I'm trying to find a light-weight pram, that is convertable to a pushchair (preferably by having a separate baby carrier, but not necessarily). I'd like it to be light, as I'll have to carry it up and down stairs. Similarly, I'd prefer the basket bit to be detachable, to be able to keep the baby in it and carry it up stairs separately.

Any recommendations? Budget is an issue, and I'm getting stuck. Would it be better to go with two separate things? One for pram-stage, and one for later on?

I'm in a similar boat, and need something lightweight to carry up stairs, but also good for trails and muddy paths.
I'm just looking at the cosatto mobi, which seems to tick all the boxes,sturdy, folds down small, light car seat, etc - I think the bugaboo is too expensive, although it does save you getting two things.
I'm watching out for deals on ebay and through baby clubs, but finding it all a bit of a minefield just now.

Hi ladies, I have just bought the mamas and papas skoot it was £175 in the sale. I have to say I love it it`s definitely one of the best things I have bought. It`s pretty lightweight (9kg), is compatible with carseat (sold seperately), both rear and forward facing with a reversible handle and most importantly my baby is so comfortable in it, he sleeps on an afternoon in it and is there for hours. The only down side is it does not have a detachable carrycot. Hope this helps, Nicola x
