Hi,

Quiet on here lately!

Hope everyone is OK. I planned on putting Oliver in his own room this weekend but my OH didn't do the bits I asked (his room still has a little finishing touches req!) and he is now in bed but still in our room. He's been in his cot for a few weeks now so I think he'll be OK.......I won't be but he will!!!

Allison - how did Ava sleep?

Lou -  are you feeling OK hun? I think getting out and about will make you feel a little better too.

How is everyone elses little ones?

My in-laws are driving me mad. Well, MIL. She seems to watch me with Oliver as if she is judging my every move. She's always been the same but it's annoying me soooo much now. When I feed Oliver, I burp him and then she takes him off me and trys to burp him more. WTF?! I wouldn't mind but she sees him once a week and thats only because we go to her house. Might stop going.

All in all though, Oliver is such a happy little baby. He is always talking, well you know what I mean, and he smiles constantly at everything and everyone. He has his 2nd set of jabs on Thurs - dreading it!

Just about to go watch Cloverfield. OH's choice - we watched my choice earlier, Drillbit Taylor - very funny.

Anyways, will pop back on soon!

Morning all,

hope everyone has a good weekend.

Karen - my hair is falling out loads. Thought it was just me, gonna end up bald soon. We're getting a new kitchen fitted at the moment as well. Being done bit by bit as fil is doing it when he's not at work, can't wait til it's all done.

Ava - shannon's still small as well, last time we had her weighed she was 11lb 30z. She's starting to eat more now tho, she's having about 25oz's a day.

Shannon had her jabs on thurday, she was such a good girl, she didn't flinch or cry once. Couln't believe it.

Lou - how you doing? Anymore interference from in laws?

Katie - my MIL is the biggest pain, she was ok before shannon came along but now she's a nightmare. Shannon was feeling ill last week and she wouldn't stop crying. MIL was holding her and trying to stop her crying but it wasn't working, tried getting her to give her to me but would she? course not, obviously she knows best. Poor little thing wanted her mum.

Talking about shannon being ill - she was sick at least twice most days last week, we stopped giving her 2 of her medicine's to see if that helped and now she hasn't been sick for a few days. Don't see how medicine to stop her being sick can make her worse. Anyway.... hope everyone has a good day.

Speak soon

Morning Ladies

Eva has really taken to sleeping in her own room.  She likes to go to bed around 8.30pm and hasnt been waking until 2.00am then 5.30/6.00am for feeds.  She has been waking me every morning with her singing and shouting at around 8.00am.  Dont think my OH believed me when I told him that she sings in the morning, its really funny!

Lou - I think getting out the house definately makes a difference to my moods.  I've been trying to get out the house every day, even just walking round the block.  It gives you something more to look at than the 4 walls!

There must be something about inlaws at the moment.  OH's Mum has been asking what is going to be happening with childcare when I go back to work, she has offered to look after Eva for a day or so, but they have a big dog which I wouldnt trust as far as I could throw it and I dont want Eva going there.  Another thing that has annoyed me is that me and OH are thinking of buying a house together (this house is in my name only).  His dad said at the weekend ' are you ready to buy a house together?'  OH told him that we wouldnt have had Eva if we weren't ready to stay together!

Sorry for the rant Ladies!  The sun is coming out, looks like it will be a nice day!

Torie and Katie just be glad that your MIL's want to be involved and care (even if maybe it's all a little too much!) My MIL (to be) is still being a 'nothing' in our lives, she doesn't care didn't even bother coming to see joshua on his second birthday last week...gave my Sister in law (to be) his present to pass on. Cow! we dont even know if she is coming to emis christening in two weeks time..actually id prefer she didn't. Me and OH have already said that if things dont improve she wont be invited to our wedding next august thats how bad it is and how much she has made us hate her by not caring about our children!

Emi has got her 2nd set of jabs tomorrow, i haven't had her weighed since the last ones so interested to see how much she has put on... i actually like when she has her jabs (apart from the pain she's in) as my sister in law has joshua for me for an hour and i get a little bit of mother and daughter time with my princess.

