Hi there everyone, Hope you are all feeling better than you did last week. I am OK apart from a rotten cold that has been going around the office - people should stay at home when they are ill - they dont get that we can't take anything to ease the pain and just have to put up with it, I do miss taking Benylin for my cough! I had my 20wk scan last week and found out its a boy - although it didn't seem that obvious to us! All is well though, which is the main thing. I just bought maternity trousers & jeans last week, ended up going to Mamas & Papas though cos I have long legs and went around all the usual high street stores but to no avail, no long leg lengths in a size 14 or 16 anywhere. I would recommend them for choice, but trousers were £35 each - I just figured I'd pay that for normal trousers in somewhere like Next anyway - but I am very awkward to fit into trousers anyway, I just dont buy many clothes its too much hassle! I'm still not feeling too much movement, just the occasional wriggle now and then - what is everyone else feeling? What are peoples thoughts about antenatal classes? the NHS ones near me only do two 2 hr sessions and one breastfeeding clinic. So I was thinking of attending something else as well. The NCT ones available seem to be two all day sessions which me or my OH couldn't cope with, so maybe gonna find some other private ones to go to. Bye for now, Louise.xx

Hi to you all on this very wet weekend. I agree that when people are ill they need to stay away, I don't want it!! Baby bean is kicking all the time and cerys and OH love nothing more than talking to it and when there are big bangs it jumps!!! I don't think it is ever somthing to get used to being kicked from the inside!!! Still haven't told anyone what it is yet so am doing well but am frightened it will slip out!!! I have suddenly sprouted and have grown ot of my trousers so have to look for others!! I went to parent craft classes when I had cerys and found them funny not useful! I learnt more from friends and family although some people like them. Have been buggy looking today and have narrowed it down to two ut they are in lots of different colours and now theres another decision. I am plucking up the courage to tell my best mate that I don't want the buggy that she was going to give(!!!) to me, as I think £45 quid is a bit steep, especially as she had my old one and broke it!!! Really nervous as don't want to fell awrkward!!! Hope everyone has a good week and stays good and grows some more! Crin xxx

Hi all, can't believe some of u r only just goin into maternity trousers! I've been in them since 9 weeks! I've found peacocks brilliant for jeans they're only £15 each and do a few different styles, all one length but fit me fine! Can u believe not one single shop where I live do maternity clothes! It's so annoyin, I usually have to go to Birmingham which is not good cuz it's always really busy and I don't do busy shoppin centres! I've been getting abit stressed these past few weeks cuz work r messin me around movin me all over the places doin the jobs no else wants to do! It just feels like they r doin it cuz i'm pregnant and incapable of doin most things wen i'm not. As of tomorrow i'm in charge of mens underwear (at marks and spencers aswel)! Great! My OH goes away for 3 weeks aswell tomorrow on a course at work and i suffer quite bad with anxiety so I struggle on my own! Anyways my rants over and i'm off 2 bed! Speak soon Alice x x x

Morning All - how is everyone today? Apart from being dog tired (as usual) & freezing cold (oh I hate winter) Im fine! Baby has been wriggling all weekend which is nice - thing is it never entertains on demand! It was all over the place when I was getting my nails done yesterday but when I went to bed it was either asleep or hiding from me! lol Crin - cant believe you've found out the sex of baby & havent told anyone! I couldnt keep a secret like that! My friend did it, which I didnt know until baby had arrived (obviously) but i just couldnt do it! Congratulations anyway! As for your friend about the pushchair, I have a similar friend! I have bailed this girl out of some serious financial situations, Ive put food in her cupboards, I even bought her son a cot! When we recently got our moses basket out of our loft (which we only used for 5 wks) we found we had had a lodger (a rat .. in the loft ... I dont know how!) anyway, it had chewed all the lining so I asked if I could use hers & Id give it back after! She said you can have it, which was fine! Then before I thought about it I said, let me know what you want for it, expecting her to say, dont be silly! She then told me she wanted £25 - I mean seriously, are you taking the piss? It gave me the right hump as these people clearly have very short memories! Needless to say, I bought a brand new (for less than £25) off ebay & told her I didnt need hers! I still dont think she worked out why but I dont care! I wont be doing her any favours any more! Jay ........ where are you??? Come on .... we're all dying to know what baby is????? Come back & tell us! Louise congratulations on your little boy! How exciting? Have you thought of names yet? Regarding NCT classes, I went to them during my first pregnancy & as the NHS ones seemed to be during the day when I was at work! I found them to be funny but didnt really learn much! Like someone else said, I probably learnt more from friends & family! But everyone views them differently, you may really enjoy them & find them really useful. Ive rambled for long enough so I better do some work, only 14 more sleeps til my scan! x x

hi everyone
had such a lovely weekend with my mum and sister in london, went to see Dirty Dancing, recommend it to all! That was my second time as MH and I went in May, love London could live there...........! Feel great. Was very surprised how hospitable people on the tubes were to me and letting me have their seats as they arent as nice in Belfast! Baby kicking loads, my boobs actually starting leaking 2 weeks ago. I was in shock and rang MH to work, he was like what?!! I didnt start that until way late on with my son. I feel so big now, but Im loving it. Need to start taking it easy with my son he expects me to be the same with him I cant even carry him anymore and he doesnt like that cos he wants to my be my baby forever! My sister dreamt I had a girl and she was 10lb and sailed through labour, yeah right! Son was 5lb 1 and I felt every bit of him! Im not worried about labour, baby has to come out and the pain goes as soon as the baby is born, keep telling myself that anyway. Im 20 weeks and my scan isnt until 22nd, not going to find out either! Congratulations Jay!!!!!!!!! I dont mind as long as the baby isnt premature and its healthy

