How did Amir sleep Lou? Oliver was out for the count after his calpol and woke up abd 4.30am. Still off it today but better than last night. Managed to get everything packed up now. Juast last min bits to do.
Anyways, got alot to do today and won't be on for a week now. Hope everyone has a good weekend etc.
Afternoon mummies- Katie, have a great hol, honey! Prob missed you, but it's worth a try!
Lou- hope Amir is ok? Lucy had her jabs Wed and wasn't great after. She only cried fleetingly just after, but the afternoon and evening were tough as she was pretty grizzly. Gave her calpol and then tried the second dose at night to help her sleep, but she vomited it back up and then still slept through the night! You just can't tell what they will do, eh? She has now slept through for 4 nights in a row- asleep by 11-11.30 then up after 6am. Fingers crossed it continues! I hope everyone is getting more sleep, too. You don't realise how much you need it til it's taken from you!
Have been reading about your christenings- I organised Lucy's before she was born so we could have it in the summer and she could fit into the hubby's family heirloom one (nearly 100 years old.....god forbid she vomits....). Having it in the church I go to and then back here for bubbly and food. Luckily we have the in-laws and my parents helping make food, so not too much stress! Let's all pray for sunny days for the baptisms!!!
Nice to hear everyone is doing ok. Don't get on here v much when there are 2 daughters to feed, change, entertain etc!! Toilet training Soph next week now that Lucy is a couple of months old, so may be on, tearing my hair out when she wees all over the carpet!!!
Hi there, well a bit better night Amir slept between feeds for 3hrs !!! - OH went out which I was not happy about but still think he is trying to make up for it 2day.
Its very quiet on here. Just going to try and get some rest whilst Amir is sleeping.
hope everyone had a good weekend! we went back to my parents where both children were fussed over, had a great time dad did family bbq 16ppl there so that was lovely for them all to meet emi and see how joshua is growing. also took emi to meet her godfather-to-be..all in all great time had and puts me on a positive for this week coming especially as its sunny.
although something very funny happened yesterday, bumped into someone i haven't seen for just over a year and they thought i was pregnant....they were more embarassed than me, i just have to laugh about it overwise i'll cry. ha ha!
went shopping for summer clothes can only get into size 18 at mo and not even that it trousers, although back into my 'smaller' 1st stage maternity clothes so got 3 more pairs of trousers i can wear. only lost a 1lb last week not happy as i was trying hard but ive hurt my leg can hardly walk so getting no exercise and im on tablets which have the sideeffects of not going to the loo so think im a bit bunged up. too much info i know! ha ha always an excuse!
hope everyone is feeling happy and positive like me! x x x
Hi ppl not been on for ages, congrats to you all on your new babys i had our baby boy on the 27th May 1 day late.
We called him Ryan and he was 12lb 2oz, a pound heavier than the last. My labour was very fast and unfortunatley daddy didnt make it so had him on my own.
It wasnt a major thing him being our 4th child,, its not like he hadnt seen it all b4 thou he arrived just in time to see the placenta come out. charming.
Ryan sleeps 8pm till 7am and at 7weeks ive started to ween him he weighed 15lb 11oz this afternoon and the health visitor says he needs it with his weight, were just into 3-6mnth clothes now and size 3 nappies so cant get away with buying newborn packs anymore which are cheaper.
My GP refuses to tie my tubes untill im 30 incase i want anymore and being a mother of 4 at 25 i think he's damm right unfair considering the last 2 babies were concieved on 2 different types of pill!!
My husband has agreed to get done why hes 32 and were dead cert we want no more, with 2 of each i feel so complete now.
Just wish thet would hurry up b4 we end up filling the spare seat of our car ppl carriers are a flippin god send i tell you!!!
Has anyone else started weaning their babies yet? ive had to do it early with all mine but got the go ahead from health visitor first with them.
Ryan takes 9oz every hour and half, now hes on a bit of food he goes 4hrs between feeds.
Always slept throu so im not complaining he's a little darling!!
We christen him this coming Sunday and i've booked 3 course meals for our guests at a really nice pub near to home, they have a huge well enclosed play area to keep my other 3 entertained.
We've invited close relatives so their will only be 20 of us, his suit is major cute white romper suit with waistcoat and tails and shoes to match, just need to get a fancy shawl now to finish him off.