Its horrible being stuck in doors isn't it...such a shame we all live so far apart! dont know about you others but i tend to feel very lonely...my family are all 90mins away and after uni most of my uni mates moved away from our uni town (just one left...see her about once a month) and have one other mate that i see once a fortnight (who has kids) met a few people locally at toddler groups but dont really have much in common with them and toddler groups dont run over school holidays. and as you will have read above in laws aren't much help (well actually Oh's dad is around, we see him once a week but its not like having female help and friendship...he's very close to OH though) it can get depressing at times but there is really nothing i can do to help my situation...cant go to baby groups as have toddler (which tends to make other mothers of very young babies nervous) and toddler groups can be hard work as i have to care for emi and often joshua will want me to play with him too.

im sorry to have such a moan...i just find that it helps to get it out and helps me to work out whats upsetting me...when i start typing i cant stopx

Hi there, I know what you mean Sarah this weather doesn't help and being stuck at home all day.

Well couldn't believe it Saturday Amir was screaming like mad and I looked in his mouth and he has a tooth coming - ah were is my baby going? - got to get him a new car seat aswell as he is now getting too big for this one.  The little porker.

Im feeling a bit brighter today and I do wish we all lived nearer each other as it can be quite isolating.

Anyway take care xx

Hi,

Sarah how did Emi go on with her jabs? Oliver has it 2nd lot today - 2weeks late. Aparently they didn't have enough vaccines at the clinic. Im dreading it as last time he screamed all night. Calpol at the ready!

Not much to report on really. How is everyone else? Lil ones OK?

I must be mad you know, lately I am really missing been pregnant. I was so miserable towards the end but now I miss it! I think it was all the excitement of it could happen any minute and would it be a boy or girl?! Because I was late and moaning I didn't appreciate things when they happened.

Emi was ok thanks a bit upset for a while but still slept very well (little angel normally sleeps from 8.30pm - 8am)

not much to report my end but will try to come on tomorrow for catch up!

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on here for ages. Just tried my best to catch up on everything.

Thomas is now 10 weeks old and can you believe he weighs 14lb 13oz. Hes a big bouncing boy. My dad says not to worry about his weight so I'm not going to. As we said before, you cant overfeed your baby.

Those having problems with MIL I know exactly how you feel. Mine was here at the weekend and she kept taking Thomas. I put the buggy at the end of the table in the restaurant and she pulled it towards her.  Her arm is broken so she cant do much but she is pathetic. He is pathetic too. We wandered around town and he was shoving a camera in Thomas' face all the time. Really annoyed me. I didn't click what he was doing until my mum said he's showing off. Like this is my grandson, in front of everyone. Then he's holding Thomas and as soon as he farts he passes him back to me like he has a contagious disease. Irritating.

I cant wait to have another baby. Does anyone feel the same. I think we will start trying again next summer.

Sarah, you should try netmums website. I'm in the same situation as you. My family are far away and aren't in touch with any uni mates. On netmums you can join your region and make friends. I have made friends with a few girls off it. We meet up for lunch, walk with the buggies, go to the childrens centre together or swimming and hopefully soon we are arranging a girly night out minus or little ones.

Right well Im off. Hope to be on more now.

Evening mums- I can't believe how quiet it is on here these days...anyone would think we all had babies occupying our time??!!

Laura- Thomas sounds on track with Lucy in terms of his weight- she is a great healthy bouncing baby too! I love chubbily babies, so cuddly and yummy to kiss! As for having another, I reckon 2 will be enough for me now! Soph is at such a great age (just over 2 and a half) and Lucy adores her and watches her all the time. I also had a complication this time round which prob means I shouldn't have any more anyway, so I need to be content with my 2 angels. Lucy has also started giggling which is amazing to hear- so genuine. I seem to have forgotten many of these things with Sophie.

Not much happening on here so I am off to bathe my girls and enjoy a glass of wine as hubby is off for bank hol tomorrow and I am making the most of having him here.

Speak soon ladies......oh by the way, Sarah, you were asking about mystery shopping jobs? There are a couple of websites for mums working from home that might point you in the right direction

www.workingmums.co.uk

www.mumandworking.co.uk

www.remoteemployment.com

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Can you believe there is a Due May 09 thread! I found out I was pregnant on Aug 28th last year. Can't believe where the time has gone!

Laura, I am the same as you. I can't wait to have another little on. We are going to start trying towards the end of next year. I only want 2kids though. Would love a little girl next but I don't mind whatever, so long as it was healthy. God, Oliver is only 15 weeks and listen to me!

Oliver had his 2nd set of jabs on Thurs. Little bugger smiled all the way through them. Then he was fine at home! So much different to the first time around. Lets hope he's the same next time!

Hope everyone has a nice bank holiday. I'm spending mine with my OH as he is working away all next week and I'll be all alone!

