Hi girls

I will defo share my number with you girls but only as soon as I can get on FB!!! I can't seem to get it load on dial up half the time so haven't really been on it since moving into this temp house but as soon as I get a chance to log in I will as would love a way to keep in touch!!

Some good news... Amanda, my friend from 'Due August 07' forum, the one I jumped ship from to join you lovely ladies when jacob decided to be a sept baby and not an august one, just gave birth to a baby boy last night... she called him kingsley!! I am soooooo pleased for her... she had a wee boy at only 30 wks pregnant last year and sadly lost him shortly after due to edwards syndrome, so she really does deserve a happy outcome this time and well baby Kingsley is fit and well!! Lovely news!!

My pelvis problems have unfortunately gone from bad to worse and I can't walk alot of the time now without support from OH or using something like J's buggy as a zimmer!!! Not exactly making life easy as having to get about the house on my hands and knees... stairs are a total no-no and so getting to the toilet is quite a challenge too!!! So I am going to go and see my GP on mon to ask if there is anything at all I can take or use to try and help me as I don't see how I can manage to care for J for another 6 weeks or so in this state!!

Anyway, being hounded by OH to stop hogging the net as he wants to check his email too... god I miss broadband and the ability to both check mail at the same time!!!

Joy, thinking of you hun. Must be a horrid experience and really feel for you... as everyone says you are sounding like you are handling it all fantastically! Hugs!

Liz, hope you get some time to rest soon hun!! I can certainly empathise with the whole being full time mummy and moving house situation... a real challenge but it will all work out in the end! Thinking of you xx

Take care all, hope to speak soon but all dependant on when I can walk next as never seem to know when I will be able to get out and about and when I can't!

Hi girls.

Doesnt life feel crap sometimes?? Know i could have much bigger problmes, but the stuff with OH is really getting me down. Now ive started looking for somewhere else to live it just feels so awkward and tense. This is understandable obviously, but for once cant wait for the stepkids to come back so we have a distraction. Just feels so forced to make conversation when we are alone (my folks went home yesterday), he says he's minding what he says to not p me off. On top of it all we are going away for most of next week so will be spending 24/7 together.

Alice. Tom is learning to drive early , could get him started on car cleaning next time you need it lol.

Maria. Great to hear from you. Thats wonderful about your friends baby, cool name too!Know she'l never forget the lost baby, but can imagine how happy she must be right now.

Hi all,

Well we are almost there, still a fair bit to do today but most of the stuff is either in the trailer or van. Lucky we have vans actually! It had been knackering and stressfull to say the least, esp when H wants to crawl off at break neck speed every 5 mins. We hope to be in the other house tomorrow then we wait till the cottage is vacant then it'll be action stations again, we anticipate end of sept, early oct. Once we're in the cottage we can relax a bit apart from when it comes to pay the rent!! We are able to rent out the stables but for only one horse so hope someone out there wants stable/grazing and school to themselves, it will help with the rent.

Maria, thats great about Amanda I did read about her loss as I was due in august originally too. Poor Amanda as must've been so awful for her so I am very pleased to hear of her sons safe arrival, so please pass on my best wishes to her. As for you I am sorry that you are in pain. I know you may not want to but perhaps you ought to consider an ellective section, that way you know when the pain will end, i.e. at 38 weeks. You can also have the luxury of planning around it, god knows you need some convenience in your life after the time you and OH have had, it may be easier for OH and relatives too if they are needed for babysitting duties. It may not be your ideal birth but he you never know you may get another attempt another time! Also sometimes you just have to look at all the factors and think of the best solution for everyone.

Alice nice Mini, my first car was a yellow mini called Eggy!

Em, tough times for you too hun, thoughts are with you. Just be clear with your words. I always look back at break ups and serious 'talks' and thought 'why did I not say that!!' Just be open and honest and things will slot into place eventually. You are a good person and so caring for your step children, don't beat yourself up.

Joy ,how are you feeling today?, still a bit shell shocked I expect. I do hope you've had a chance to gather your thoughts and recover a bit. You have a good man there in Gary and as you say you were lucky it was caught early so minimal damage to your tube. Its been a hard week for you hun and big hugs for you x I hope the weather improves for you too as I know you hate this kind of weather! x

Must go and get on with yet more packing, eek!

Hi Everyone,

I've just spent ages reading your posts, on Thursday I burnt the processor on my laptop, it was just over a year old so not impressed - I've learnt DON'T LEAVE LAPTOPS ON OVERNIGHT!  Anyway finally had time to get to the shops and work out which one to buy today, it is so hard without the internet to work out which one is the best bargin on the market!

