What about a big, soft storybook with flaps and buttons and other interactive bits?

Other wise something musical is always fun to grow into - but you have to be careful it's not something that drives you up the wall!

my son Jake will be 9 months at Xmas, and I plan on getting him nothing!
The vast selection of relatives on either side of our families will buy enough for him I feel!

But yeah, I would go with a book, it's something you can enjoy together :o)

Or something like wooden building blocks- they will certainly grow with your little boy!

hi. how about something for when the child grows older. i got my little boy one if these 3 in one cars.where is goes for being strapped in with a parent handle with a safety bar around him that can be removed lateron, to a car the can use them selves as they get older.i have one for my son. its great and his nearly 3 and still uses it. well worth the money. i think monther care do one.
or maybe a shape sorter or some building blooks.

Sounds really good. I've got an 18 month old nephew so could be a perfect Xmas present. You said you can find it at Mothercare but you didn't say what its called. Could you let me know pls.

couldnt find one in mothercare but toys r us do one. very similar. i have this one but with out the large base.
its called a Bubble Go car. ref number 703435 its £80. i didnt pay that much as mine was in the sale. i think i payed about £50.
its great quality, and still looks new after so much use. its they right size to use indoors as well.

hi all, thanks for your contributions and i hope that trike works out for you peter.

Ive got him rattles, books, generally noisy toys and my mum is getting him next size up clothes and he is having a trike for the next few months as he will be crawling soon, v.soon. R u all prepared for crimbo? im looking forward to it as it will be Tristan's first christmas.

hi there i think a sit and push along car would be ideal thats what i got my son for his first xmas and he was only 4 months at the time he started standing and walking with it at 10 months so helped me out a lot also have another boy who is 1 this xmas iv got him a leapfrog play table with lots of things to do but in 1wk gunna be a mum for the third time (its a girl this time ) and she will only be 2 months what do i buy her???
