We're so confused, we have narrowed our search down to 2 completely different travels systems but can't decide! We like the silvercross 3D but are concerned about the reviews I have read re. the folding system breaking easliy, we also like the maxi-cosi mura 4 but as it appears to be quite new I can't find any reviews from anyone who has one. Does anyone own one of these!!??
I have heard good things about the silvercross 3D - it seems a good allround travel system/pram/pushchair If you are concerned about the folding mechanism another pram very similiar in design is the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette - nothing but good stuff about M&P I have to say!
I had a look online for the Mura - and I have to say at first glance I am not entirely convinced about the design
It certainly looks swish but I would be concerned about the rigid appearance of the seat unit and the strange handle/bumper bar thingy on the front????
I would see if you can find a store retailer who has them (mothercare or john lewis maybe) where you could actually try it out and see what it feels like to push and fold down.
I have one of these and they are great. although it is quite chunky it really is very smooth. It also has a soft carry cot which fit into the lie flat seat unit. but the best bit is that it folds really small which I have found that other travel systems do not do. The price is great too.
I also thought the mura looked quite good. I live in the middle of nowhere and really need an 'off road' type buggy that actually works, not just looks pretty! I want to be able to lie baby flat at first and have baby facing me but also be able to convert to a pushchair that can face either way once baby can sit up. Also need to be able to push with one hand so i can have the dogs in the other! The only ones I have seen which claim to do all this is an urban detour in mothercare and the mura.
Barbara, where did you get the mura from? i've only seen them online and really want to have a look at in 'in the flesh' before i make a decision.
Any other mums out there got any sugestions for a pram which might suit? I've looked on the net at so many now I seem to be getting even more confused and baby is due in 6 weeks!
Gem - we live in the Brecon Beacons, & went for the mothercare 'urban detour altitude' 3 wheeler, with the 'endurance' car seat, which makes it a travel system. Although the pram itself doesn't face you, when used as a travel system, the car seat faces you, and it's sooooo easy to steer single handed, folds up fairly small, & is a dream to put up & drop down with 1 hand.
We've had Abi out in it as both a pushchair & with the car seat, & she slept soundly, even over rough ground. 1 thing I would say is if you are thinking of getting both bits (pram & carseat), you will need a head support as you only get 1 with the pram, & it's a bit of a pain swapping it between the 2 if you know baby's going to be in the car seat longer than the recommended 2 hours, but they're cheap enough - we got 1 in mothercare for £6. All in all, we're really pleased with it.