Joy - Sorry to hear your news, I hope things sort themselves out naturally rather than an eruption.

Maria - Good luck with the last few weeks!

Liz - All the best with the move.

Em - Don't let the problems with your OH destroy who you are!  Stay strong! Stay positive!

Alice - I love the car, it is so cute!

Lisa - How are things?  Any kicks yet?

Abbey - Your right this time last year was soooooo exciting, a few people I know is OZ are due Sept/Oct, actually four of them and I am so jealous of how exciting it is to be having your first!

Anyway must get going, heaps of things to load onto this new laptop!

Hope everyone's having a lovely long weekend, my hubby is working so not much fun here!

Hi all,

Liz - sounds like youve got your work cut out, Good luck with the moving into the new place today. It'll be so nice to unpack your stuff again, and find new homes for everything, but it must be strange knowing your going to have to do it all again before too long.

Joy, how are you? Hope your not feeling too down. What have you been up to this weekend? Have your rehersals started properly yet?

Tom has been up loads the past few nights with a cold and teeth coming through, so am nacred!

Deenie thats so annoying, we've had our laptop for years so I just know that one day soon it's going to die on us.

Hope the weather stays good for today so we can go and play outside, haven't been out in the garden for so long...

Computer last thing to be packed away, lol!  We get to other house later today.

Henry has woken twice in the last 4 days, is the move unsettling him? Teeth? Growth spurt?God knows.

Hi girls

Just flying through (as seems to be the norm these days!!!)... just back from doc - a very good one I wish to add... he really explained things well and helped me understand what is happening in my ongoing back problems and causing all the siatic pains, etc and he has also confirmed that the new crippling pain at my front between my legs is down to a pulled muscle injury in my groin which I achieved last week - well done me!!! I managed to do it so simply by lifting my foot to a step infront of me to put on shoes and apparently it can be this easy to do when preggers due to all the softening ligaments, etc... very empathetic doc as his wife suffered badly with back issues and injuries with her 3 kids so he understood better I think! So I have been told to avoid anything that means separating my legs (no nookie for me then LOL!!) or lifting legs up steps, etc... not too easy to achieve when you have stairs to climb to go for a pee, a truck to get into and a wee man to chase, etc but I will do my best to follow his guidelines as much as poss (poor OH will be running around lots!!) ... he has also told me it is perfectly safe to take 8 paracetamol in a day if needed to help keep pain down and to use ice on my groin area and that I should take two paracetamol at one time as taking one is worthless. He also told me about a book I should get called MacKenzies back exercises, which I should follow on my road to recovering from my ongoing back issues so will be buying me a copy of that!!

As always Jacob is a gorgeous as ever... he is growing loads... much bigger than his friends at M&T... he is very cheeky too!!

Bump is MASSIVE!!! Can't believe it, 6 weeks to go... where did it go??? Lisa how are you getting on?? Have you a bump yet??

Liz, thanks for the number... I will text you tonight so you have mine! You are braver than me posting it on here!! I have been deliberating everything re VBAC verses elective section ... my head is a mess!!! But each time I come back to the same conclusion that I would never get over not knowing whether I would have got my natural delivery... reckon it would torment me for too long so reckon I have to just let what happens happen and go with the flow but I am annoyed that last time I was so not scared and so laid back about the whole labour thing but this time I am crapping myself at the thought of things going wrong, baby not being ok on arrival or not coping with labour with the back issues, etc so much so that I can't seem to even think for a second that it might actually go okay!!! Nightmare!! I am actually looking forward to it all being over and done with and having my wee man here in my arms safe and well whatever the journey!! ... anyway hope you have made it to your new home okay and it wasn't too stressful moving!! I am still living out of boxes & bags... was only meant to be for a couple of months but been 4 months now!! Hope things move quicker for you!

Anyway, better get these animals fed, etc... Hope everyone else is well & bubs too!

Joy, how are you hun??

Deenie, sorry to hear about your PC!! Thanks for the good luck wishes!

take care all, M xxx

Hi All, Have spent the last 3 days in Eastbourne with one of my bands, playing 4 concerts on the bandstand. Haven't seen Kerenza for 3 days except for a cuddle last night when she woke up from her sleep. So I am looking forward to seeing her this evening. She has a busy month planned what with birthday parties etc, she is quite the social butterfly!

