hi everybody!

we are having problems with our heating it comes on ad then goes off ....aaarrrggghh have already paid £120 out and prob not rectified so i am now observing it to see what temp it kicks off....so frustrating!!

its so annoying Eowyn when you cant sleep i was babysitting last night til 12.30 and couldnt sleep when i goyt in..and then was up at half seven so have felt like rubbish all day...just realised that most of you would have loved uninterrupted sleep for more than 5 hrs!!! but have felt headachey and sick all day!!

hubby just gone for chinese hopefully that will make me feel better?? had a pleasant day been getting the voucher shopping for crimbo...hate giving vouchers but sometimes its the only answer!! called into work...miss my colleagues and the kids but dont miss the "politics" of work and staff...lol could feel myself stressing at what the staff were whinging about...lol...not my problem til march!

james has been a star all day apart from one episode of the screaming abdabs for no reason...lol and then he fell asleep!! so that was the problem!! all well...babysitting tomorrow .....easy job ...nice kids so they are a pleasure to do....

right ladies have fun  x x  sarah and james!!

Still here Eowyn,

Ella's still not well, bless her, so not getting much time to do anything, not sure if its teeth, cold ,  or brewing for another ear infection, she's just not a happy bunny at the moment, I'm not taking her to nursery this week, give her a break from catching things. In fact i'm thinking about taking her out altogether, its costing a fortune to have her ill all the time, and i'm not getting any more time to do anything because she is constantly ill and up in the night!!! she never gets up in the night, but just recently its been horrible for 3 am or like now 1am crying sessions.

Sorry to hear about your heating situation Sarah, is it an old system, our old one did a similar thing and we had the gas man out about five times until a young lad came and spotted the obvious, it was nothing to do with the boiler but the thermostat on the wall that was faulty, so it would reach a certain temp and turn itself off. in our case the temp was just off freezing!

Ella can finally sit up all on her own She sat playing with her toys this morning whilst I was getting dressed, making bed, drying hair, and  I suddenly realised I hadn't had to catch her or sit her back up when she toppled over, she had sat for about 15 mins just watching me and playing, what a little star. Then the day went down hill as she started to rub her ears a lot and cry and the amount of snot where does it all come from?

I should really know the answer to this but after the bottom 2 teeth which ones do they get next? its been such a long time i don't really remember the others teething apart from Zoe seeming to go from o teeth to a full set in a month (what a nighmare that was for crying).

right shes dropped off so i.m away to my bed to

love to all

I'm not sure which teeth come next. I've been wondering the same thing. What are you giving Ella in the way of pain relief? I've been using teething powder...she loves it. I give her that if her cheek is red and it seems to quite quickly stop looking red. Poor Ella, she does seem to be suffering, poor you too, you must be tired. Iona is very snotty but I think it's just the teething. She hates having her nose wiped (or face washed), you'd think we we're trying to murder her or something. She makes it much harder by refusing to cooperate and shakes her head side to side as you try to wipe...spreading snot everywhere....Mmmm lovely!

Iona is also able to sit up for long periods, it's great as she can play so much better sat up. She's still not crawling but rolls or humps on her back. This weekend she worked out she could go round in circles onher tummy and she also when stretchhhhhhhhhhhhhhing for a toy managed to move foreward on a few occassions so maybe she will learn to crawl soon, Not that I'm in any hurry for her to be zooming all over the place!!!

Hope you are all well

Well i'm gutted i wanted tickets to see Pink but didnt read my email so missed advance sales so now only option is to pay £185 for two tix...i would do it but im worried about them not being genuine!....

And on  top of that i have had a tiff with hubby and have not spoken to him all night...lol i hate silence.

James will sit for short spells on his own but soon wobbles over!! wont be long....i so want him to stay little..he hd mein fits of giggles this morning and was then laughing even more at me...he is such a happy boy!

Gill, is Ella enjoying nursery? can u not get any help with cost? i am dreading going back to work just leaving him will be such a wrench

Rigt i am off to bed, gonna try and go to playgroup in the morning...try...lil man cant get up in the morning and certainly not able to get to playgroup for half nine....hahaha

Hi All

Eowyn, I have been giving Ella calprophen (not sure how to spell it) and paracetamol, two hours apart as sugested by GP for her ears, I hate giving it to her so only do it when things get really bad. When she was at hight of ear infection before her eardrum ruptured even that wasn't touching the pain she just sobbed it was heartbreaking. I use bonjella on her gums and she has a cool teether she likes to suck on. At lunchtime I tied and ice cube inside a double thickness muslin and she was loving sucking on it, she ate much better afterwards so it must have helped her gums, I think it must be the top two teeth next as she has huge lumps in her gums up there they look evil, poor little love.

Sarah, yes when Ella is at nursery she loves it, she greets Dee and Julie with huge grins and gives them snuggles, makes me feel strange leaving her but I know the girls so well because I used to work with them, they love her to bits and she is always happy to be left with them which is a blessing. I can get some help with fees but its still a dent in the money we have coming in. I am going back to work  the end of this month so Ella will do 2 full days,  i don't want to leave Ella everyday so starting off with 2 days it will be nice to still have time to go to playgroup and swimming in the mornings. Not sure how she will get on being left all day. when she's a bit older I will do an extra day She seems to come out able to do something new everytime she goes, she claps her hands now which is a new thing, so sweet I  keep putting if your happy and you know it on to see her do it.

