclaiming Boobies! in M&S faster than you can say 'embarassing' the first time!

I have heard good things about the Jane Powertwin pushchairs- the advantage being of course- AIR FILLED TYRES! I Love air tyres, they make light work of the combined 3.5 stone weight of my boys! Picking one up second hand will prove cheaper- they're certainly built to last, and seat covers can easily be removed for freshening up!

hi well got my jane powertwin now love it but no baby yet to test drive with so soon as i'll let u know love the feel of it without kids in lol..

Hi,

Hi i has a maclaren side by side double and it was lovely and lite, i dont drive so i use public transport and it was fine to fit on a bus and train, and it fitted through all doors, my little un was 18 months when i had my second and they were both comfy, it was £199.00 aswell so not overly expensive.

Hi, anyone who has the othello tandem, could you tell me how low the handles go as i'm quite small and need it at least to be 105cm Thanks

My wife Joanne is 33 wks pregnant with twins. I did a lot of research into twin buggies and looked at all the pro and cons. We narrowed it down to the Baby Jogger City Double. The reasoning behind this was the weight and also the ease of folding. Has anyone had any experience of this stroller. Comments would be greatly appreciated as time is ticking.....

I currently have a Phil & Teds, after numerous double buggies I'm yet to find one I'm happy with! My hubbie dispairs and won't even discuss buggies anymore! I must have had every double going! The Phil & Teds is great but the down sides for me are, the cosytoes only fits on the top seat, no basket for your shopping and I find whoever is on the bottom kicks off plus Livvy (my 11 month old) daughter caught her fingers in the wheele. If I put William on the bottom he hates it. He is 2.5 and has ASD plus hypotonia which means he has weak muscles and constantly falls over so he will need to be in a buggy for a while yet. Its great that you can just take the bottom seat off and then use it as a single buggy which is what I do when Will is at nursery and it means you don't have to have 2 buggies in your boot which used to drive me mad! but I'm struggling with it for the school run as there is a lot of bending down and fiddling about. It is good for walks if one of them doesn't mind being in the bottom and for the shops as its as wide as a single buggy but only if you don't want to buy much. People are raving about the i candy pear which is about to come out I belive might be worth looking at that? Kim x

when i had my twins i had a Maclaren Twin Traveller and i have had it 4 years and its still going strong mind you the twins have been out of it for about 11 months now but i loved it i could get it through single doors and i could also get it on the bus no problem the only bad thing about it was when they get to the age of 3 they dont really fit in it anymore with it been slim line i was also able to fit a buggy board to it as my 1st child was only 21 months old when the twins were born it cost me 200 pounds back in 2003

Have you seen the Adventure Buggy? http://www.abcbuggy.co.nz You can choose a single buggy (3-wheeler style) and add a toddler seat to the top (now reclinable, so could even do for a baby). Check out their website. I have had my single, with toddler seat and attached a buggy board so that I can take all 3 of mine out (4 and a half/2 and a half and six months) for 3 years and really like it. It is quite heavy - the one drawback - but I understand that the new model is lighter. Would love to know what you think of it, once you have checked out the website.

Hi Janet, Can I just say that after looking at the website that is the most amazing buggy I have ever seen!!! I am so for one!!! My son is 2 and a half and my daughter is 1 and a half and although he likes to walk sometimes I really like going long walks and he just isn't ready for that so this is perfecy! Just have to convince my husband now as its quite expensive. Ha! ( I think it will be well worth it) I was going to buy my daughter a new single buggy anyway and I want this one! Just a quick couple of questions - Is it your 2 and half year old that sits in the toddler seat? What age do you think it can be used up to? and what stops it from tipping back? Thanks

Lorraine, Sorry about delay getting back to you. The top seat is really well balanced - basically it sits over the middle of the buggy - my 2 and half year old loves sitting up there. My oldest still used it occassionally last year, but she is now too tall/heavy. I don't feel I can carry her so much now, so I don't put her in it. However I have just ordered the reclining seat so that either Michael (the 6 month old) or Beatrice (2 and a half) can use the top seat. I am just waiting for that to arrive and will let you know how I get on. You can email the UK contact, she will arrange for you to talk to the designer/owners of the company and they will go over any questions you have. They also do a bar for the front wheel which can turn it into a 4-wheeler, but to be honest, I have not had any problems with it. I can't say enough how much I like this buggy - and it is very man friendly as well!