Hi everyone! Long time know post - just spent an hour going over old messages. Jay, have you sorted out the trouble with work? Hope things get better for you soon. ClaireLouise, I hope you're OH is coming round. My hubby is being a bit funny about things at the moment - I think it's just nerves. Crin, you made me laugh about baby enjoying year 9 maths. I can't think of anything worse (except maybe PE!) Talking about Christmas, I am done. Everyone's present is bought *smug grin* Congratulations to everyone who has had their 20-week scans. Loulou we have our 20-week scan on the same day! Mine's at 4pm tomorrow, what time's yours? I have cobbled together a list of baby boys and girls below and will add them to our normal list once there's a few more. Do yell if I've missed you off! Tracey (girl) Natalie (surprise) Lara (girl) Alice (surprise) ClaireLouise (surprise) Crin (we're not telling!) Louise (boy) Jay (boy)

Jay - congratulations sweet! How exciting!!! Have you thought of any names yet? So we've got a fairly equal number of boys, girls & surprises! My name will be added to that list in 2 weeks time followed by BOY! Anyone want a bet with me? Is it home time yet? Im so tired today! Think I was nodding off in my meeting earlier until baby gave me an almighty kick! At least I know it was thinking of my best interests!!! lol x

Hi guys, long time no post but I try to read them all the time. We moved a few weeks ago and had no broadband until today and I can't really post very much at work. We too have our scan tomorrow at 10am. Am really nervous and excited - just hope everything is ok. We aren't going to find out the sex as want it to be a surprise. If everything is ok though DH has promised we can go to Mothercare and buy the "all in one extra cute coming home from hospital outfit" that I have had my eye on for ages but too superstitious to buy. To be honest my superstitions are really getting the better of me. I have had to buy absolutely loads of maternity clothes the last few weeks because my normal clothes (well bottoms mostly) are only just wearable now and I need loads for our cruise we go on next week for 3 weeks (but we didn't pay for the holiday so I feel justified in spending more money that I would have liked!!) but I refuse to wear them until after tom - just in case! I won't let my manager sign my annual leave off for the rest of the year or my maternity form until after tomorrow - just in case! I won't let anyone (and I tell you my mum cannot wait!) buy anything for the baby until after tomorrow - just in case! There is probably more but all I can say is thank goodness its tomorrow as I don't think I can cope with my crazy baby brain for much longer!! I too haven't felt the lil bean move too much but definitely a bit. Am hoping to feel more in the next few weeks. Anyway best go and do some things now so good luck for everyone with their scans tomorrow. I hope we all have happy and healthy babies!! x

Hi girls, Congratulations Jay on having a little boy, really pleased for you. Can't believe so many of you are having your scans today, I've had mine but I'm so jealous. Hope everything goes well. Can't wait to hear what you are all having. I still need to post a photo but I'm not sure how to do it, I don't have a scanner so will prob have to wait to I go to mums at the weekend to do it. I really do think I'm having a boy. Well, I feel much better this week. I'm starting to feel like I have more energy as well. Does anyone find that they are hungry all of time time, yesterday I just couldn't stop eating, I know I'm going to put on loads of weight! By I don't care!! I'm not eating the correct things either. Yesterday I had waffles with feta cheese!! bizarre. Can't wait to hear the scan reports!!!

I want wotzits! or hula hoops! or twiglets! I just want food! Im starving! Ive got 2 banana's on my desk but obviously they dont quite fulfill the craving!!! Surprise, surprise! Glad you're feeling a bit more energetic Natalie - do you have some you can share with me? Im still sleepy all the time but I dont help myself as im constantly on the go when at home, I try & take things easy at work (by spending most of my day on here LOL) but at home things are just crazy! I probably could rest more, but there is just always something to be done! Hey ho, the joys of being a "wife" & mother! Claire how come you'll have another scan in December? Baby will be really big by then but its so lovely seeing everything so clearly, I had late scans with Jas because of her foot! Babybelle & Skyblue will have had their scans by now, wonder how they got on? How exciting - Im such a big kid! x

Marie i need to have a growth scan at 34 weeks as my big brother is mentally handicapped so they have to keep an eye out for me, they were the same with my sister. I need to ghave the scan before i see the consultant which is on the 9th dec but not complaining as we get another pic and a better look at baby. Wont be long til u get ur scan now, bet u cant wait
|
 |
Afternoon ladies - well the scan went really well and we have a perfectly healthy baby. We didn't find out the sex so it will be a surprise and I am amazed how good I feel about that because before I got pregnant I didn't think I would be able to wait ! We now have a new name for the baby - its changed from lil bean to fidget. Although it was all curled up in a ball for most of the scan it wouldn't stop moving. We saw it rub its eyes, move its mouth, wave and try to boff the ultrasound scanner. So exciting and I feel so happy that I have this wonderful little baby growing inside me. I just can't stop smiling I hope all you other girls whose scans are today are ok and I will put a picture up as soon as I can as the scanner is at home and they don't leave my side for the first few days of having them.
|
 |
Oh Babybelle! I was sooo looking forward to finding out the sex of your little one. Oh well, only four months or so to go - I think I can wait So pleased that everything is ok. It's so amazing that there is a little person doing all that stuff in there and we can't really feel it yet... Just over two hours until my scan...can't wait
|
 |
Sorry Loopy - not long to wait, I can't believe I am pretty much exactly half way through! If it makes you feel better I am convinced I am having a boy so your predictions may be correct! Are you going to find out the sex? Good luck, I am really excited for you
