I keep meaning to pop on but keep forgetting....since i last posted we havent stopped. Went to Barleylands and Skye made a photoframe (well she didnt make the frame) and she put her foot prints on it for daddy for fathers day. I cant for the life of me remember the writings that 'she' put on it, something in the line of 'happy 1st fathers day, lots of love'. We collect it next week, so cant wait to see how its turned out....anyone done anything for daddy for daddy's day?
We were mearnt to watch SATC in the eve with the girls but by the time we left the place we went for a meal before hand and gt back to the cinema, they were full so we couldnt watch it so we bought popcorn and went back to one of the girls house to watch the apprentice...good night!!! So cinema postponed to next weds...lets hope we actually get to watch the film this time
Skye went on her first coach trip and to a farm on fri...i have to say i was well proud of myself cos i crap myself when i'm near an animal but i did really well by going as close as i can so she can touch them (although i was crapping myself, itried not to show it too much).
Went out last night and i'm shattered today....I cant believe how the weeks just fly by. Right thats me done yapping about our week....
Steff, i also do two strokes of brushing skye's teeth before she grabs the brush off me and also brush with her at the same time. I find she seems to copy what i'm doing when brushing apart from when i say its time to spit...and she burts out laughing...i spit and she laughs so dont think we've got the hang of spitting yet..
BB - Emma, did you say your watching it? I'm always a fan...but this year, to be honest i have to say i was really shocked to find that they've put a blind person in it. OH keeps sayng but they cant discriminae etc, which i totally get but at the same time, i just think its not right...
Ooooooo, before i forget, i'm well chuffed since yesterday, Skye started clapping her hands and today, she just stands in the middle of the room and just keep clapping...you cant stop her now!!!Kirst, i thiink you said Liliana claps as well, i just love it...AND she waved good bye at daddy this morning. How cool is that?
My computer has broken, so I'm borrowing DH's while he's not using it. Just my luck, it is 13 months old, and the warrentee is for a year! Gutted!
What clever babies! Clapping and standing! Emily stands against the settee, but I have got a hand behind her waiting for her to fall over. She gets distracted by the TV and swings around to see it and topples over.
I watched the launch show of BB, but I haven't seen it since. I read the news whenever I can.
I have done plaster footprints of Emily. They turned out really well, I was so chuffed! It was easy - play dough rolled out on a plate, press baby's feet into it, one at a time, use cardboard strips to make a ring around the play dough and fill it with plaster of paris. Leave it 24 hours and peel off, voila! I have a recipe for play dough, shout me if you want it. Cheap, easy and it doesn't stick to carpet!
Such a proud Mum moment. John took part in Dyfed (the old name for Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen and Ceredigion) sports and came joint second in high jump. OMG, I couldn't believe it! Bad thing was, his teachers had gone home, no-one from his school was there to support him. How bad was that? B*&%$£ds!
Hope everyone is OK! I bet you are all enjoying this gorgeous weather! It's a bit too hot for me to be honest! Lilly's nursery was 26 degrees last night??!? So glad I don't have a newborn in this weather! I would be panicking all the time about overheating!
Oh aren't the babies getting clever?? Wel done Oscar for crawling and well done Skye for clapping and waving! Lilly is doing so well! Pulling herself up on everything she can get her hands on! Yesterday she used her bumbo as a walker and went quite far! She still looks like a drunk when she stands though! Wobbling all over the place. She has also started blowing raspberries andwe can now say ba ba ba over and over and over again! It's so cute! They are growing up so fast!
My boobs have defintely gone south too! They are way more saggy than they used to be! And a bit smaller??! Oh well!! Quite glad I had a section tbh! My scar is really small and you can't see it under string bikinis! Wohoooooo!!
Can't believe it - my weight has just started to drop off! I was 11 stone 4 weeks ago and now I am 10st 3! Unbelievable! Just got to keep going! Holiday in 6 weeks! Yippppppeeeeeee!!
Oscar has stopped concentrating on crawling now and has taken a leaf out of Lilly's book by starting to stand up. This morning at my mums and baby group I was sat on a low sofa, Oscar was playing on the floor. I turned around to do something on the table next to the sofa and then I felt something touching my leg. I look around to find Oscar is standing up next to me! A friend thinks he'll be walking by 10 months OMG!!!!
Hi all, I assume everyone is out enjoying the sunshine.