Hi hope everyone is well.  Had a bbq yesterday as it was OH birthday, Amir is such a poser and loves all the attention.  I know what you mean Katie about the due May thread time flies and to think it was a year ago most of us found out we were pregnant.

Not much too report - Amir still teething poor thing I can see the tooth popping through.

Anyway must go and do some house work

Its crazy that a year ago we were pregnant (and possibly didn't know for another couple of weeks) and i cant believe that already some of you are talking about having another...i had a 19 month age gap with mine and i think that was possibly a bit too small, although everything is now fine with them i think it would have been easier if joshua could have understood more and been able to communicate a bit.

Claire cheers for the links...i'll have a look at them soon.

Got Emis christening on sunday so please ladies fingers crossed for sun in staffordshire, all ready apart from an outfit for me...still too big for all my old clothes and dont want to spend a furtune on clothes that i hope will be too big in a few months time!

had a nice relaxing bank holiday weekend, hope you all did too!

hi girlies n babies!

my god at last ive found uz,its only tk me 16wks but i was still posting on the facebook site, know were all busy with lil 1s but did wnder where uz had all got 2,but now i know on here obviously!

yeah i know how strange is it we were pregers this time last yr when i was preg it completely dragged but now i wnder where the time went,i quite miss my bump!

well,it hasnt bn easy 16wks with rhys having severe acid reflux n bn admitted 2 hosp 5times now, even stopped breathing 3wks ago bcoz of it but thankfully hes now on 2different medicines of quite a high dose so he is much better! just a shame tho that its the medicine kping him happy so decided 2 go private 2 a physio, app this fri afternoon n shes goni give him physio 2 relax the diaphram n hopefully within a few wks ill b able 2 reduce his medicine n wean him off it al2gether!

talking of weaning he can get weaned early as this wil put a lid on the reflux so 2day i gave him babyrice, think hes bn ready 4 it as past wk hes bn going off feeds-still is! but then waking in night 4 feed n he loved every bit of it,ate the whole bloody portion, hungry lil mite!! lol!

neway hows the rest of these lil 1s,ne1 else bambino got relux?!

hope alls well, take care linz n rhys xx

hi agn! just noticed on last page a few of uz mentioned routine n katie ur lil 1 fighting slp?!

rhys was the same 4 ages n wld only catnap during the day so if i was in the house i cldnt rly get things done 4 him wakening up,but having him in a routine 4 abt 7wks now has def paid off-its gina fords rotine in using which is strict but being honest without it i rly wldnt have a clue esp now ive started 2 wean rhys as i can easily just refer bak 2 the bk if im not sure of smething! i rly wld recommend it!

his routine the now at 16wks old is;

7-715am-wakes himself talking gets 8oz feed

9-945am-nap in cot,i get rdy!

11am 6oz feed,1oz milk in baby rice given at half past!

12-2.15pm nap in cot or pram if im out, wkes himself

2.45pm 7oz feed

4-4.15pm power nap in cot

6-7pm half feed, bath rest of feed,in slping bag n put dwn awake 2 bed

10.45pm dreamfeed 3-4oz

he had bn waking 4 his dummy but now ive started 2 take his dummy out just as hes nodding off 2 slp, this cms 2 b wrking as he can get bak 2 slp himself!

soz 2 brash in but hope this mite hlp ne1,i kno that 4 me 2 i nd a routine so knowing whats happening on a daily basis means im more  organised, well sme days neway!loL!

hugs xx

I have to agree about the routine linz. If I didn't have a routine I dont know how I would get anything done. Well I know for sure I wouldnt cos when my OH is off and takes over we dont get anywhere. I find it so frustrating as he waits until Thomas is hungry before making his feed whereas I have it ready. I hate to hear him screaming and I think this doesnt happen on weekdays. I feel like just doing it all myself but then I would be on the go 7 days non stop. I need a little break. Even the weekend morning feed around 6-6:30 is terrible cos he makes so much noise. I try my hardest to be quiet weekdays. It like my sleep isn't as important as his. I dont understand the point of him doing them if I am going to be wide awake passing him nappies, fetching a bib because he forgot to get one beforehand.

Sorry to go on. Probably just because this has been a 3 day weekend its got on top of me.

Yes its strange to think our bouncing babies were tiny dots a year ago. I have just found out a friend is preg, I told her not to wish it away. Enjoy it. I definately will next time round.

We are definately gonna start trying again next summer. I'm having to put my OH off. It would be new year if he had his way. I need my body to recover.

