Hi there, just been catching up on the postings.

We had a loveley time in Cleethorpes - Amir had the best sleep ever 4hrs between feeds - must be the sea air.

Katie - Amir went in the swimming pool and we got told for taking a photo too.

He was as good as gold whilst we were away and it was good to have my mum to help out.

I too had the depo injection and had not had a period, I too told the doctor but did not do a pregnancy test.

Anyway will see how he sleeps tonight.

Urrrrgh I'm frazzled. Meg had her jabs at about 3:30pm and then slept for a good 3 hours after. BUT at night she was grizzly, wouldn't settle and needed extra feeds and comforting. Bless her she tried really hard to settle herself but she was so obviously suffering.

She seems ok this morning though, none the worse for wear for her lack of sleep.

It was a nice in a way though as her 8week check went well. She's now a thwacking 12lb 4oz...thats a pound in a week..............yow!

I have such a piggy wig.

Hiya Emma

Bless Meg! Olivia seems back to her normal self this morning. She had the biggest poo last night and all you heard from me was OMG! lol! She wanted to play with me last night but kept on falling asleep. went from 9pm to 2am till her next feed last night, how impressive!   When Olivia got weighed at her 8 week check she was 12lb 10. 'Bloody hell' came out of my mouth, followed by 'Im really sorry for my language!' We couldnt believe the weight as she had put on 1lb 5oz! She is getting really tubby now but its really cute!

Lou - Glad you had a nice time away with Mum.  I want to go away but cant decide where. We're so used to lazy holidays and just bake in the sun but we cant do that anymore. Olivia HATES being hot and comes out in a rash on her face.

Gotta go and get ready for Mummies and Babies group.

Hi everyone,

I'm so pleased that we have booked a holiday. It's only a week in the Wye Valley in a cottage but I cant wait. It will be nice to spend some time undisturbed just our little family. We are taking the dog aswell. Just hope we get some nice weather while we are there.

Thomas slept for 7 1/2 hours last night. Is that classed as sleeping through. I'm not expecting it to last but was pleased. I woke all ready for his usual feed time and he was sound asleep. I rolled over for another hour and a half it was bliss.

I have to say Im dreading the jabs after reading all your stories. I got the calpol in all ready. Really hope he is ok. Got Thomas weighed yesterday at 6 weeks and he's 11lb 13.5 oz. I can really see the difference in him now. He is wearing 3-6 months mostly. I managed to pick a few bargains up at the next sale to help soften the blow of a growing baba.

Anyway I'm off to bed now. Hope everyone else is ok.

Laura xx

Hi all, got our jabs and 8 week check this afternoon - eeeekkkkkk!!!!

so nervous!

At the 5 am feed this morning i decided to cuddle him in bed and he went back to sleep without demanding food and went to 7:30 am instead - 7:30 hours between feeds - yayyyyyy! don't think it will last tho - fingers crossed.

Laura - anything past 6 hours is classed as sleeping through i think?!

well i'll let you all know how jabs go!

Bes wishes all,

catherine & Osian. xxxxxxx

Good luck Catherine and Laura with the jabs. Regarding the Calpol only give it to them if they really need it due to a fever as they are still under age for it. I had to give Meg some yesterday evening as she was burning up and screaming only for her to puke it all up again 10 minutes later along with her entire feed! *SIGH*

She seems all better this morning though, she went through last night from 10pm to 4:30am bless her and then again till 8:00am so I'm feeling human again.

We bought a new car yesterday, a Citroen Picasso..my mum truck!  OH says I only want it to show the world how fertile I am...LOL. So wrong, I want it for the boot space..........honest.

Anyway 3 sleeps till holiday....yippee!

Have a great sunny day all.

E x

Well no sooner had I spoken Thomas woke at 3:30, 1-2 hours earlier than normal. He had the runs poor boy. Anyway he has been again this morning and its back to normal. Wonder what it could have been.

Good luck with jabs Catherine.

Afternoon- are you all in scorching heat like Scotland today? It is so hot I am keeping Lucy-loo inside most of the time! I don't want to have to use too much suncream on a wee one, so better off playing it safe- plus she gets sweaty in a car seat or pushchair! Mind you, they do say to keep out of the midday sun, eh?