Oscar had a great time at swimming today, he started spashing as soon as he got into the pool. The problem came this afternoon at my pilates group...as soon as I laid on my back to start the exercises Oscar began climbing on top of me which meant I had to have one hand on him so I couldn't relax and concentrate (which is sort of necessary for pilates!). Unfortunately I think that is going to be one of my last pilates sessions with Oscar as I probably got about 5 mins of exercise done.
Oscar is going from strength to strength (literally) with pulling himself up - he can now do it on most things including our sofa, his activity table and pulling out drawers and using them! Do you think there is a way of making him not want to stand up and cruise?!?!
Anyway, think I've talked too much about Oscar. Hope you and babies are all doing well, and you're all prepared for Father's day.
It's gone a bit quiet on here, are we all enjoying the weather?
Emily isn't saying anything yet (apart from "Oooh!" at the cat), but she is understanding some words. Kiss, hello, dance, no and good night and her name. She will stand on her feet and hands. Her legs are straight and vertical and her hands are flat on the floor with her bum in the air. She will dance to almost any music and some adverts will stop her in her tracks.
Lou, I've seen Em's bedroom at over 27 degrees. I only put the bottom sheet on the cot and put her down in just a vest or babygro, depending on the temperature. She never stays under the blankets anyway!
It's been quite chilly here today and I've been at work anyway so not out enjoying the sunshine unfortunately.
Harvey is still not crawling - he prefers to stand and if I hold his hands he likes to walk around (very wobbly!). He blows endless raspberries says baba dada and moves his fist in and out of his mouth to do a wawawa sound. He does it on purpose to be funny as he waits for you to laugh at him when he's finished! He's also got his 'being cute with strangers' look where he smiles at them and then puts his face down and looks shy. I'm sure he knows exactly what he's doing.
Well done to Oscar for all that cruising and Emily for the dancing. Sounds like a lot of them will be walking early. Skye is nearly there already.
How is everyone? Good to hear there's been good weather in england, in Spain it's been rubbish til yesterday! Speaking of hot bedrooms, I woke up at about 2am feeling like I couldn't breathe, it was horrible! I threw the window open and pulled the blinds up and then went and stuck my face in the fridge!
It really does sound like the babbas are going to be walking early. Lucia does the same thing as Emily, the rocking on all 4s and then pushing her bum up in the air with her legs straight, making a little triangle with the floor. She also loves pushing herself up on my hands and standing up, she thinks it's really funny!!
Lucia is also clapping and waving, it's so cute! I don't know about her understanding any words. I think she knows "Where's Timmy?" (the tortoise), because she looks in the direction of his tank. But, several people have told me that bilingual children start speaking quite a bit later, so we'll have to wait and see.
Also, I've been in touch with a Spanish association who help women who had bad birth experiences. They think I have good grounds for a complaint (being left alone, not being told what was put in the drip etc), and they're also going to publish my story on their website. I'm definitely thinking about having a home birth and paying a private midwife next time.
Anyway, Lucia is getting a bit squealy, so betterr go. Have a good weekend everyone and enjoy the weather!!
Another first from Emily, she can now get from crawling to sitting! Woo-hoo. Until now, I've been able to sit her to play, and in her own time she will decide to crawl off, but I had to sit her up again when she got bored.
ATM, I'm watching her crawl across the living room floor with a sandal in her mouth. Nutter!
Oh Steff, good little Emily, I cant believe how much Liliana has come on in leap and bounds since being in england with all this carpet, shes off now and there is no stopping her, she sits, crawls, stands, she be doing cartwheels soon im sure.
Well done Emily, I'm waiting for Oscar to be able to do that - he has done it once but only by throwing himself back in to a sitting position!
Kirst - It's funny how somethings suddenly just click with them. Oscar has really sped up with his crawling now he has realised being able to move means he can get to things that he can pull up on. His latest trick is he is beginning to cruise and he is also trying 'no hands' when he has pulled up on something! He manages about 4/5 seconds then goes bounding down to the floor!
Anyway, to try and remember my last post, i commented on those gorgeous piccies of Lilly...she's so beautiful!
Then i commented on John - well done to him steff. It makes me angry cos you read about how they are trying to encourage kids to take part in sport and then when they do, there's no support. I cant believe his teachers would do that to him.
it really its wonderful to watch our babies develop - i sit here sometimes just watching Skye with a smile on my face.
Her christening is on sunday so i'm off tomorrow to try ang get me a new outfit. got all the food etc so cant wait till saturday when we go to the hall to decorate it.
