Hi everyone been hospital today... she is doing wonderfull.. she has been out for cuddles had her on the breast but she didnt have much cause she was sleepy..dad had a cuddle aswell... but she pooed when she was out so I had to do her bum..but it was funny...as I finnished cleaning Jennifers bum...and dryed.. (she must off saving up, from 2pm and I started changing her about 6pm) and this yellowrie cream liquid shot out off her bum ( as I was about to put on the clean nappy) shot everywhere allover her bed, baby growth,my hand.and this poo kept on squirting out and wouldnt stop for about 2 minutes..and I couldnt stop laughing as I was trying to clean this mess up..finally manage to get it all done in the end and saved the bed changing to one off the nurses called claire... Jennifer did the same thing as she done to me about a week and a half ago... so I think it was my pay back time after taking the mick off pete when Jennifer did the same thing as she had done to me lol " " lol... going to go now but if anyone wants a chat you know where im at.. Health and Happyness Love Claire and baby Jennifer xxx thank you emma and olivia for your post..I cant wait till she comes out they say she should be out begginning/midd september 08..but just look towards your due date..*2nd october* all they are looking for is her maintaining tempreture well and put on 2pounds and breast feeding fully... cannot wait ... hope all is well with you health and happyness xxx

Hi again.. been hospital today and Jennifer is now on 29mls, in daytime 3 hourly and at night 4 hourly.. and for Jennifer to be moved into the nursery she has to put on half a pound...then she would be moved into a warming cot next room from where she is now.. I really cant wait till she comes home..the nurses reckon that Jennifer would be coming home round about begginning/midd september 08.. but they say but just look towards the due date.. which was the 2nd october08,,only because the babys can still have there ups and downs even if they are doing really well...I just cant believe that she just needs to put half a pound on her which would make her 3pnds but when she is in the nursary she would have too put on abit more weight so she would be 4pounds.."I cannot wait" yesterday the nurse (pauline) said to me that they ae doing some sort of project/campainge where they are trying to encourage for mothers to do skin to skin contact.. she asked a few mothers but they said no ( I think that they dont like photos being taken) but when pauline asked me I said yes...holding Jennifer skin to skin shoots a spark of light and feel the power of unconditional love through our energys..and I think all mother should do skin to skin nearlly everytime you hold your baby.. so yer i had my photo taken so pauline can put it up on the notice board with another womans picture...and when I saw pauline I said why dont you get pictures of fathers holding there baby skin to skin aswell to encourage men to do that so that they can have a closer bonding with there baby..(my partner does skin to skin and his favorotte thing what Jennifer does is that she starts to pull on his chest hairs when he cuddles her and then she goes active for a minute then falls asleep) and pauline says that is a good idea to do aswell... hope everyone is ok and doing well with there bumps and congratulations iff any new mums out there got pregnant or just had there baby...or just about to go in labour...if anyone wants to have a chat im always on this forums.... HEALTH AND HAPPYNESS Love Claire and baby Jennifer xxx ps going to upload some more pictures off Jennifer and maysome with her mummy and daddy in it aswell PEACE

Hi Kelstar1.. happy birthday for the last 4thJuly08... (hi everyone)... WELL got more good news to tell you... Yesterday when I went to the hospital round about 3pm to try her on the breast so she could have a good feed on the breast before she had her tube feed..well a very unexpected suprise..only to find that she wasnt in her incubator...and I was thinking where has she gone (getting abit worried) only to find that Jennifer was still in the same room but the nurses has put her in a warming cot...ya'eso shes not in her incubator but in open air in a little cot also she is now feeding through a tube 43Mls off breast milk and inculding what ever she has out off my breast.. the nurses said later on that day she will be moved into the nursery room next door...i cannot wait...I reakon she'l be home in roughly 3 more weeks..I cannot wait till she goes home and do all the stuff I like to do with her like going car boots sales take her to feed the ducks go for nice walks..I cant wait...plus she is lucky so far in her not needing oxygen tubes so it looks like she wont be needing oxygen to take home with her... plus she is going to be 2 months old on friday.. love from Claire and baby Jennifer xxx HEALTH AND HAPPYNESS

Hi claire & Jennier, so pleased everyting is going well for you. my baby was in scbu for 3 weeks, & I know what a milestone moving into a cot feels like - the nurses described it perfectly as 'one step nearer the door'. my baby came home after 3 weeks (she was 4 weeks early, but had low blood sugars), she's now 10 weeks old, & trust me, having spoken to the mums who were on the same unit, all our babies have thrived once coming home - Abi's become a growing machine!! Hang on in there & good luck - remember - the best things come in small packages, & home is the best place for her & you - then the hard work starts - but it's oh soooo fantastic!!! Love Amanda & Abi xx

Hi Admanda,Suzie and Emma, Thankyou for your posts... the nurse said to me that her tempreture keeping is doing very well and that they are very pleased with... also they say the last few days /week before Jennifer comes home..they want me to stay in every night so I wont miss her feeds.. so I can get use to getting up in the middle off the night and get use to Jennifers routine for her feeds so when the nurses thinks im ready and got comfortable then the next day she'll be ready to come home..then all the nights that i have stayed in hospital all day and night ..I have prepared myself what to expect when she comes home and i then already know her waking/feeding patturns. next week Jennifer has got another eye appointment to cheack the back off her eyes again to see if nothing has develop to make her blind...her last eye appointment was fine no problems at all... so I think after next week I think the nurses would get Jennifer prepared for home time... The nureses still wants me to come in more often to get her used to staying on the breast for longer without getting tired off sucking...she'll get there soon because round about 35 -36weeks they start getting even more alert and routing for feeds.... shes going to be 2 months old this friday so If I was to be still be pregnant I would be 36 weeks gone... I hope you are all doing very well......by the way admanda..it sounds like your baby didnt have to go home with oxygen..if you did or you know any other mums went home with there baby with oxygen.. was it hard work... the nurses said it looks like Jennifer doesnt have to go home with any oxygen...but im going to ask if I can take home like a heart moniter that I can borrow for a month or 2 so if her heart rate goes down (unlikerly) or oxygen it will bleep a warning and wake us up...but they would most proberly say that I wouldnt need to take one home. anyways iv going to go now getting tired but il leave my stause signed on so if anyone wants a chat il get a bleep..lol love Claire and baby Jennifer xxx Health and Happyness