The Calpol I have for Lucy is from 2 months, and she was just that age at her jabs, so I had no worries giving her it after as she was very crotchety, poor soul. However, even if she had been a few days short of 2 months I would still have considered it as my HV okayed it and it does work wonders if and when required. But, I also agree with Emma, only give it if def needed!

OOOOOps, didn't realise I left this half-finished, and have been in garden and out for a walk since starting it!

Must go and do Tesco shop online before Lucy wakes and while Soph is on potty!

Keep well girls,

Claire x

well check up and jabs went ok. osian is nearly off the scale with his length!!! 63.5 cm and 13lb 10 oz at 8 weeks  dr was really pleased. he did scream when they jabbed him but luckily he was due a feed so they gave me a side room to BF him in and he settled quickly. it's only been 3 hrs so there's still time lol. he's slept since! he's asleep on me now and keeps frowning in his sleep - bless him!!!  i'll prob be on tomorrow with horror stories! thanks to all for the best wishes. xxxxx

Hi there, glad to hear all the little ones are doing good.  I haven't took Amir to be weighed for 2weeks due to holidays etc so will see how much he weighs next week.

Last night we had a miracle Amir slept for 4hours bless - I hope we are getting there.

I took him today to get his photo took and he loved all the attention. I go next week to pick the ones I want will probably cost me a fortune as I will buy loads thats for sure.

Hope Osian is ok after his jabs - Amir will be ready for his 3month one in a  couple of weeks, poor things.

Hi,

Hope Osian is OK.

I had to come on because you won't believe it, Oliver has a tooth! He has been chewing his hands and dribbling for a couple of weeks now and I thought he could be teething. But HV said it was very unlikely. Felt his gums today and there it is, a tooth!

I'm in total shock!

Katie x

Show/hide user stats

Crikey Katie! Next time you post he will prob be walking!!!! I wondered about the teething as I have been feeling Lucy's gums cos they felt hard, but Soph didn't cut her first one til 6-7 months. I don't know why I constantly compare when they are seperate individuals, but I can't help it, I just kind of assume they will follow a similar pattern when they are both products of the same parents!!!

Gosh, Osian sounds similar to Lucy- she was 60cm and they couldn't believe how much she had grown in length- same too, though, as Osian, as she is perfectly in proportion as well!!! Well done you- he is obviously thriving!

Must go and watch Big Brother and finish my glass of wine....have had a VERY busy day and needed some relaxation....

Take care

Morning everyone,

Katie - shannon's been the same chewing her hands and dribbling a lot, didn't realise that it could be a sign of teething, i'll check her later when i get home from work.

Glad all the babies are doing well after their jabs, we've got the next lot in 3 weeks time, think the surgery must be busy cos shannon will be nearly 15 weeks when she has the next lot.

Had row with dr's at the weekend, they managed to lose the baby's prescription. I went to the pharmacy to collect one of her medicines and it wasn't there - poor baby had to spend the weekend being sick. I wasn't impressed, shannon's finding it really hard to put on weight, and it doesn't help when the dr's can't do her prescriptionon time.

Sorry for rant, but i was so annoyed, wouldn't care if it was for me. Shannon weighs 10lb 12 now, she's only put on 11oz in 3 weeks. She still seems really tiny for 12 weeks old. The dr didn't say anything about her weight, but compared to everyone else's lo she's not as heavy as she should be.

Better get on and do some work,

Torie

Hi ladies

Good to see everyone is getting on ok.  Cant believe how quickly time is passing!!

Torie - dont worry about Shannon's weight, if it was a problem the hv would surely say something.  Eva is 12 weeks old today, we got her weighed yesterday at clinic and she is 10lb 7oz.  She was only 6lb 2oz when born so will be lighter for a while yet and I'm bf so she wont necessarily put on that much.  She seems to put on about 7 or 8 oz every 2 weeks.  I think the hv is more concerned that Eva is meeting all the development stages, which she is, so I'm not worrying about it.  The hv is coming to see me in a fortnight regarding weaning, so that will be something else to worry about lol

Enjoy the sunshine!!

