I think Tyler is having us on, I bet he'll be awake at 5am again!!!! Either that or he's nipped out to the pub as havn't heard a peep from him since 7! Fingers crossed he'll continue this! Tyler did the same thing as your froggy for a few weeks and he's slowly getting better. OH says he feels sorry for you!!! lol Obviously remembers the crying-hugging-feeding-crying-hugging-feeding and so on and sooo ooooon!!!!! It'll get better soon don't worry. Oh just reminded me I shouted and cried until he took the night off work a while back lol
Re baby weight: I think I still have mine! I didn't weigh myself after 6months preggers as I was afraid to look! SO I don't know how much if any I have lost. I signed up to Weight watchers a month ago which in the past has been brilliant! But, I have restarted it about 7 times since registering as I just can't stick to it this time! I'm too tired to think about counting points by the end of the day and I give up lol. I know I'll stick to it one day...
It doesn't help that most my old clothes aren't built for post-c-section. and belts, they are just evil lol. I'm still wearing my maternity jeans! Yikes! x x x
Pearl, you have just given me the perfect opportunity to brag about my weight loss. Actually i have no idea what i weigh as i never weigh myself but i had to go out and buy new clothes as all my pre-Caelen ones were too big. I was back in my jeans after 6 days and a week later went shopping for a smaller size. I am now a size 10 again and bloody happy about it too!
Caelen sleeping just now and with any luck that will be her till 6 or 7 tomorrow morning but shes been a bit grumpy lately so might wake for a feed about 3ish. Its my 2 boys who wont go to sleep tonight, little buggers they are.
Oh, Pearl, Trey is quite a cool name, cant give you any other suggestions though.
Well I went to bed at about 9 or 10pm lastnight. Tyler fed at 6:30pm, and didn't wake up again until 2:30am!! Then he slept until 5:30. Got him up for 6:30am feed and now he's having another little nap. I think he's getting used to the routine we're trying out. He went down with no crying lastnight, the only time he cried was thismorning (which he does everyday) and when he wanted feeding at 2:30am.
Wish I was a size 10 Paula!!! I think you may have given me the final bit of motivation to get onto WW properly. We'll see!!
Julz - Glad Tyler slept well, you always feel as though everthing else is achievable when you've had a good nights sleep.
Pearl - Hope Mr T sleeps more soon. On the baby weight, sorry but you're going to hate me! I am now in size 10 trousers (something I haven't been able to fit into in about 7 years) I'm sure that once I stop breastfeeding I will pile the pounds back on
Isla slept from 10 last night and has just woken now for breakfast. She now kicks and pushes herself all the time. She just banged her head when on her changing unit as she pushed herself backwards!
Julz, the routine sounds great, glad Tyler is starting to get used to it. Must be lovely having him asleep at 7pm and have the evening to yourselves. That is Logans most active time so me and OH spend all our time together at the moment entertaining and feeding baby trying to get him asleep for 11pm. Cant complain though, he is only 4 weeks old and is only waking up once in the night (touch wood) and thankfully no sign of the dreaded colic.
Pearl, you must need to have baby T registered by now? Had a quick look through my baby names book and cant find anything better than Trey. I assume it is no coinsidence that it means 'third born child'. As for the weight loss the breast feeding is definately helping. I am approx 2 stone lighter than before I gave birth and 10lb heavier than my pre pregnancy weight. No fitting into a size 10 for me though . Do seem to be steadily loosing weight without too much effort. C section slowed it down as less active than I would have been. Hope baby T improves with his colic soon, must be a nightmare.
Laura and Paula, look at you two slinky minxes! Enjoy your new clothes
Julz, the c-section makes clothes a total nightmare. Still spending most of my time in jogging bottoms . Feel like a right bag lady.
We had a great weekend at Mum and Dads. The meet Logan party went really well, although the poor little man was so over stimulated by the end of the night he didnt know where to put himself. Slept really well that night and all the next day though so well worth it .
Andrew not got a day off this week and all my visitors stopped coming to see me so got 5 days just me and the baby for the first time . Think I can drive ok though so will be giving that a go to escape madness and boredom.
Laura, I can't believe your little one sleep so long, get her to have a word with Tyler eh!? He too wriggles lots. We frequently find him at the top of his cot, or laying across it sideways lol.
Vicky, I spent ages in Pj's and jogging bottoms. Nearly 3months since my section and still in my maternity trousers. I only just now feel like I've not been operated on!! And I have a stone or two to lose!! gr!
