Hi girls! How are you all?

I'm feeling sick as a pig. Guess what? I can only stomach greasy food like chips, sausages and fried egg. Boy am I gonna be a slummy mummy. Conversely, I have a craving for fruit. Not sure if this is likely to offset the damage caused by all that saturated fat though. Will have to get that novovirus again once jellybean is 6 months old or so....

Got a bedroom dilemma now. Not sure what to do with our house. Our boxroom has no heating-but would make a fine tiny bedroom for either DJ or jellybean. Need to look into radiator installation.

Am seeing Nigella Lawson midwife at the end of the month. Hmm. Can't seem to avoid her. All the doctors and mws love her too. Hope she's nice this time. If not, i will defo change.

Lou your pics are lovely from your hols. I'll put some on too when i get chance.

Had a big lie in today till 10, and my back is as stiff as a board.

DJ's lastest skills are: Standing unaided for a few second, Walking pushing his baby walker, eating a whole banana by himself, and saying daddy and momomom. SO PROUD! He also tries to make me laugh all the time, by repeating a silly noise with a big grin on his face. IN the supermarkets, if her sees another child, he clears his throat until they see him, then he waves and beams at them.

OMG, can't believe our little bundles are nearly 1... I think we are just doing a family tea party this year- that will still give us about 4 other babies and kids. Got the invites and accessories already.

Have a good day girls.

Hi Everyone

Oh Em poor you!  I don't miss the sickness for one second!  I am a teeny bit jealous your are preggers though!  I am getting very broody and I see pregnant women everywhere lol!!  Ah Dj is doing so well!!  I hope you manage to sort the bedroom dillema out!

I can't believe how much my girl is eating at the moment!  She is like a human dustbin!  Just been round to my friend's house and she had biscuits on a plate on the sofa.  My Lilly wanders over and grabs a ginger snap and wolfs the lot ha ha ha!  This is after eating a MASSIVE bowl of tuna pasta for lunch!  Its all that adventuring she is doing!

Oh Lilly has her first hour at nursery next week!  Then she does 2 hours and then a full morning!  Quite looking forward to going back to work!  It's only one day a week and it means I get to be me instead of Lilly's mum for a change!  How did you guys feel when you went back to work??

Love to all

Lou + Lilly xx

Show/hide user stats

Oh Lilly well done for the eating I sure wish my girl was the same , every feeding time here is like feeding time at the zoo, in goes the food and out comes the hands waving around as shes yapping away, then the food goes everywhere. Shes ok with finger food but I cant come up with more ideas.

Was wondering how much milk / food are babies having now.

Oh Em im too soooooo jealous.

Gota go Lili's up to her old tricks again xx be back later x

Show/hide user stats

Hi girls!

I haven't been on for ages, I'm so sorry.

Em, I'm not at all jealous of you.  I never want to go through the sickness again!  Hang in there, deep breaths, it doesn't last forever.

You made me laugh saying what DJ does when he sees another child.  Aw bless!

Lou, I can't believe Lilly ate a whole biscuit by her self.  Em can eat like a horse, but she still gags on anything lumpy.  Em's main meal has always been at lunchtime, but I want to change that to tea time now.  I gave her a jam sandwich for lunch yeaterday cut into tiny squares and no crusts and she ate it!  All by herself.  About half of it went down and the other half landed on the floor (lucky dog), and she had her usual teatime yoghurt for afters, and her dinner and pudding in the evening.  She seemed to manage the change very well.  Any ideas for sandwich fillings?  I don't want to give her paste, or mayo (eggs or tuna) or honey or peanut butter until she is a year old.  It has to be something fairly smooth, but what?

Kirst, Em has a Weetabix or Readybrek (Tesco's equivelant) and 6oz bottle for breakfast, sandwich (2 slices of bread), fruit or veg sticks and yoghurt with 6oz bottle for lunch, dinner is a jar of food or something homemade (spag bol tonight), pudding is jelly or a milk pudding (tapioca, rice, semolina all homemade) with 6oz bottle and supper is 8oz bottle before bed.  She usually has a beaker of juice throughout the day too, but she doesn't drink much of it unless it is really hot.

Lou, I know what you mean about being you.  Just wait until she goes to school and to all the other kids your name will be "Lillysmum".  THat really took me by surprise when John went to school!

