Christina - nice to hear from you, glad you had a good trip.
Rebecca - Nice to hear from you too, glad Miriam is doing well. I put jpeg resize into google and managed to download a free tool that lets you resize pics.
Pearl - Hope Terelle was ok after his injections, it's so horrible to watch them being done.
Julz- don't worry about the weight, Mum's are too busy looking after our little angels to worry about these things. Just enjoy being with Tyler, I'm sure your weight will sort itself out. Hope you found more batteries, I can imagine the scene if they had run out
Hope everyone else s doing well and that the babies are all growing big & strong.
I took Isla to be weighed today and she has lost 1oz in 2 weeks. No idea how as all she does is eat! HV said not to worry she might just be going through a growth spurt and to take her back in 2 weeks to be weighed again. Have any of the other babies lost any weight? Bought a mobile for Isla's crib today and she loves it, so nice to see her enjoying it.
Off to sort out the washing now whilst Isla is having a wee nap. Hope she doesn't sleep too long. last night she woke at 4am for a feed, was a shock to my system as she has been sleeping through the night for about 6 weeks now. Hopefully it was a one off (fingers crossed for a full night tonight)
Tyler?? Lose weight? Peh you must be having a laugh!!! Haha! He must be over 18lbs now... Havn't had him weighed in 3weeks and last count he was 16lb 8oz!!
Babies do have periods of their weight going up down or staying the same. I wouldn't worry Though Tyler's generally goes up... fast... lol
I know what you mean about shocks to the system. Because Tyler has been sleeping through for 3weeks now, if he even makes a noise I get tired because I'm used to getting about 9hours sleep a night!
Good to here Isla's doing good though!!
I'm finally making use of the Weight Watchers online that I signed up to 2MONTHS AGO!!! lol. OH is really in diet mode so luckily it should be easy for me now as he is the main problem with our eating!!! lol
Well, we are going to the Dr's this afternoon, as we think Tyler either has Silent Reflux, or has an intolerence to something in the formula... Loads of little things that I hadn't put together until recently made me wonder. I have spoken to people on another forum and they all seem to think he has classic symptoms of silent reflux. I've told the HV's so many times that something isn't right, and even said that to the Dr at his 6week check and all I got was "he's normal". I know there IS something wrong and hopefully today I will get an answer!!!!
Will come back and let you all know how we get on tonight.
Julz, hope it goes alright for you at the doctors and you get an answer.
Hope everyone else is doing good.
Well Toby is at my mums for the whole night and probably tomorrow night as well. She has been begging me for ages to let her have him overnight!! Its going to be so horrible not having him here!!!! Got some friends coming over tonight so hopefully that should take my mind off it!! Apart from that all good as always. Got his jabs on monday.
Evelyn since Tuesday isn't eat properly. Maybe it's side effects from the holidays because she was with so many people and now it's only me and Artur. Will see in the next days.
hey Julz how did Tyler get on at docs? what were his symptoms if u dont mindme asking?
Hows everyoneelse doing?
Kirsty Toby going away overnight ur so brave it has t be done sometime it will be hard the first time though,
Christina how are u have u recovered from ur holiday? im sure evelyn isjust having sideeffects of holiday or it could be her injections if r worried u should call the health visitor,
Aiden is so well im just loving him at the moment big smiles and giggles all the time its so nice tosee him change like that
Julz hope dr's goes well and you get an answer, you have to stick to your guns, I think mum's just know if something isn't right.
Glad to hear that Toby and Aiden doing so well - Kirsty you are brave, I don't think I could manage the separation from Miriam.
Cristina, sure it is just the change that's unsettled Evelyn, but Ash is right, you should call hv if worried, or take her to weighing clinic and speak to one there.
We're good in general, poor Miriam has her first cold (only a matter of time with young children in the house) she's so snuffly and has gummy eyes and has been a bit miserable today - not her normal mellow self. Hasn't got a temperature so I'm just giving her saline drops in the nose to clear it to help her feed and sleep. She's been breastfeeding more than normal - probably just for comfort. Poor little thing, I feel so bad for her - then she tries to get all smiley but can't keep it up long. Had her first picnic today which she cried through then we all collected blackberries with my mum. Eli and Freya enjoyed it but I was a bit precarious with Miriam on a front sling and me climbing through the brambles!
Julz hope Tyler is ok but as Ash said what are the sympthoms of silent reflux? & dont listen to anyone you know Tyler better than anyone youre doing the right thing if in doubt get it checked out.
Kirsty you lucky thing wish I can have a night off lol I must admit im going to miss the boys once they go back to school on Tuesday.
Ash I totally agree the smiles & coos are heavenly
Took Terrelle to the pool today with Tyler & some friends ( no I didnt get in this body is def not ready for that lol) but we sat & watched just as much fun im sure Terrelle wanted to get in lol is anyone elses babies rolling from side to side & lurching towards things im sure hes to young to do those things but totally forgot the stages when they do things as theres a 10yr gap between Terrelle & Tyler.