Hi everyone, well for my reason for posting this late evening is for a very good reason..as theres good news to tell you's all ........ When I was in hospital today early on this evening nicky who used to be a midwife but she does family support group...she got told a guidline date ( rough estimate date to aim for)...for Jennifer to come home from hospital round about the 16th/19th september..for her to come home...im so excited....so the nurses said to me that they want me to start sleeping over at the hospital about 3 or 4 times a week to get Jennifer used to feeding off the breast for a longer period off time (so she wont start falling asleep by getting to comfortable) She has gained more weight last monday, she weighed 3 pounds and 1 1/2 ounzes and today she weighed 3 pounds and 2 1/2 ounzes... even though I go to the hospital 3 times a day to change/feed her...the nurses want me toas I said sleep over and when Jennifer wakes up for feeding the nurses will come and wake me up and il have to go into where she is to feed...(but the nurses says if I am going to stay over I have to be at the hospital before 10am...and to stay there for 24 hours..and try staying at the hospital.) also the nurses say that when shes out of the warming cot and manages to maintain her tempreture very well...then the nurses will take out the electric warming matt out off her cot...but instead off me going back and too from room to room to feed Jennifer...Jennifer would sleep in the room in a cot next to my bed...for when I stay .and she will be with me for 24 hours straight..and if I need abit off help then all I need to do is buzz for the nurse to come and cheack up on her... I really cant wait its like another 3 weeks..also she still doesnt need oxygen which is really good... but the nurses say I shouldnt keep my hopes up to much and just look towards your due date which is the 2nd october 08.. but they reakon she'll be out by 19th september... hehe the last time I stayed over at the hospital was when her hate rate kept on going down but that was 13 days after she was born...(only once that happened) but im going to stay over for the seconed time ,but first time ...only to keep on feeding her through the night which is this Friday... anyways Ihope everyone is doing well ..and congratulations to any mums who have just got pregnant and congratulations to mums who have given birth to there baby.... lots of love Claire and baby Jennifer xxx Health and Happyness

Hi everyone..well tommorrow im going to be doing the 24 hour stay at the hospital tommorrow night....which would be nackering..after 20mins off holding Jennifer and watching her sleep or feeding .. I start falling asleep ( I think its psychosamatic ) but I do not want to put her back into her cot..... so I think that I wouldnt be able to leave the hospital just for a break..anyways I think that they might do.... but untill shes still in a warming cot.. she might not be able to stay in the room with me due to be heart and breathing monitered...even though theres nothing wrong.... but when shes out off her warming cot and just in a normal portable cot (on wheels).. when I stay over again she will be able to sleep in the same room as me....which will be hopfully next week.. but the nurses wants me to at least sleep over 3 times a week... maybe 4 times... for Jennifer getting used to feeding on the breast for a longer time...which will be soon.... the nurses target for Jennifer to come home is the roughly the 19th september 08...but they tell me to look towards the 2nd october 08... Also tommorrow Jennifer is being weighed..so I wounder what her new weight gain is.... so ill let you all know whats happening tomoz... Health and Happyness love claire and baby Jennifer xxx

Hi Claire, Glad to hear everything is going well & you've started 'rooming in' with Jennifer - now the hard work really starts!! Abi didn't come home on oxygen, as there was never any problem with her breathing, but I am in touch with some of the mums who had babies earlier than me on SCBU, & though their babies were monitored & on oxygen support in hospital, they weren't given any monitoring equipment as it wasn't deemed necessary as they weren't discharged on oxygen. If Jennifer is well off oxygen on discharge, then they won't send you home with either that or monitoring. The mums I know from SCBU all went to Argos & bought the Tommee Tippee Sensor monitor - it's around £55, but works a dream - you really won't need any more than that unless it is given to you by the hospital - they won't send Jennifer home unless it is safe, so relax & just enjoy her & your 'rooming in'. love Amanda & Abi xx

Hi thanks Admanda and Emma, I know it would be hard work comming soon but I cannot wait to do all off it..hearing Jennifer cry in the middle of the night... wake up feed her sit down and cuddle up with her letting her know everything is fine....holding her in the middle off the night and showing her the night sky and telling her about the cosmos...cant wait to start looking after her with unconditional love...and show her how to send out health and happyness, love peace..and respect mothernature...I dont mind if she starts waighling in the middle of the night..its part of the experiance for me and learning for myself what she can teach me so I can learn something new in my life....Its all part of the ride in this life and im going to enjoy every moment of what I make with it....... I stayed over last night (friday) it was tirering cause the nurses woke me up at 4am and 8am...lol she now weighs 3 pounds and 7 ounzes..so she has shot up quite alot...also she went abit anemic..so she had to have 40mls off blood transfusion...but all togeather she is doing fine... love Claire and baby Jennifer xxx Health and Happyness