Allison + Eva

torie  - so sorry to hear about the cock up, that's terrible and you deserve a rant... you should write to your local MP about it!!!!!

Claire - hope you enjoyed the glass of wine - as i'm still BF haven't got drunk for nearly a year. had a bit of cider the other night but i do feel like getting hammered! lol, it only takes one large glass of wine usually anyway! tee hee.

Katie - can't believe the tooth - hope you're not BF still..... ouch!!!! is it still under the gum or has it actually popped out? the poor little un it must be sore!

thanks for the best wishes everyone re jabs - after his feed last night he screamed for about an hour every time he moved (he's usually grumpy anyway) he obviously had sore legs, but then slept through again last night!! went 6 hours 20 mins between feeds! yay! hoping we've cracked it but am sure it'll go to pot soon. he's fast asleep now still.... he doesn't usually sleep much in the day so the injections have obviously whacked him out as all he's done is deeply sleep - what a pleasant side effect!!! lol   we didn't get given calpol from the doc so had to send the hubby out, i couldn't as the baby needed me!

I've had a bad cold & cough i caught from my friend this week and i think the baby might be getting it he has a little cough and it sounds awful bless the little thing. will have to  wait until he's bad as can only give 2 lots of calpol in 24 hours.... i'd forgotten how nice it tastes!

anyway am off to see my friends new house after he's been fed and watered.... love to all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Show/hide user stats

Hihi everyone,

Catherine - Oh dear bless yah. Sory to hear about the cold. Little Meg has one at the minute and it's no fun bless her. She's snuffling and coughing and is right off her milk...unheard of! Poor little mite first she has some ham fisted cow stick needles in her legs and now this......I bet she wished she'd stayed in the womb!!!

Katie - WOW! A tooth. Josh was 6 months when he popped his first one. Having said this Meg is chewing her fist a lot I thought it was in place of her dummy, but could be teething I spose.

Better get back to my OH he is holding Meg and she is not in the best of moods.

Ta rah,

Hey,

Been away for weekend. It was my brother in laws friends and family day at the army. Had a blast.

Oliver has 2 teeth. One has just come through and one is just showing under his gum. This little boy isn't normal....they're where his fangs will be! LOL! I can't believe it. I wondered why he was crabby.

He now weighs 13lb 1oz. He's only put on 4lb since birth but seems to be OK.

Hope you are all enjoying this gorgeous sunshine!

Katie xoxo

OMG I cant believe Oliver has 2 teeth coming through. I hope he's not too grouchy. Now that you have said he was chewing his fist it makes me think Thomas has been chewing his fist for the past week and also dribbling a lot. I just thought he wanted his dummy though. He isn't even 7 weeks yet but babies can be born with teeth so I've heard.

Right well I'm off to watch the rest of big brother.

Good morning,

can.t believe how lush the weather is and i'm stuck in the office !

Thanks Allison, you've put my mind at rest about the weight. Shannon seems to be doing everything that she should, so i'll try and stop worrying about it.

was in middle of writing something and computer decided that i'd finished writing! I just know it's gonna be one of those days.

Had busy weekend looking after oh and baby - oh had to go into hospital on friday to have an operation on his nose, now he's not allowed to do anything for a few days. Getting a bit stressed looking after him, doing everything for the baby, working full time as well as packing for when we move and keeping things tidy incase people come round and look at our house. Oh then has the nerve to ask me why i'm tired and a bit moody, as he keeps pointing put - he's the one who's been in hospital..grrrr.

We've booked to go away to butlins for a few days in september with the sun holidays. As we've had to pay for 4 people even tho tho it's only the 3 of us going, oh thought it would be a good idea to invite his parents to come with us.  I thought the whole idea of going away was so that the 3 of us could relax and spend a bit of time together, now i'm going to have to be on my best behaviour for the week. Sometimes he doesn't think before he does things.

Sorry for moan again, just needed to get it out of my system, might be able to concentrate now.

Hope you all have lush days sitting in the sun, think of me sat in this cold office (i sit under the air con and am freezing already!)

Torie