So, I think it's day 4 or 5 on the routine now, and Tyler went to sleep with about 30seconds crying, which he put no effort into, it was more of a whimper lol. And he woke up at 5:30am today instead of the normal 4:30-5am!! Seems to be getting better now, slowly. Also we are using T Tippee Anti-Colic Plus bottles to see if they make a difference with his major wind issue lol.
Help Trey just feeding, feeding & mo feeding Julz I think hes got Tyler syndrome hubby & I can only recall him being up to eat , still not sleeping I think he dreams of food, he then burps, farts laids low for an hour & starts again its madness i tell u lol still up now been out all day had mo than 6oz since been in + breast milk no rountine is driving me crazy.
as for weight loss lost an stone & a bit was an size 8-10 b 4 pregnancy hoping to be again but got a along way to go lol
Hey, do you give Trey a dummy? (Oh yay you named Froggy!!) Tyler did that and when we gave him a dummy we realised he was just looking for comfort! Also sometimes you have to try to break the cycle of small feeds, cos if he's only taking a little he won't sleep long and will want more and more and more!! It's exactly what Tyler did. I don't really know what else to say...! I just feel sorry for you as I know exactly how exhausting it is!!!! x x x
Hey you should speak to people on the babycentre.co.uk forums (yeah I'm cheating on thinkbaby!) there's a whole section just for breast feeding or bottle feeding. x
Julz, think your right about breaking the small feed cycle. Logan is just starting to take in more at a time so he can go a bit longer between feeds but in the evening he is definately just sucking for comfort. When OH tried to give him an expressed bottle he was having none of it, even though he would normally drink it if he was really hungry. Got to try and entertain him some other way without just feeding him to shut him up.
Pearl, glad you have finally named Trey. Hope he settles down soon!
Well, baby brain struck big style last night. I had had a really good day and actually been organised enough to make some diner which was cooking on the hob in a pan. Andrew called for me to meet him with the dogs and Logan to go for a walk after work ( I have started driving again -yippee). I remembered to turn the pan off and went out. Came back to the fire alarm going off and smoking billowing out of the front door! Found that instead of turning the pan off like I thought I had, I had actually turned it from low to full power . The diner was burnt to a crisp and the house was totally full of smoke. Really glad I had the dogs with me cos god knows what would have happened to them. Andrew had to go and get a take away while I fed Logan in the garden (good job it wasnt raining). It was about 10pm before we decided it was smoke free enough to take him inside. The whole house now stinks. How on earth do I get rid off the smell???
Hope everyone else is well and is refraining from trying to burn their house down.
OMG Vicky!! Good thing you weren't in there! I do some silly things... I'm back on the pill now, and I forgot to take it this morning... How long before I'm back in the pregnancy forum eh!!! lol
I thought spending £30 on a baa-baa blind was a bit much, so just went to the nearest fabric shop and bought 2m blackout fabric for £9.98, got some suckers from the pound shop, and made my own!!!! Lets hope this helps Tyler sleep past the 5am mark!!!
Ugh, my OH is going back to work on Thursday after having had nearly 6weeks off work with Sciatica!! I havn't looked after Tyler on my own for 6whole weeks!! It will be a shock to the system I'm sure!! though, last time I did it all on my own, Tyler was doing what Trey is doing now... so It should be easier now!!
Vicky so glad you, andrew, logan & dogs are alrite at least it was only the dinner burned to a crisp & not the whole house lol thank God youre safe.
Julz have you heard of the 3mth patch thats what im considering but you cant be b/feeding so would suit you hate taking the pill so easy to forget. Good on you guys for getting youre groove on im still nowhere near interested a bottle of wine gets me more exicted especially as I cant drink at the mo lol
not sticking with Trey totally gone off it, it sounds so boring & I keep thinking of Ash trays & Trays nope have to think of something else talking of froggy up all day today till 6.30pm no sleep all day totally exhausted & fed up he finally nodded hopefully for the night.
Wow Pearl sounds like you are having a rough time of it hun, hope that froggy (as were back to calling hin) settles down soon for you. I cant actually offer anything useful that may help as Im extremely lucky to have a very easy baby. Hope he is down for the night now and you get some well deserved sleep xxx
Vicky, glad you are all ok and weren't n the house, no idea how to get rid of smell. like Pearl said at least it was just the dinner and not the house. Glad Logan is doing well xx
Julz, glad Tyler is getting into more of a routine now and you are getting much more sleep and rest, it makes it whole lot easier on everyone and you will be fine when oh goes back to work xx
Hope everyone else is doing ok xx
All good with me, I cant complain at anything as Toby is pretty much the easiest baby ever! He now has his last feed between 6pm-8pm and doesnt get up until about 6am sometimes its nearer 7am!! I am extremely lucky thats for sure. He nows weighs 12lb 10oz and is just over 8 weeks old so he is getting nice and podgy which is well cute!! And he smiles and coos so much now. Im just loving every minute of this thats for sure.