Speaking of nursery, I need to fill in the forms for Em's place.  I don't even know if they can fit her in.

Love to all

Steff and Emily

Hey Lou, Lilly's pic is in the newsletter.  Loving the shades!
Show/hide user stats
Steff, your Em eats well, and all that milk too, my Lili needs lessions from your Em, I was thinking maybe Lili had too much milk so she didnt want to much food but shes not even having as much milk as Em, the little madam, well at least shes putting on weight i guess.

Hi Guys

How are we all doing?  How is the morning sickness Em?

What finger foods have you been giving Lili, Kirst?  I give Lilly sandwiches, fish fingers, toast, cheerios, fruit, veg, rice cakes etc.  Talking of sandwiches Steff what about Dairylea?  Lilly loves the stuff and so do I lol!

Te he he I saw my girl on the newsletter!  I was very impressed they picked that picture!  Those shades lasted like 2 minutes before they were off!

On a day Lilly has: Breakfast - Weetabix/Cheerios/Ready Brek made up with 3oz cows milk, slice of bread and water. Midmorning - 6oz formula. Lunch -  Tuna Pasta/Spag B/Salmon with potatoes and veg/Beef and sweet potatoe etc, fruit and water. Midafternoon - Banana/Rice Cakes/Biscuits and water. Tea - Scrambled Egg & soldiers/Fish Fingers, sweet potatoe and peas/Cauliflower Cheese, a yoghurt and water.  Bedtime - 7oz formula!  So she only has a bit of milk now!  Try to get her to drink cows milk with her breakfast but she won't have any of it!  Stubborn little madam!

Oh Lilly's christening is coming up and I am very excited!  Got her dress on Sunday!  It's beautiful!  Seen some shoes and a cardigan in Monsoon so all I need to sort is my outfit te he he!  Why am I always last these days??

Take care all

Lou xx

Hi ladies!

Lou, congrats to Lilly for getting into the newsletter! A budding star! Good luck for the christening too. Have decided to have DJ and Jellybean done at the same time and have a joint christening. Ever Frugal Emma strikes again. It'll be like buy one get one free.

I give DJ the following fingerfoods:

Rice cakes, satsumas, peaches (he attacks it, I hold it) plums, bananas, biscuits (i know, i am a bad mummy-but it's an occasional treat) toast with marmite, butter or jam, sandwiches with laughing cow, chopped bits of ham, chopped bits of cucumber, or little pieces of tomato. He does filch the odd titbit from unhealthy slummy mummy Em, he particularly enjoys naan bread with mild curry, chips, cakes, small pieces of meat and fish.

Also, DH and I took DJ for his first McDonalds happy meal. He had the fish burger (I took the batter off) and fries, orange juice and an apple puree.

Well, DJ's daily menu usually consists of:

First thing: 6oz milk (or moo moo as we call it! haha. I'm going nuts)

Breakie 8am: 1 weetabix with 4oz milk & 3 oz bottle milk to drink

Lunch 12noon: 1 jar stage 2 food (200g) and a satsuma or banana or other fruit

Dinner: 1 stage 2 jar baby fodder and a baby pudding or another piece of fruit.

Snacks: when demanded by Mr. DJ. Including: wotsits, baby crisps, fruit

Looking at it, I'm not feeding the poor lad that much. May discuss with HV at next clinic.

Steff, maybe Em doesn't like the beaker? If I only offer DJ a beaker all day, he will only drink a little. If, however, I give him a 10oz bottle of jiuce/water mix he will down it like he's downing a yard of ale at his best mate's stag do. I just use the beaker with mealtimes now, cos he really doesn't like it.

Does anyone have problems brushing their little dot's teeth? Dj struggles for the first 10 seconds, then firmly removes the toothbrush from my hand, turns it round and puts the handle part in his mouth.

Well, sickness is marginally better thanks girls. I managed to force some iceberg lettuce down my neck last night, but it was raging in my tum like war of the worlds. DH was horrified at the noxious gas that erupted. WHAT CAN I DO????? Have bought some bifidus digestivus yogurt to try and ease my stomach discomfort.

I'm entering 12th week on thurs, so will soon be in that heavenly 2nd trimester. The 1st trimester sucks really doesn't it?

