i'm about to have my second baby. i breast fed for 9 months with first and got an avent manual breast pump but was not overly impressed with it! it became very noisy to use and uncomfortable!
really need a good recommendation for a manual or an electric breast pump as i need to go back to work earlier with this one.

At Boots you can buy Medela Mini Electric Breast Pump, which is the one I used with my 2nd baby. I used the Avent Manual one with my first baby & found it hard work to get much milk out of it. My hand ached with trying with the manual pump but the electric pump was brilliant. The Medela pump is noisy but I think all breast pumps are. I saved my advantage card points to buy it.

i used the avent manaul and i used it so much my fingers were starting to seize up on a morning.

i went on a web site thats featured on this site called www.anawiz.com and bought a spectra 3 electric breast pump. it cost me fifty quid but its the beast money i ever spent. the unit is very compact and to say it was electric it was very quiet and it does all the work for you.

i literally put my boob on and went to sleep. it was great. defo worth the money.
i also used a medela hospital grade pump with a memory on so it slows the suction for the release of the thicker hind milk whereas my pump didnt, it was a constant suction.

Hi Danielle, my local health centre loans out electric breast pumps i used them with my first 2 children. They were great because you could use 2 attachments so you could do both boobs at the same time. Ask your midwife or health visitor if they have the same kind of scheme where you live.

i wish we had something like that around here, i would ahve loved to have kept using my hospital greade pump. might look into that for my next one. xxx

your local NCT will have a breastfeeding counsellor who can arrange loans of a hospital grade pump, I also think la leche league do some sort of loan system - i never got on with an electric one with my first though but am thinking of buyer a new pump for no.2 and was wondering if anyone had used the Playtex Pump recommended in Mother baby mag?

Anyone used the Tommy Tippe breast pumps and if so how did you rate them?
