i have a toddler who is almost 2 and am going in for a c-section this monday to have my second child.as i have had this operation before i am aware of the limititations when it comes to lifting anything heavier than new baby and am wondering how i will cope when my husband returns to work getting my 2 year old into her highchair or booster seat for meals.she has a play table and chair but will not sit still and eat there.i have heard of these little highchairs that are almost at ground level that the child can sit in so lifting is unnecessary.does anyone know where i can find out more please?

Have you seen the wooden high chair in Argos, It is a table and chair that slot together to form a highchair but the chair can be used by itself to form a low "high" chair. It has a fixed feeding tray on it and so may be better than a normal small play chair?? Not sure if it may work for you but may be worth a look?

Mothercare also do a highchair/booster chair which is supposed to be attached to a chair but works just as well on the floor.

I have an old high chair which my aunty gave us when my first was born, it doesnt have straps so have always had problems keeping them sat in it once they were crawling, now i use a pair of rains and strap it to the underneath of the chair. as you only need it for 6 weeks it seems expensive to buy a new one, maybe your 2 year old will sit in the chair and use the table with some rains on. My little girl didnt like it at first but once she got used to it didnt mind, after a month we eased up on using them and she now only gets down to go to the toilet at meal times. She is also very proud of the fact she sits to the table like a big girl, like mummy and daddy do.