Terrelle was terrible after injections he got the fever they warn about & cried for 24hrs alrite now fortunaley but still not friends with the nurse as injections left an nasty bump on both legs & I really felt every bit of pain he went thru I know its the lesser of two evils but still hearbreaking gosh im so melodramtic these days must be the hormones or lack of them.
Becky Sorry to hear Miriam is unwell its so sad when babies have colds but saline drops should do the trick I used to love picking blackberries as a child even if it was in a friends garden lol good to have you back.
Terrelle fell asleep @ 8.30pm yesterday, then woke @3am kept me up till 5, fell asleep til 7am & is up now totally shattered yet cant sleep have the boys football run to do catch everyone later
Those are the symptoms of normal reflux. Silent reflux is where they don't, or rarely are actually sick. Tyler spits up acid and gasps when feeding sometimes which are common symptoms of silent reflux apparently.
The Dr said he DOESN'T have reflux, and I have to take him back in a week to get him on Soya milk to see if he's happier on that. It didn't help that he sat through the entire thing with a smile on his face!! lol I actually found the Dr rather patronising with some of the things she said. Although she came to the conclusion that she thinks there is nothing wrong, I don't trust her as she got a medical dictionary out to check!! Hopefully this next doctor will be better and have some clue what she is on about.
Becky, hope Miriam gets better soon, must be horrible for you both!!!
Kirsty, hope you're getting on alright without Toby!
Cristina, I'm sure Evelyn is just getting over the holiday, she'll be back to herself in no time.
Pearl, hope you get a better night tonight. Tyler woke up at 4 a few nights ago, what a shock that was after having been sleeping until 6am every day for 3weeks lol.
I need to have a little rant. Is anyone else finding arguements a little more frequent recently? I seem to argue with my OH every day about something! He keeps making little comments about things that actually upset me! Like when he's been working all day and comes home to find nothing done, but doesn't realise Tyler has been crying virtually ALL day and I didn't even have time to eat. I don't even like to say when I'm tired cos he's been working all day and thinks I've been sat at home doing naff all or something. Just stupid things like that, and sometimes he makes comments that he says are just a joke but it actually quite gets to me. Ugh, same every day...
Hope everyone else is doing good anywho! Take care. Julz and Tyler x x x
Julz - Sorry to hear about the doctor, hopefully you get someone better next time. You know your baby better than anyone else so stick to your guns. Sorry about arguments with OH too. My OH has been away for work for 2 weeks so has been no arguments for a while but I understand what you mean. I hate it when my OH comes home and the first thing he says is what's for dinner, eh barely had time to put Isla down all day. Would be nice if he had a bit more consideration sometimes. When he gets back I am going for a day out with a friend and he is having Isla for the day, sure he will understand better what it's like after that, maybe you should leave Tyler with your OH for a bit let him see what it's like.
Becky - Hope Miriam feels better soon, I am dreading the first time Isla gets ill.
Kirsty - How did you and Toby get on with the overnight stay? We are going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and Isla is staying overnight with my Mum. Dreading leaving her but sure she will do better than me.
Pearl - hope you had a better night with Terelle. I am hoping to take Isla swimming soon, I was scared of swimming as a kid and don't want her to be. Hopefully managed to take her soon.
Isla has been quite good with her Daddy away. She has been sleeping well but has been a bit cranky in the day as it is so humid. I know it's horrible to wish this but I am so looking forward to usual miserable weather returning. Off to have some breakfast before Isla wakes.
Well laura ur right its ben pouring all day here anyway.
Julz u know tyler better than anyone and if u think thats what he has then stick to ur guns, with reguards to oh mine has been fine but like Laura said if he was left with tyler for a day it might make him realise but then it would prob be sods law that tyler would be the perfect child for him and make it seem like ur making a drama out of nothing that sort of thing always happens to me when ur trying to prove a point lol
Pearl i hope ur getting more sleep now
Becky poor miriam i feel so sorry for the wee ones when there not well
oh well think aiden waking for his last feed he usually goes donw about tenish and hopefully that will be for the night
Terrelle Back to normal routine asleep @ 10pm wakes about 6am im dreading 3mths injections it will be a week before baptism thats all I need.
All is well with us Terrelle woke up with a big smile this morning & not the usual cry it was so refreshing
Julz I agree with Ash & Laura stick to your guns you have to wait two weeks for a appt only for them to look up the sympthons on the net, they are only good for prescriptions thats my rant for today I tell you they really annoy me lately.
Julz - Sorry to hear about the Dr. appointment but you know Tyler better them anyone so follow your instincts.
Becky - hope Mirriam it's better now.
