Hi,

our 1st baby is due in 9 weeks and we were thinking about getting a crib as opposed to a moses basket. Does anyone have any advice on which cribs they found the best?

Hi

Just found this website, our first is due in 10 weeks and also thinking about buying a crib rather thana mosses basket. Did you recieve any advise and also what did you end up buying, as I am now not sure if we should put the baby in his/her cot as soon as its born??

i found a crib very good in the first months when the baby sleeps in your room as they take up very little space. I also found they were more sturdy than a moses basket and i used mine until my son was six and a half months. I'm definatly going to buy one for this baby. If you look at kiddiecare.com they have some good ones at half the normal price.

Thanks Johanne, I do like the Gliding cribs, however seem to get some conflicting advise which really doesn't help... based on you're experience can you tell me if your son slept in his crib all the time in the first 6 months or did he sleep in a cot during the day?

've also heard that if the baby sleeps in your room for the too long then you may have problems with moving them to their room when they grow out of the crib etc.

my son didnt even have a cot until he was 6 months old so he had to sleep in his crib. I didnt have any problems getting him to sleep in his own room and in my area we are advised to have your babies sleeping in your room for at least the first 6 months, it definatly makes night feeds easyer!

Hi,
I brought me crib from a company called www.pocoropa.co.uk.
I was very please with thier service and the quality of thier products. My baby has slept in her crib for 6 mths now and I'm please to say she'd very happy.
