RATHER THAN COMMENTING PLEASE MAY I BE ALLOWED TO ASK???
1. IS IT NORMAL FOR ONE TO URINATE SO OFTEN??
2. IS IT SAFE TO HAVE NORMAL SEX DURING PREGNANCY??
3. IS IT NORMAL FOR BREASTS TO FEEL SOOO IRRITABLE AND ITCHY, AND HOW LONG DOES THIS GO FOR??
4. IS IT NORMAL FOR BREASTS TO PRODUCE A BIT OF LIQUID BEFORE ONE GIVES BIRTH??

THANK YOU

HI Jackie,
Yes, all of those things are perfectly normal, in fact common. There's pressure on your bladder (urinating) as the baby grows, your boobs are growing and changing so the skin can be irritable and itchy - it will probably settle down. And leaking a bit from the breasts before birth is also normal.

As for sex, unless your doctor tells you not to because you have a high-risk pregnancy then you can have sex as normal throughout until your waters break.

thank you sooo much, for the advice was having a bit of a problem with husband dearest, as first timers we thought he would some how puncture the baby or something gruesome like that. at least if all is normal i am glad, i am urinating several times in an hour, might as well post my desk next to the loo. as for the breasts absolute torcher at times i feel like yanking my top off in public and giving them a good scrub to stop the itch.

TA GUYS!!!

Hi Jackie
Scribbler's right - all those things can be foibles of pregnancy!
If you find the loo breaks are still very frequent by the time of your next midwive appt, just mention it. It's most likely pressure from the uterus as Scribbler says, but a simple urine test will rule out any other potential problems that can include frequent urination as a symptom.
Any more questions - feel free to ask away!
How far into your pregnancy are you?

At what stage of pregnancy does one ususlly start to show a bump?
Show/hide user stats
Hi

Jackie - The feelings in your belly may be growing pains, or baby lying funny and squishing you, if they are small pains and come and go I wouldn't be too worried, if the pain is bad it may be worth phoning your midwife.
I think the midwife will discuss with you where you want to give birth at your 25wk appointment, I have mine next week so I will be asking then.

Tina - it depends on if it is your first or not, and on your body shape. Some people start showing after a few weeks, some don't show till 6 months. everyone is different.

Take care

hi all,

tina, after about 20 weeks things usually start to develop but everyone is different. at my parenting class everyone is roughly 35 wks but some of us have smaller bumps and others bigger.

my babys head is now head down and my hubbie says hes worried about hurting baba when having nookie, he says oh i dont want to hurt or frighten the baby! i found this so funny and really sweet! alix