His christening bracelet is gold with little stalks round.
cant wait to see him kitted out you can bet as soon as it goes on he will be sick!!
Hi there, health visitor came 2 day to measure Amir and weigh him, he now weighs 141b 4 ounz.
Dawn Amir feeds approx every 2hrs and is on hungry baby formula but makes no difference - your so lucky that Ryan sleeps through the longest Amir goes is 3hrs max at night.
HV did that survey thing and I came out with having PND, i do feel a bit embarrased to be homest but like she said is there any wander having mother in law here for 6weeks etc. I got to see GP tomorrow when Amir has his immunisations so we will see what he says. x
ladies when you talk about weaning you are talking about from breast to bottle aren't you and not on to solids already! what big babies, they must be feeding well!
We took Jay to hv yesterday and he wieghed 14lb7oz. She said was he on yorkshire puddings . Little did she know he's been on C&G stage 1 baby food (the little jars) for the past week (only a couple of baby spoons) at lunch times. He's sleeping from 8-9 at night till 5 in the morning when I get up to feed him.
How unfair is that? a baby that sleeps all night. Would love it if shannon did that, at the moment she sleeps from about 10-4, not too bad but bit of a pain when i get up at 5.30 to go to work. No point going back to bed for 30 mins, so most days i'm up from 4 til 11 at night - i'm so tired now, want to curl up under my desk and have a nap!
Shannon's about 11lb now and still in newborn clothes! 0-3 is still big on her, think it's gonna be a few months before she's in 3-6. Quite tempted to try weaning her soon, don't know if it'll make her reflux worse tho. Might have to speak to hv about it.
My hv didn't do any tests to check for pnd, at one point when they came round i was feeling quite low,but they didn't seem to care too much. Lou - everything will get better soon- probably as soon as your mil leaves!!
Keep meaning to book christening, will have to do it after we moved. Have to leave our house by 9th August, still can't believe we have to leave cos we've got a baby. so annoying having to move - i love living where we are.
god you really are talking about weaning onto food i cant believe it! they recommend 6 months now but we started joshua when he was four months. im not even going to think about it till 4 months.
Hi everyone- bit busier on here lately, was so quiet for a day or so there!
Can't believe we are talking weaning already- wow, Dawn, Ryan is one healthy boy by the sounds of things! Over 12lb at birth, and on solids at 7 weeks- you sound like you know exactly what you are doing, too, which is great, he will thrive! I weaned my first at just over 4 months as she seemed to want more, but Lucy (almost 10 weeks) is content on her 6 feeds at the mo. She is bigger than Soph, and to be honest, I am tired of people commenting on how big she is- as far as I am concerned, she is the epitome of health and the HV is over-the-moon with her progress, so I am happy with that.
Lou- good to hear Amir is gaining steadily, too, same for Jay (Oz and Debs weaning too?). It seems so long ago since we were all preggers and getting scared about labour, now we are wanting them to sleep etc- all very different.
Torie- hope work is going ok, although I can't believe what time you are up in the morning! Poor soul, that would punish me I am afraid. Soph is asleep by 8pm through to anytime after 8am and Lucy is 11pm through to 7am and I still crave more sleep!! I am greedy, though, and adore my sleep!!
Sarah- don't worry about someone asking if you were pregnant! The truth is, you WERE only a few weeks ago and a second baby will be harder to shift. I amd running around like a loony and haven't managed to lose even 1lb in 2 weeks! I don't know what is happening when I still have a good stone to lose! I am just going to be patient and try my best but not get upset, so Sarah, enjoy your children and don't worry too much- you have plenty time to slowly get back to normal, honey!
Must go and organise lunch for Soph and me while Lucy cat naps...
Hi there, wow doesn't time fly - I was so pleased as Amir slept for 3hrs last night, HV said by next week when he will be ten weeks he should start doing better.
He had his injections today it was horrid he screamed his head off and has slept most of the day, I keep toping him up with calpol. I also had the depo injection aswell.
HV decided to do more frequent visits to see me, rather than giving me tablets at the minute. MIL should have still been here but she went home early - what a shame.
Quiet on here yesterday. Glad Amir sleeping better Lou, it makes so much difference to how you feel, when you start sleeping more you'll feel better.