Well, on that note, i'm off to bed. Feel so tired!

Lotsa love Em x

Show/hide user stats

Poor you Em, hope you feel better when you reach the second trimester. I'm glad we're talking about food, I was wondering what other babies are eating. At the moment Harvey is heavily into feeding himself. If we are all sat at the table together he will not be fed but will only eat the same as us, with his fingers. It does get very messy! A normal day goes something like this.

5-6am 8oz formula.

8am breakfast - porridge mixed with cow's milk and apple puree. He sometimes wolfs this down and sometimes refuses it completely. He then has a slice of toast or a crumpet when I have mine. If I don't give him his own he pinches mine off my plate.

lunch - half a jar stage 2 or 3 baby food if he's eating by himself or a sandwich - usually ham but am going to get some dairylea as I hadn't thought about that and I love it. Yoghurt or banana

mid-afternoon 8oz formula, rice cakes or biscotti

tea - whatever w4e're having

7.30 90z formula.

If he's hungry he goes to the cupboard to pinch custard creams - I will have to put them on a higher shelf. He will also eat cubes of chees, carrot sticks, cucumber. I must try him with more fruit. When I gave him a satsuma he didn't like the skin but I could peel the segments.

He loves chips - I think it's because they are easy to eat. If we are in MacDonalds he will take Elliott's chips out of the bag if he can reach.

With Elliott I was quite strict with his diet - no chips chocolate, all organic etc but he turned into quite a fussy eater and loves junk so I'm giving Harvey more of what we eat and hopefully he'll be less fussy.

Lou, hope the christyening goes well - willl you puit pictures on here?

Em, I'm not surprised you are doing 2 christening at once. At my mum and dad's church they had a wedding followed by the kids christening - very bargainous.

Better go and get dressed - me and Harvey are still in our pyjamas!

Hi All

Hope everyone is OK!  Can't believe you are 12 weeks already Em!  Did it go a lot faster than last time?  Those first weeks really dragged for me!  Bet they won't when I have a Lilly to look after ha ha ha ha!!

Glad you're OK Kath - was wondering where you were!  How is work going?  Wow Harvey eats loads!  And he is so good with self feeding!  You have the right idea about giving him what you eat!  Lilly is also terrible about nicking food if she doesn't have any!!

Think my girl is coming down with something!  She was still alseep when hubby went to work at 7.15 this morning (unheard of - 6 is more her style)!  I put her back to bed at 9.30 for her midmorning nap and she is still asleep!  Been making food for her cos my freezer is empty!

Enjoy your day

Hi girls,

Here is a link to a few photos. Couldn't remember my password for photobucket do this is photobox!

<iframe frameborder="0" style="width:700px;" src="http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/hosted/28726660"></iframe>

Lou, the 12 weeks has gone very fast hun, Its because I am always occupied with DJ, and haven't got lots of free time to moon about on the internet like my pregnancy with DJ.

Kath, i'm really impressed that you get Harvey eating what you all eat. I don't think DJ could eat the rubbish i'm shovelling down me at the moment.

Em x

Show/hide user stats

I'm not sure exactly how much Harvey eats. A lot of it seems to end up on the floor/allover him/ down the sides of his high chair! He tried rabbit stew last night but he didn't like it (neither did Elliott).

The boys are off swimming at the moment. I've been in work today for the GCSE results - they all did well so that's a relief. I'm a bit annoyed though as I walked into my office and it's being painted which is nice cos it was dingy but nobody told me and the painters have moved all my stuff. I'm a bit concerned about coursework, Cd roms resources etc that was in there not to mention my personal stuff. I bet I've got to put it all back too!

Harvey's sleeping is still rubbish. It's a good night if he sleeps until 5. Quite a lot of the time he wakes up at 1 or 3 as well. Hoped we would have it cracked by the time September came round.

I can hear the boys coming back from swimming - better go and let them in.

Take care everyone

Kath

Hi All

Em - can't seem to get your link to work! Can you try it again - I would love to see some pics of DJ!  Do you have a bump yet?  They say it comes quicker second time around!

Glad all your students did well Kath!  You must be proud!  God I would be so annoyed if somebody moved all my stuff in my office!