I call HV today because Evelyn started eating less amd less during the weekend. She even done a gap od 5 hours during the day time without eating. I try everything and my husband the same but she didn't eat. HV advise me to see GP so i book today. He saw her and believe she still with side effects from the injections but to try weight her this week and see. He ask for a urine sample in case an urinary infection. That's a thing will be not easy because i'm alone with her until next week and GP gave me a bottle like that we use to your urine samples what's impossible to me do that. How i hold her and put the bottle under to have theurine? Well my husband gave me the solution. I sterilize a jug and try hold her until she manage to pee to there and transfere the urine to the bottle. So fingers cross with that and i hope the results are back soon and negative. I'm now worry with the 3 injections.
Julz, im with everyone, you know your baby better than the doctor, stick toyour guns hunand keep going back for answers.
Pearl, glad to hear Terrelle woke up smiling, its lovely when its like that. and its good he is back to routine.
Cristina, hope that everything will be ok with Evelyn, sounds like a nightmare trying to get her to pee!!!
Hope everyone else is ok.
Toby just had his ijections and went straight to sleep after a little whinge but e is just waking up now and is not happy!! It was not nice the other night without him either lol, although the break was refreshing!!
Just been catching up on your posts, I seem to have totally forgotten to look at them for over a week now.
Becky, good to hear from you. Glad Miriam is generaly doing well, hope she is better from her cold soon.
Cristina, good to hear from you too. Hope Evelyn is ok and you get her feeding sorted.
Stuggling to remember everything people have said over the past week. I have booked Logan in for his 8 week injections next Tuesday. Not looking forward to it at all. I am supposed to be going out with NCT girls the following day. Is that likely to be a nightmare?
Julz, know what you mean about having more arguments with OH. Andrew keeps asking what the matter is with me cos I keep snapping at him, which is not like me (not very often anyway). We have started going for long walks wiht the baby when Andrew is off work cos he is asleep in the sling and we can get to talk to each other and i can chill out a bit. Dogs are loving it!
We have started walking the Cleveland Way in small sections. It is 109 miles in all and loops around the North York Moors national park. So far the longest I have walked is 8 miles in one go so getting a bit fitter. Weight loss has totally stopped though cos eating lots of crsips and chocolate to compensate for the walking . Only about half a stone heavier than when I got pregnant but was too heavy then so should lose a stone. Dont think I could get my head around a diet though. Good luck Julz!
Pearl, glad you got up to a smile. Totally makes it all worth it. Logan is smiling loads now but Granny wants a picture of him smiling and he is not playing ball for the camera yet.
Kirsty, not sure how you managed a whole night without Toby. Must have been lovely for your mum to have him though. Wish I lived closer to my parents, I miss them loads more now I have Logan cos I want them to see him as he changes so quickly. Going down for my 30th birthday in 3 weeks, which will be lovely.
Ash- maybe it wasn't wise for me to wish for rain as it is still raining! Oops sorry - I apologise to all in central Scotland.
Pearl - Glad Terrelle is sleeping well.
Christina - Is Evelyn any better? Hope you managed to get the urine sample, can imagine it must be very tricky.
Kirsty - Is Toby ok after his jabs? Hope he has recovered and is doing well.
Vicky - wow walking the Cleveland way I am impressed. I could certainly do with becoming a bit fitter, am going to try going to the gym again. I love body combat but my OH gets scared when I go to that class all the punching and kicking!
BF question for all. Has anyone had any alcohol to drink since having the babies and if so did you feed afterwards. I am going to a wedding reception a week on Friday and hope to have a little drink (sure 2 glasses and I will be away with the fairies!) my Mum is looking after Isla but it I express when I come home do I have to get rid of the milk. Spoke to HV at bf group and he said only small amounts of alcohol passed to milk and it is ok to use the milk. Feel a bit paranoid about it though, has anyone else had a drink since their baby arrived?
Isla is having a sleep just now so nice to be able to type without her on my lap! She woke at 3am last night fed for an hour!! and then went back to sleep until 7.30 so bit tired today. I am hoping she doesn't repeat that tonight but the longer she sleeps now the less likely an unbroken nights sleep looks.
Hope all the Mums and babies are doing well today.
Hi laura to answer ur question i had a drink and then when i got home that evening expressed it away down sink then used next feed ok
Any advice appreciated: Since Aiden was born he will only sleep when swaddled in a blanket which has been fine except now hes started to kick the blanket off and get his hands free and the minute he gets free he wakes up so last nite we had a very broken sleep does anyone have advice on how to get him out of the habbit of needing swaddled if i put him down without being swaddled he just wakes up and crys not sure if i should just persevere with him crying until he gets used to it just wandered if anyone else has the same problem.
Not sure if this will help with the hand issue but Isla sleeps in a sleep bag which means she can't kick the covers off and wake in the night. Have you tried a sleep bag?
Hope you find something that works for Aiden and for the bf advise.