Claire - i'm so tired all the time, it's such a pain getting up at 4, OH wont do it cos he said he's getting too tired and can't back to sleep after getting up!! I can't get back to sleep either and i can't sleep in the day now either. He's self employed and can start work when he wants. Sorry about rant, but he can be so selfish sometimes. If i'm lucky he'll get up on the weekend with her but only if he hasn't got football.
Gonna have to go to dr's today, been suffering really badly with joint pains, can't hold baby for very long without hurting. Must be getting old!! SIL said she got bad joints after she was pregnant so don't know if it's related.
hi all, went to parenting class yesterday when we learned baby massage. really enjoying the classes... the best thing of all is hearing other babies cry - it's not just my little screamer! after 30 ins of massaging (which all the babies enjoyed) they had all had enough and were all screaming! however, within 15 mins, very single one was sleeping! lovely!
I've got a busy weekend this weekend... fri morning i'm going to try be in work before 9 as there's a special assembly for our head teacher who is leaving, fri night it's his leaving do, saturday there a mini music festival called rock in the park i would like to go to (depending upon weather!) sat night going out for meal and film for my friends birthday then sun supposed to be going to dads for sunday dinner.... phew! shattered just thinking about it! lol
Doesn't it seem a lifetime ago we were all preggers? i don't miss it at all, much prefer being a real mummy!
We're about to put Osian into size 3 nappies (he's 12lb at 7 weeks) what size is everyone else in???
baby massage sounds really good. Might have to find out about classes in my area.
Wow you'e busy, think i'm just gonna be stuck at home not doing much again. Think OH has made plans to play football both days and go out with his friends on saturday night. He seems to forget sometimes that he can't just do what he wants anymore, he doesn't seem to think that his life has to change becasue of the baby. It's really getting me down that he keeps making plans to do things which means that i can't do anything. I even had to take the baby to netball training with me cos he decided to go out - even tho i've had netball on the same day and date for the past 5 years. Sorry another rant today - getting really fed up and annoyed.
Anyway...
Shannon's still in size 1 nappies, she's about 11lbs now at 11 weeks (not quite sure how much she weighs as oh wont take her to see hv to be weighed). Think i'll start putting her in size 2 when we finish the packet we're on.
Hi all- what a crappy week so far...am potty training Soph and feel like a scrubber-woman as she keeps weeing on the floor. I know this is perfectly normal, but after 4 days of it, you start to go insane! To be fair, she did pee in the potty this morning voluntarily, which gives me hope, and she may only have peed on her bedroom floor just now as I didn't have the potty in her room (was downstairs, so must invest in another). She is sitting on it more happily now, and we DO seem to be improving, but it is a nightmare with a wee baby aswell! Luckily Lucy has been a dream this week and sleeping between almost every feed for 2-3 hours. Still sleeping through, too, so perhaps that is one hurdle crossed!
Sorry to offload, but feel crazy as we have been holed up in the house all week to potty train and only now are seeing results! Can't wait to do it again with Lucy.......................
Torie- sorry your OH is a bit pants sometimes- makes me realise how good mine is, not that I want to rub it in. He isn't perfect, by any means, but he does a lot with the girls, esp with Soph when I am busy with Lucy. Having said that, he seems to slope off to the garden at every available opportunity til I call him in the help change nappies, scrub the floor etc etc!! At least he is only in the garden, weeding or mowing the lawn.
Anyway, we are using cloth nappies and some disposables at night- Lucy is in the 3 ones now but they are massive on her. The size 2 were ok, but a slight tight fit after a good feed!
Must go and tend to Soph- have left potty upstairs, perhaps she will have used it?????
Hi there, sorry to hear about your OH but relieved that its not just mine. Amir was up again every 2hrs last night and when I say anthing to OH he says he has to sleep as he has work next day.
Amir is on size 3 nappies now. My mum and me are taking him to Cleethorpes for the weekend, am looking forward to the break as I know my mum will help with night feeds.
Hey ladies- quick post- think we may have cracked it with Soph- all pees in potty today and most of yesterday. I think I am starting to understand when she needs! Fingers crossed.
Lou- hope your weekend is great, esp having your mum to help. My parents are coming tomorrow, so will be looking forward to them seeing the change in Lucy as they only saw her when she was under 2 weeks....
Hope you are all well, just wanted to post my hopeful good news that Soph is well on her way to being toilet trained and I am very happy. Will celebrate with a glass of the old vino collapso ce soir!!!!