I am good. Yes Maria I have a bump, far bigger than last time I think although I am only 18 weeks. I have felt one or two things that I think could be kicks but not a lot, certainly not as much as I remember feeling at this stage last time. Am not panicking yet as its still early days for that really, and could just be that baby in different position this time, or placenta acting as a cushion....or maybe its a boy rather than a girl and its a lot lazier! But in myself I feel fine! I'm sorry to hear you're in so much pain Maria. Its hard enought to cope with a little one as it is especially when pregnant, but with all your back pain etc you ust be really struggling. I hope you get your natural delivery this time around. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone for you!

Well I'm at work so had best not stop too long. Hope everyone and their babes had a good bank holiday.

Em did you say it was your birthday? I hope you had a nice day.

Joy how have things been over the weekend?

xx

Hi guys

It seems to be very quiet on here - babies keeping everyone busy by the sounds of things.

Weather is rubbish here and was so over most of the bank holiday.  Just my luck to get 3 days off work and weather to be cr*p!

Hi all,

Well we are now ensconsed in a nice little house in a nearby village, we have it till mid oct. We are going to put our cat in a cattery from sunday till we settle in our proper house. What a palava!

It was so , daunting more than anything avtually, when you stop for a minute and think about all the stuff you have to move it is a bit like being told not to look down when you're on something high but you do and you wish you didn't!

Maria thanks for text, glad to be in touch with you. Put my number on here as you said you had difficulties getting on FB Maybe Tb will delete the post for me, think they can.

Right I have to go as am at work and done sod all so far

Oh Oh Oh OH, forgot to say (how could I!) Henry took his first steps yesterday, clever boy!!! V. Proud.

Bye for now xxx

Show/hide user stats

Hi, Liz glad your a bit settled in to your new place. The poor cat though - im sure he'll makes some friends in there .. Well done Henry, what a big boy..

When are you due again Lisa? Have you had any starange cravings for anything this time? When do you start your maternity leave and how long are you plannig to have off this time?

Emma, hope your ok and enjoying your time away - how are things with your OH now?

maria, your so close now - amazing, i bet you just can't wait for J's little brother to appear now!

Well, Tom is majorly running around now, and chasing the cats (and the neighbours cats!) most of the time, someone bought over some Bob the builder toys which he loves playing with . He seems to have suddenly outgrown all his baby toys and is moving onto diferent ones, like pushing something through a hole, or pushing trains or cars along. He still spends half his life chewing everything too of course. I wonder when they stop doing that.

We have had several unsuccessful attempts at self feeding. So we give him the bowl and spoon and the spoon goes into the bowl, bangs around a bit, and then flings the food across the room - happened last night with cheesy mashed potato and i am still finding bits everywhere this morning - my patience is slowly ebbing away! He will take the spoon but not actually pass it to his mouth, and would rather pick up the food and out it straight it! I can see his logic, why would you put it on a spoon when its so much easier to just pop it straight in.. We will continue  tonight, and hope it gets there soon. How are you all getting along with the feeding?

Tom also drinks from his beaker, but drinks very little and thinks its more of a toy, so doesnt drink much at all, so we are supplementing with bottles of water still. I supose he would drink if he was really thirsty though.

Right best go and wash my car while I have some time while he's still asleep. xx

Morning all

I need some help and advice as I now feel that I am fully exhausted with C's sleeping situation. He is taking well over an hour each night to fall asleep. He keeps getting up, trying to get out of bed, jumping up and down, climbing and just generally being a pain.  I have got used to him waking in the night and now can/have to deall with it but I cannot deal with him fighting his sleep to the bitter end.  Do you guys have any tips on how to make him fall asleep.  I have tried the whole bathing, massaging thing but it has never worked on him.  He is tired at bedtime and is rubbing his eyes but he just wont sleep.

Alice, I know what you mean about the feeding.  C will only eat if he has a spoon in his hand too.  However he does not use it - he prefers to stick his whole hand in the plate/bowl.  He uses his spoon to make noise and push all the food off the plate.  I can honestly say he is a very very naughty boy.  No one can say no to him at the moment.  His teacher at nursery said no to him the other day and he slapped her.  Last night I said he wasn't allowed to move around in the bed and he started scratching and slapping me.  He does the same to my husband.  The thing is it can be quite funny but i dont want him to think he can do that - he cant go around slapping people that say no to him!!

Apart from that he is gorgeous and gets more gorgeous (and naughty) everyday.

Right that is enough of me going on.

