I looked into the natal hypnotherapy cds and decided to take hypnobirthing classes from a local person. SHe was wonderful, she has had two babies using the methods and I had an amazing homebirth with no pain relief, the only time I felt anything was while my babies head cowned. It was great, I would definetly recommend it. Before the birth I was really terrified, but hypnobirthing helped me so much.
My partner was skepitcal and ended up being really amazed that I did it.
The person I took classes from charged £150 and they were at her house, her website is www.hypnobirths.co.uk

Sounds very interesting, thanks Zoe. I'm off there to have a look.

I gave birth to a little girl in August. I'm 35 and this was my first pregnancy and like most first timers I was quite anxious about giving birth. I used the Natal Hypnotherapy hospital birth preparation CD from 32 weeks, listening to it 4 or 5 times a week (although after I listened to it carefully the first time I fell asleep the majority of the other times as it was SO relaxing!) My labour lasted 9hrs in total, from very first pains until the birth (natural with no intervention.) On arrival at the labour ward I was already fully dilated and received no pain relief whatsoever as it was all over in 1 hour - I didn't even get to put the birth music cd on!

I had a fantastic birth experience which I believe was down to listening to the Natal Hypnotherapy CD. I felt very much in control at all times and remained very calm especially during the last stage (even managing to laugh and joke with my midwife between pushes!!)

I'd highly recommend this CD to anyone who is worried about giving birth. I was dreading the pain but using the cd gave me a great start to being a new mum.

I also went to HypnoBirthing classes for my baby's birth, they were wonderful and we learnt so much. I think it is similar to the CDs but going to classes was great as my husband learnt so much and was such a help. My midwife was really impressed and is now recommending HypnoBirthing to everybody, LOL! I found my lady on the main site which is www.hypnobirthing.co.uk I think. Thoroughly recommended

I am a midwife and hypnobirthing teacher , i find it a brilliant course , and so do my couples. i think the hardest thing to grasp for those considering it is if its good value for money , but everyone who does it says more value than i could even say in words.

i  sometimes feel bad for couples i meet in the Hospital where i work who may be  having a tricky  time  because i know for a fact had they done hypnobirthing their approach would be different and so would their experience of birth.

I encourage all parents to research a hypnobirthing practitioner and book onto a course as its fantastic for mum, dad and most importantly baby !
