Congrates Rebecca - hope you had a good labour and all is going well.

I too have now had baby Lauren - two weeks late and a huge 8lb 15 , she was born on the 12th at 4.09pm, shes fantastic and is now sleeping quite well , but i am breast feeding so still knackered.

Strange though as at first i thought she was the spit of her sister but now think she is quite different.

Hi,

I was due on the 20th of December and I am pleased to say my little boy 'Austin James' arrived on the 2nd of January (13 days late!) weighing 8lb 8oz.

The birth didn't go quite to plan - I ended up having an emergency c-section, due to my high temp and not progressing any further than 5/6cm and the baby not coping with  labour/contractions.  I ended up with a spinal headache from the epidural and couldn't sit or stand for nearly a week and then my section wound went red and warm and burst on 1 side!  Anyway - all on the mend now... apart from my nipples which are taking a bit of a battering - he is a very aggresive feeder!!

All that said, he was well worth the wait (and pain) and I can't believe how much I love him!!

Congrats to all with new arrivals.

My turn.......!

I have a beautiful baby boy called Charlie who arrived at 5.06am on friday morning weighing 8lb2oz (and a 1/2)! He is adorable although I have to say that the labour was tough. Started after membrane sweep Thurs at 2pm - a few cramps before then, but the sweep really got it going. By 5.30pm the contractions were very severe but all over the place time-wise. By 7ish they were lasting at least a minute long and were very close. Went to hosp. Struggled as contractions were so painful and frequent - not helped by horrendous back pain. It was relentless! Had pethidine and gas and air. Asked for epidural but couldn't have one as anaethatist in surgery with a c-section - gutted! Fully dilated by 1.30am. Then a horrendous 3 hours of pushing from 2am........found it so hard to push due to back pain.  So one epesiotomy later and out popped the head followed by body in next push and charlie had entered the world!

No-one can prepare you for labour - but what an end result. I am head over heels in love with our little boy. We didn't know what we were having so the surprise was wonderful.

Congratulations Trisara an Eve

Sorry you  didnt have good labour experiences butr its all worth it in the end ,

Eve hope the breast feeding settles down a bit for you, my little one was like that to start but has calmed down and my nipples are used to it now so not too bad.

Really glad as well as she just eats and sleeps even at night shes a star only waking once or twice and straight back down after a feed , totally different to my other daughter who was just awake all the time .

I expect they'll be some more arrivals soon,

an is it just me or is january flying prob cos i spent the first half waiting for baby and now im just busy and keep forgetting what day it is !

where is everyone?

just checkin' in seeing how its going..Theo has got terrible colic and will not sleep and hates his moses but sleeps like an angel in the carseat and pram. not great when i need him to sleep in the early hours!

hi all my turn LOL

Jack Gabriel James arrived at 00.31am on Thursday 24th Jan 2008

He weighed just 7lb 6.5oz even though he was 16 days overdue! But he looked huge! He is however 22ins long, longer tha my first but shorter than my middle son!

I had to be induced and although i was terrified it all went fine and i was only in labour for 7.5 hours. It was tough going tho as the pains were comming 1-2 mins appart and lasting 1-2 mins each from very early on but i coped by soaking i the bath for an hour, well 3.5 hours actually LOL! They said i was 3cm dilated at 11.20pm and left me for an hour, Dom had to run out and tell them i was pushing and he could see a head so they all came running in LOL

Well he has finaly gone off now so i am going to try and get some sleep. I have basically been awake since wednesday morning at 6am and i am shattered!

Congrts to everyone. Love Philippa xx

Hi All,A

new recruit from Due Jan thread. Macie joan was born Tuesday 22/01/08 at 10:52am by C section. Waters went monday night at 11:10pm. In labour by time at hospital and got to 9cm but then she turned and got stuck so another section for me but was very relaxed as had epidural at 3:30am. Came home yesterday and so far things quite relaxed, sure that will change over next few months but am enjoying now for now.

Hi All,

I have added my details below.

Breastfeeding is going ok now - however due to my c section wound infection and two courses of antibiotics my young man has oral thrush - which has given me v sore nipples (so much so it made me cry... !)  Been using daktarin oral gel and cream and things seem to be clearing up.

As far as food to avoid - I am going to make a (mild...) thai green curry later - I will report back if there are any adverse affects!!

Hi Girls

I have not avoided anything food wise and Jack seems fine LOL Poor soul but then he had several madras curries in my tummy so i guess like Ben is immune to the spices. Ben has eaten madras since he was 10 months old LOL

I am having a lovely time with my hubby and the three boys. D is doing most of the housework and cooking and i am getting to rest and give lots of attention to Jack wich is lovely

The boys adore him. he is having some time with Daddy at the moment as it is his wakey time. It is lovey to see him so alert and he is so strong, he can hold his head and turn it from side to side and has done since birth!

Well looks like there is a que for the milk bar so i best go get the boob jucie ready.

Hope your all ok Love P xx