Hope you are all well

Hi all

Thanks for all your well wishes - it's been a tough week but think things are sorting themselves out ok now. I've had several blood tests over the last week or so & they've all indicated a drop in hormone levels which is good - in fact they'd started dramatically dropping before I even had the injections so obviously my body was starting the process itself anyway. I went in for another test today which I should get a call about later on & hopefully that'll be continuing the trend. I also started bleeding yesterday & it's fully kicked in big-time today - clots and all (sorry if TMI!). Feeling quite emotional as a result but also glad it's sorting itself out. Typically this means I have bad period pains today & it's my work day this week - & having just filmed a wedding I really have to get quite a lot done so can't be shirking off - hey ho!

Anyway - Liz - glad the move part 1 went ok!! Also, WELL DONE HENRY!!!! Isn't it fab when they take those first steps! I was really excited last night as Lily managed to walk across the whole room by herself - it's just so exciting to watch isn't it!

Maria - hope the last few weeks aren't too arduous for you - it's amazing how quick the last months have passed! So excited for you & bet you can't wait to meet little man no.2!!

Alice - thanks for asking after things - the weekend was ok - ups & downs - but luckily was starting to feel better over the weekend which was nice. We're coming up to half way through rehearsals now! I've learnt the part - in fact I've had the book down for the last couple of weeks now & so am really getting into it. I've only had to miss 1 rehearsal so far due to all this but have a feeling I may have to miss tonight's as well if the pain doesn't go away... we'll see! The show opens in less than 4 weeks now though so don't really want to miss another one. Eek!

Anyway - must get on with this work.
Love to all mums, babes & bumps!

Hi Ladies

How is everyone?? Thanks for all the best wishes for the big countdown... can't believe in less than 6 weeks baby is due and well we will be parents of two... quite a daunting thought but wonderful too!Had a check up at the clinic this week, including a growth scan and he is doing just perfect...

Lisa, my bump has defo been bigger all the way through this time... even other people have commented so! Hope your enjoying your pregnancy!

Liz, I have had mega probs with getting onto Fb so thanks very much for being so brave and posting your number on here for me... glad they have deleted it for you now though!! Well done Henry!!!

Abbey/Alice,  all my books / info on milestones say children on average are able to eat with a spoon reasonably well by 18 months but many are later so don't worry that your wee ones aren't mastering it just yet! Also babies & toddlers will use their hands lots when easting as this is their way of exploring food and that it is natural and good for them, although a messy business for mum! I loved the bit that said it may not appeal to mum or dad to squish porridge through their fingers and mash it into their faces but to a toddler this is great exploration of texture and what it is all about! Jacob uses a combination of hands and spoon but by far prefers to eat with his hands!

Em, hope you had a great bday!

Joy, hope the pains pass quickly and glad you are feeling better... hope you are not working too hard and getting in some 'me' time to recharge... don't push yourself too hard hun!

Is Jacob the only one left to walk solo??!! I was always convinced he would walk early and still think he has been capable for some time but it is a confidence issue with him rather than ability so I am happy he will find it in his own time... he will walk no probs with a finger or a push along or with a few fingers on the furniture but is weary to let go even though when he does walk with support he is not really using the support if that makes sense!! He can stand solo and is very sturdy getting up and down, etc... he climbs everything, even the plastic slide at M&T's... he would climb for hours if he could and is obsessed with getting onto the couch, which he can achieve if anything, even a book is lying nearby so we try and keep the floor infront clear as once on the couch he has no sense of avoiding the edges and so falls easily... one thing is for sure jumping up to catch a falling child when you have a tummy the size of a hippo is not an easy task!!!

Anyway, must go as lots to do with no OH till late tonight as he is working in the city today instead of his usual office so getting the late train back... means doing bedtime routine by myself, which is hard for me now with a runaway wee man who thinks it is all a game and getting away from the change mat & PJs is his ultimate goal... with my groin strain and huge tum it is hard work to get him ready for bed on my own so will miss OH's help tonight!!

Take care, M xx

Morning girls! I am absolutely shattered! Kerenza kept us up till 2am last night, then I'm up at 5.30 am for work. Was running around yesterday evening putting rubbish out, cleaning the pantry cos it stank, making bottles, cooking tea, doing some washing etc etc. Finally say down to eat at about 10pm. Kerenza kept me upstairs till 9. She was playing in her cot and would not go off to sleep, but wouldn't let me leave her to it either!

Not sure how much longer I can keep doing this working full time with a young baby and being pregnant malarky. Its starting to get to me now! Won't have any rest this weekend either, as OH has tonsillitis and K is my responsibility this weekend as he had her all last weekend on his own!

Sorry don't mean to moan. Just knackered and got job to keep eyes open...not good as I'm currently at work! No point going home as I'd only have to look after K!!

Hope everyone else is ok. xx
