just waiting for SIL to come over with the kids and Skye's napping so i thought i'd pop on quick...

Steff, I bet your son will be so chuffed with all the new clothes - is he allowing you to buy them or is that a girls thing...you know we always want to choose our stuff especially teenagers!!!!

Funerals are so horrible - as i said went to one yesterday.  It all happened so quick for him with him being fine 4 weeks ago and then then went to the docs as he was aching, doc sent him away saying it was arthiritus and then few days later rushed to hospital only to be told he had cancer in lungs, kidneys and bones all over - couldnt even offer him chemo as he was too weak...so sad and to think he was fine few weeks ago but he had a good send off.

Hope your aunt's funeral goes well (as can be expected under the circumstance).  Sorry for your loss.

Oh meant to ask - what car seat has everyone bought and would you recommend?  We are now looking to get Skye the next stage seat.

OMG Em! That's amazing news - big congrats  Doesn't suprise me you're the first - unless there are others hiding news!!!

Lois - I bought the Maxi-cosi priori xp, which I have no gripes about and they do them in a range of designs!

I have been keeping up with the news on here but just don't ever seem to find the time to actually sit and type a message...and now I'm too tired to remember what every one said on the previous page so I'll try and get on tomorrow when I'm a bit more refreshed (what am I talking about, I'm going to be cooking up some meals/cleaning tomorrow!) and comment.

I really can't believe how quickly our little ones change. I'm so proud of Oscar - he has settled back into his normal sleeping at night after his croup, he is really stable on his lean on walker thing and he is constantly letting go of things and taking a few steps! Oh and yesterday he decided to stand up without leaning on anything of support, it was amazing but very scary as he was outside on concrete at the time!

Hi girls,

Em, that is such good news!  Congratulations!

Lois, we got a Recaro Young Sport for Emily.  They make seats for racing drivers so I figured they knew what they were doing. It is easy to fit and will take her until she is about 11.  It supports her nicely and she even looks comfy when she is sleeping.  I've fitted an extra rear view mirror so I can see her behind me.

Lois, I'm not buying him new clothes, these are clothes he has had in his wardrobe for ages and forgotten about.  Dope.  He wears the same hoodie and two pairs of jeans all the time.  I have to prise them off him to wash them.  I don't know if he has access to laundry facilities on camp so I have to make sure I pack enough for the 10 days.

How self centred of me, I didn't ask how anyone was in my last post.  I hope everyone else is good and babies are doing well.

Rach, how independant is Oscar?  Clever boy!

We took Emily to the park a few days ago.  She didn't want to crawl off the blanket at first, but once off there was no stopping her!  She doesn't like the taste of grass no matter how often she tried!

She looks miles away, but she was only a few feet away from us.  I just loved the image of this tiny girl in a huge expanse of outside.

The kids came down today for DH's birthday.  The oldest brought her BF to meet us.  How old did I feel?  I was calling the "kids" for dinner and I realised that I was also refering to a 22 year old as one of the kids!  He was really nice and Emily likes him.  She kept looking at him and smiling.  If I didn't know better I would say she was flirting with him!

Well, I've prattled on for long enough

Love to all

Steff and Emily

I moved back to the Uk a year ago, it feels like yesterday. I really miss it but there were to much problems with my lads family. Id like to go over there for holidays but cant just now and hes over there sorting his family out, mainly his mum while im stuck here (happy to be in Scotland) with the wee yin and my famill pissed of around me about him. Ive just settled in to a house but have to move out of it and that has to be sorted before he comes back or we''l not have enough money to live together as he doesnt speak english and its really hard for him to work. On the upside Im setting up my own business and im an usborne organiser and i love doing that. I have an amazing girl whos growing up way to fast and my familys around me sooo....

Dont feel you have to answer to much of that, its good just saying out to someone who isnt going to judge my every move.

Are you from Spain?

Show/hide user stats
No im from Uk but been over here about 9 years now, i bet you feel better getting that out, stick with it your OH will soon learn english and get a job and then you will be happy ever after, whats a usborn organiser anyway as ive never heard of that? Bet your glad anyway that your back near your family, as thats the only thingabout living over here that i miss. i reackon you should put some music on and dance that always makes me feel better. Oh and good luck with the move and hope your OH gets back to you soon.
Show/hide user stats

Aaw thanks, i do feel better. I m the same with the music, my uncles staying with me for a while so ive not really been able to. Ive had to send him and the babe around to my mums a few times to do that htough and it does help.

9 years is a long time, how do you find the culture differences? It was quite hard for me over the time. I was there 6 years. I grew up thereand love the place as much as i love Scotland but had the big fight with the mother inlaw and ruined it for a while.

Usborne is a book publisher. I sell the books at stalls, schools, home parties and libraries. There lovely books! There logos a hot air baloon, you'll have seen them about, theyre everywhere.

Are you working in Spain? Is your husband english?

Show/hide user stats
Oh what a good job, and you can take your little girl with you too i guess i will have to look out for the hot air baloon logo now. My OH is spanish so yes there is a culture difference, so i kind of know where your coming from but im lucky as OH family leave us to it, i was working but left when i had my baby as the hours would not of worked out well and i wanted to be at home with Liliana while she is small. anyway i must go as shes in need of a nap as she had me up at 6am this morning!!! gurhhhhhhhhh
Show/hide user stats

Oh Em...a massive congrats to you and OH.  Great news indeed!!!! How are feeling? What does that make you then about 6wks????

No rach, still waiting for Skye to turn 1 and then we'll be at it like rabbits for a bit and then down there will be closed up for any actions....I really do feel like i've no time anymore for that..i can count how many times we've been at it in one hand lol

Welcome to Oct o7 siobhan - hope you find it as useful as i've had...i dont know what i would have done without the girls here.  It sounds like you've had a rough time of it - always let it off here cos we're all here to support each other.

Skye's taking more interest in reading now...she wanders off now and actually brings a book to me to read to her ( i cant remember the last time she sat still).  She's also getting more bruises now - she wandered off the other day at our mother and baby group whilst i was chatting away to other mums obviously wanting to play with the older children outside she walked outside but was not able to judge the step outside and totally went crashing on her forehead on a pavement...thats the joy of them walking - i cant chat anymore!!!!!

thanks for the car seat info - Steff i bet Emily takes in interest in racing now that you've started her off.  Do they have women equivalent to formula 1 drivers?

Lou, are you back from hol yet...