Sending all mums and babies lots of love and sleep vibes
Er Pearl, I may be on the pill but no groove-getting yet!! lol. Good thing too or I'd be back in another "due 2009" thread!! lol. Hope Froggy is good for you tonight!!
Kirsty, you think Toby is nice and podgy, try having a 16lb-er on your hands!! lol.
Pearl... you should be sleeping if Froggy is asleep!! If it's that rare a thing, then I'd be straight in bed! Go go go!!! x x x
Julz, 16 lb er!! bet he is so scrummy though!! Im thinking Toby may get that big he is putting on weight at a fast rate at the moment, its lovely!!
A quick question that Im unsure about if anyone can help...when do you put baby intheir own room at night? has anyone done that yet? Im not really sure when too, not sure if im ready too yet!!! Any help is greatly recieved!!
Vicky glad you are all ok. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I do something like that, my brain has definately melted since I became pregnant!
Julz - Hope you get on ok with the OH back at work. My OH is off to Vietnam next week for 3 weeks and I am dreading it.
Pearl - Hope Froggy settles into a routine soon. I found that a blackout blind and a dummy very my saviours for getting some sleep.
Kirsty - Glad Toby is growing well. All the information I have read recommends keeping the baby in your room until they are 6 months old. My friend put her wee boy in his own room at 1 month but I'm definately not ready and think Isla will be in our room unitl 6 months.
Hope all the other Mums and Babies are doing well.
Isla is still asleep, she will probably want fed soon though as she went to bed at 10 last night. She sleeps well but during the day is hard work as she wants you to hold her a lot so get nothing done in the house! As I said my OH is away next week for 3 weeks so god only knows what sort of a state the house will be in when he gets back
Hey, Kirsty, have a look at my chunky monkey on facebook! He is a biggun!!
Re:Cots; We have put Tyler into his own room now. It was really hard the first few nights as you think that every noise is him. And I laid awake most of the time trying to listen out for him lol.
Laura, I can't believe Isla sleeps so well!! Tyler went to bed at 7 again and woke at 1:30 for a feed, then woke up again at 6 demanding another!! lol. I can't complain really can I, not with some of the babies still wanting constant attention. I don't know how I got through that stage with Tyler!
Tyler's colic seems to slowly be getting better, if I think back to how he was a few weeks ago then I realise how bad it was!!! He has a few episodes of crying a day, the colicy type, not the normal baby crying hehe.
The black out blind i made really helped! He normally would have woken at about 430/5.
The house is smelling a bit better this morning, although a definate burnt smell still lingers.
Kirsty, Toby sounds like an absolute angel. No wonder you are enjoying it . Couldnt have Logan sleeping that long though, my boobs would be bursting. I woke him up at 4am this morning cos I couldnt last any longer before he fed as my boobs were so sore. Bet he complains to all his mates about the lack of sleep his mother lets him get .
Jo Frost recommends babies stay in your room until 4 months but i think it is just what you are happy with. I guess it is going to be hard to start with whatever age we do it.
Julz, how on earth do you get Tyler to sleep at 7pm? Logan is really awake in the evenings. OH was up untill 11.30pm last night trying to get him to sleep. Eventually I had him in bed with me for a feed and we both fell asleep. I woke up at 12.30am and put him in his cot.
Laura, must be a nightmare having hubby away for 3 weeks! Do you have anyone nearby who can give you a break or some help? Good luck hun x
Pearl, good luck with the name. Are you sure it wouldnt be easier to pick a name starting with something else other than T . I am going to have a coil fitted asap (another 2 weeks I think I have to wait) in case of any groove getting. Not very likely with sore boobs and a numb tummy .
Vicky, Tyler wouldn't sleep at 7 until last week, he would always stay up with us needing to be hugged or sleeping next to me on the sofa! I left him to cry last week after bathing, feeding, putting to bed, and went in every few minutes to settle him until he fell asleep! Took about 20minutes for him to get the picture and fall asleep. then it took about 10 the next day, and now he goes straight down and sleeps for 7 or 8hours!!!!
I have decided to NOW write a proper pregnancy diary. I have one of those free green ones that came with my notes, but I'm going to go back over this thread and write everything up, as I came on here nearly every day!! Am going to get a diary from mothercare, or the Dodo Big Book of The Bump. Bit late I know lol.
