I've read the many reviews on Bugaboo and the couple of reviews on the Quinny but am still unsure which to go for. I am due in June so am still researching options.

I like the idea of the Quinny opening function but does this work? Also which is easiest to manoever as I'm not exactly the strongest person in the world!

Any advice welcome and should I avoid second hand due to safety??

Hi anna, I have not had any of these pushchairs but I love the bugaboo. I have read a few bad reviews on the quinny, I have also read good ones but it seems like you either love this pram or hate it.

There is no reason why you could not use a second hand pram, they recomend that you always get a new matress for the carrycot part and a new car seat unless you know 100% that the car seat has not been involved in any accidents. Hope this helps, Nicolax

We reviewed a number including icandy, Jane, Quinny and Bugaboo...I went to Twoleftfeet in Bedford...its is massive store and they have all types that you can try against each other as it is often difficult to compare alongside (and they are cheaper than most other places!). They are really great as they let you try them in your car aswell! I managed to get my choice down to two the Jane and Bugaboo but found that the Jane did not fit in my car aswell as the Bugaboo as you can fold the carrycot bit flat if you take out the sides...very handy! If I had the space I would have probably bought the Jane (said Hanay its Spanish) as they have a hard carrycot that you can strap in the car aswell as the car seat. They have also done alot of research on car safety etc.

So anyway I have bought the Bugaboo...if you do go second hand make sure it is the 2008 model as they have made loads of improvements to it including foam tyres (the models before got lots of punctures), The folding mechanism has also been upgraded and the shopping basket underneath has been made bigger. Also buy a new car seat do not get a second hand one as you never know if its been in an accident! The Bugaboo uses the Maxi Cosi one (the safest on the market)...and whats £80-£100 for your childs safety.

I do think it is down to personnal preferance in the end but as I say try them out and go for one that folds easy! I know the Bugaboo is more money BUT for me it was the best option that suited my needs.

Good luck! oh and twoleftfeet also has all the other baby bits, a discount card that gives you additional discount depending on the value spent and they tell you honestly what you need and don't need...sorry to go on about them but they were really good and didn't force you into buying anything.

I went for the Bugaboo as I wanted a buggyboard that did not invalidate my pram warrranty...something to bear in mind for future babies maybe!

I love my bugaboo & is really manoeverable and seems to have plenty of growth room.  The only draw back I have is that is doesn't go in the plane as it's not a fold flat style but some airlines let you take it on.

We went for the bugaboo and I LOVE IT!! My NCT group of 7 agree that it's by far the best they have tried out.

We used the carrycot as a moses basket until he was 4 months old, then he went into his big-boy cot.

Because the top and frame come apart and the wheels come off easily, it is really easy to into the car around other stuff, including friend's buggies.