Well I have had a nice day!  Lilly was foul yesterday but she is in a much better mood today!  Giggling all the time which I love.  We have been to Rhyme Time at the library which she really enjoys!  We have polished the house and changed all the bed linen!  She has slept for an hour and a half and I have cleaned alln the floors!  Just got the cooker top to do!  Oh I love having a nice clean house!

Ah Kath sorry to hear Harvey still doesn't sleep well.  Before we went on holiday Lilly was waking up once or twice in the night and then waking up at 5/5.30??!!?!  But since her 6 teeth have come through she is sleeping through again and not waking up till 7!  God I was shattered!  I bet you are too!

Take care all

Lou xx

Evening all, feels like an age since I was last on, I have missed so much!

Em - really can't believe you are nearly 12wks already, only 6 months left

Kath - you're not alone with Harvey not sleeping all the way through. I've got a friend who's little girl is 13months and she still rarely sleeps all night - I don't know how she manages it and still looks wide awake in the day - I'm tired even when Oscar sleeps through!

Steff - what about marmite? or grated cheese (although it never really stays in the sandwich!).

Oscar eats:

Breakie - weetabix, porridge or readybrek with fruit/fruit puree. Boobie juice.

Snack mid-morning - homemade rusk, fruit or a bit of my toast (still find that I need something mid-morning)

Lunch - Sandwich with marmite, peanut butter, dairylea or toast with the same toppings or some tinned tomatoes and grated cheese. Usually a tomato or piece of cucumber and sometimes chunks of cheese. Dessert is fruit salad or yoghurt.

Mid-afternoon - boobie juice

Dinner - Normally what we have eaten for dinner the previous day, unless it's something unsuitable i.e take away or something with salad then he'll have stuff I've made for him and frozen like salmon footballs, steak stew, cod and veg etc. Dessert is fruit if he had yoghurt at lunch or custard and fruit/rice pudding and fruit if he had fruit at lunch!

Then boobie juice before bed.

Can't remember how long ago I posted so I can't remember if I said Oscar wasn't his usual cheery-self. He has finally got himself back to normal after a week of basically sitting on my lap all day and crying if I put him down so I could go to the loo or something else where I couldn't hold him. I have put it down to his teeth as he wasn't off his food but certainly wasn't bothered if he missed is mid-morning snack or if his dinner/lunch was late. Yesterday you could have fried an egg on his cheeks and this morning his slept in until ten to 8 (normally we're up between 6 and 6:45) and cheeks were normal again....but can't feel any more teeth through.

Anyway feel like I've typed enough for you all to fall asleep reading! Off to tidy up the house a bit

Show/hide user stats
Just thought - drinks during the day - I found that Oscar hardly drinks any water (apart from on a really hot day) but will drink it if I put a teeny tiny bit of juice in it. He has also moved on to a beaker thing with a straw - which he loves drinking from although he is still lazy and generally makes me hold it for him!
Show/hide user stats

I'm back!

Just wanted to ask...how have people's periods returned since breastfeeding? I had my first period a couple of months ago when I dropped Oscar's feeds to only 3 a day but nothing since...

Show/hide user stats

Hi Rach,

My periods returned when DJ was 6 months old. I was down to 1bf during the night at that point.

Lou, as you may know by now, I am crap at technology! Here are a few of our holiday pics:

Did I tell you ladies about the day we went to the beach with DH's Aunt? WE walked about a mile carrying DJ cos it was sand and shingle path. We got there and the first thing greeting me, was a very large man, completely naked with his legs akimbo. Well, i'm not a prude, but I nearly brought my breakfast back up. I was praying he was wearing flesh coloured underpants, but no. Alas, he was in his birthday suit.

The best of it was, once we had settled in a nice area on this beach, we looked around us, and noticed more and MORE elderly nudies coming out of the woodwork! I have simply NEVER seen so many old wrinkled naked bodies in my life. It was horrendous. DJ was eating sand that day. Wet AND dry, so we didn't stay that long for the sake of our son's health.

Hey, here's a good sandwich filling: Nutella

Lou, I don't have a bump per se at the moment. More of a general 'fat' effect, Caused by the lack of being able to stomach anything healthy. Its been 12 weeks of chips, sausages and fried eggs.

Have a good eve!

Em x