I'm going to the Dr on Thurs. Keep getting dizzy spells and worried it may happen when I have Thomas in my arms or something like that. Also can I ask if everyone just went straight into normal period cycles after 1st period. I have had 3 in 3 weeks and its really getting me down now. I'm only having about a 3 or 4 day break in between them!  : (

I'm off to bed now.

Take care.

Hi Everyone

Sorry been a busy couple of weeks for me. Got a new kitchen fitted 2 weeks ago and the house was upside down and back to front for a week! Got Olivia baptised last week and seen lots of relatives which Olivia didnt like as she started to cry when she was being carried about! I know she is starting to recognise people and if she doesnt like the person who is carrying her then she'll let them know but screaming and tensing up. OH says we should let others carry her but she gets really mardy during the night. Guess who has top deal with it all by themselves ..... ME as he's at work! MEN!

I too miss being pregnant. We have spoke about having baby number 2 but dont think it'll happen just yet as the price of everything is just so damn expensive and wouldnt be able to afford to keep up with the bills.

Dont get me started on the out laws, mine have done my head in today!

Olivia has been really funny with her sleeps during the day. Usually she has cat naps of 10-15 mins every other hour throughout the day but this last week she gone 3 hours without a nap! You can tell she needs to sleep but she's just stuborn and wont sleep! little bugger!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Take care

Karen and Olivia

Hey Laura.

My periods havent got into a routine. Ive had slight bleeds 1 3 weeks ago and another last week. Hope you feel better after the trip to the doctors tomorrow.  Our OH's sounds like theyve been reading the same manual. My OH jsut takes his time doing everything with the LO even changing the nappy.

Morning everyone,

Had such a nice peaceful weekend. My mum and dad had shannon for the whole weekend as it was my birthday on sunday. I missed her sooo much. They only live in Devon - about 1 1/2 hours away, but felt like she was on the moon! It was the first time they've had her by themslves and they loved it. Didn't want to give her back!

Hi Linz, nice to hear from you. Shannon's got reflux as well, she's had it since she was 3 weeks old, now she's 16 weeks it seems a bit better. She was on 3 medicine's for it, but we've stopped giving most of them to her as they were making her worse. She's been to hospital a few times with it and had to have scans to make sure she didn't have a blockage. Glad Rhys is better now. We were thinking about starting shannon on baby rice this week to see it it helps.

Sarah - hope the christening went ok and you had sun - we had lovely weather in bristol - couldn't believe i got sun burnt!

Me and oh have been talking about having another one too. We'll probably wait about 2 years, we've got a 1 bedroom flat so there's not much room. Don't think i could cope with another baby at the moment. Shannon seems to want to be able to do everything yesterday. She can turn onto her stomach, she keeps trying to sit up and now she can feed herself!! We got her a bottle with handles and she likes taking it out of her mouth and putting it back in again - think she's trying to show us what a big girl she is!

Better get on and do some work, will try and get on later

Torie the christening is this sunday coming...must have typed it wrong. cant believe your parents had your little one all weekend...i still haven't had a whole night (sleep)away from joshua and he's two. this is mainly as my parents are 1 and a half hours away ...if they were closer i think joshua would be going to them once a month...they would love it but mum doens't think he's ready yet.

morning girls!

thanks torie-b nice 2 speak 2sme 1 else whos lil 1 has reflux,i dnt kno ne1 else! how old is shannon agn,ive 4gotten when every1 had their ickle 1s! hope ur shannon isnt 2bad,its awful isnt it! i was getting rly dwn n thought i was edging on pnd but thankfully at that point docs changed his medicine so altho hes not completely sympton 3 he is much better than he was!the past 2 nights during the night rhys has bn up either every 30mins or lastnight was every hr,n both nights ive ended up feeding him-that was the whole reason i gave him babyrice yest 2 pacify him but he still cms hungry, but he is being rly funny with his milk since the wkend n then 2day with his naps hes bn snd aslp 1 min then wakening n fighting slp n wandering if there is smething mayb niggling him,god its all a quessing game aint it! ive bn upstairs like a yo yo so rly havent got nething done!

laura-cnt help soz my period 1st came after 6wks of having rhys at that point i went back on pill n theyve bn regular since, got mine the now tho n im def more grumpy n less patient than i used 2 b also get cramps now n never used 2 before! r u on ne contraceptive-maybe that wld make them more regular?!

goni go grab sme lunch b4 the lil monster wakens agn!
