I am slightly confused. We need to upgrade our sons car seat from newborn to second stage. We currently have an isofix unit and we love it (see review) but have had mixed advice from car seat specialist that next stage chair is not the best. Has anybody else got a Britax Duo Plus Isofix? is it easy to use? comfy? Should we stay with the isofix or go back to convention? My head says that isofix is safer but specialist says that not enough is known for second stage chair! Please help.

if you are happy with this brand then i would stick by it at least if you had good experence with this company before it means you are likely to have good experence again i tend to stick to one brand of produces lol i personally use a mamma and pappa's car seat but i have heard good things about the company you are talking about so that can only really mean good things ah?

Have a britax si (not sure about the duo plus etc) which we have with isofix. None of that stupid fiddling with belts. Doesn't recline as far as non-isofix though so bear that in mind. It does recline a bit! I feel sure it has to be safer, after all, it's fixed with a bit of metal rather than a belt which moves and may be incorrectly fitted. A lot easier to fix and don't have to worry that someone has undone the belt accidentally (problem with grandma's).

I can recommend kiddicare or halfords (when they have a sale on) although halfords couldn't fit our stage 3 (another britax) properly even though they say they offer a fitting service.

omg thats not good when a company can't even fit a carseat when they offer the service silly buggers i read in a newspaper that only mothercare past the carseat fitting inspection that most other companies failed this which is pretty scarey actaully

To be honest, I'm always a bit suspicious as I think the person who fitted it thought they knew how to do it and they are usually more complicated than that. They didn't really bother with the manual! Some are very difficult to fit, and with our old car the seatbelts were sometimes too short to fit certain makes, which is why I buy britax, and maxi-cosi. I have a couple of jane ones but they are virtually impossible to do in a hurry.