Her ear doesn't seem to be bothering her as much today, I wonder if it feels funny blocked up and muffled from where its been all yucky. Its just her gums bothering her.

I may be a granny by the morning, Sons girlfriend has been having contractions on and off since friday, and has been leeking fluid, the hospital sent her home and told her it was a latin labour? anyone heard that one before its a new one on me, apparently its where labour starts and stops but now she's having them every 4 mins and they are lasting about a minute so we'll see what the night brings, I want to go up there, but its not very practical.

I'm off to bed been rambling for ages keep hoping I'm going to get a text saying she's gone into hospital, but I bet it stops again overnight, that seems to be what's happening, told my son that nows the time for nookie, he told me that he'd rather not have this converstion with me, his girlfriend was laughing her head off in the background.

Really am off now,

gill and happy clappy Ella

Are the top 2 teeth the ones that come after the bottom 2? Ionas gums are bulging at the front (I'm sure they didn't used to) but I can't see anything where they actually come through the gums. Mind you she doesn't really let me look!

Any news yet Gill on being a grandma? How exciting! Hope everyone is Ok. Will you get to go see everyone soon?

Had 2 really bad nights with Iona. Oh she's waking up I better go. Hope you all have a good day.

Hi all

Still not a grandma yet, she's only 2 cm's dilated, she's very tired and emotional poor girl has been expecting it to happen for days and it keeps stopping, any tips for keeping it going that I pass on.

Ella has just come back from nursery, the girls want to know if I can train all the babies to be so laid back and happy, she has been a complete star all morning, when she is well she is so easy to deal with, she just loves everything, and everybody. Even the woman that runs the nursery said she can't believe how well she has settled in she said she keeps slipping down to the baby room for a cuddle because she is so gorgeous, its nice to know they all love her and that she gets plenty of attention.

OH and I went out last night for dinner, eldest came home to babysit for us, that is the first time we have been out for an entire evening together since we had her!!!!

I need to find a regular babysitter but don't know where to look I'd be a bit worried leaving her with a teenager, or anyone I didn't really know, we have got to start reclaiming  a bit of life back.

Gotta go Ella is stinky yuk yuk

hey everyone

sorry I have not really been around - my internet has been playing up!  Seems to be working fine now!

glad everyone is doing fine.

Gill - are you a Grandma yet?

No teeth here.  Ciaran is now 17lb11 weighed last tuesday, was a little strange.  My friends child that is 2 months younger than Ciaran is 18lb5!  but every baby is different I suppose!  lol.  We are getting and keeping breakfast down.  I use farleys porridge usually.  I have been using Farleys fruit and yoghurt this week and he has enjoyed that too.  The milk we are still having sicky moments.  As for tea time I spoke to a HV about the foods he was eating and she seemed to think it might be the foods that contain a sauce!  i.e Spag bol, sausage pasta....  the cauliflour cheese and potato he seems fine with...  He is slowly crawlng, and rolls over loads - especially when I change his bum.  He loves being on his feet, he actually dances!! haha - he is such a pleasure!

He is now sleeping through.  He has a yoghurt before his last feed and then he sleeps from 9 til 7.30 this morning! That extra hour helps so much, I have been in bed for 10.30pm all week.  He is singing!!!  He is just so happy.

Does anyone have problems with their little ens feeding during the day if their out?  Ciaran doesnt feed if I'm out all day.  He will have his breakfast in themorning and last week I went (and week before) went to town and he didnt want to feed until I came home!  at 6pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Its mad, and I cannot just give him a bottle as he doesnt drink it!

anyhoo....  Not really much to report...

But mr wriggler has done me a poo poo and he smells so we better go!

love to all

Hi All

No still not a grandma, they went off to hospital again!!!!! last night, but she  was sent home again, she's only 3 cm dilated, seems to be a cm every 2 days, they are driving me mad on the phone every five minutes, asking should they go to the hospital I keep telling her if she can be laughing and chatting on the phone for 20 mins without any sign of discomfort she is not in established  labour and does not need to go to hospital, they then totally ignore me and go to hospital anyway?

Charlene,  Ella won't eat when she is out either, she is too easily distracted by all the new sights, I have found that if I can find a really quiet corner away from distractions she is better, the other day out of desperation i took her back to the car park and fed her in the car!! not an option when I walk to town.

Gotta go OH wants the computer.

Gill and ella

hey

lol - Gill, why ask you and then ignore you?  Crazy!!! hahaha....  She will be soon hopefully with thefirst 3 cm the longest!!!

Ciaran isnt really distracted, he loves being in hispushchair, loves being pushed around.  He wakes and then falls back to sleep is very inquisitive but everytime I try and feed him he falls asleep.  cant really fond a quiet corner in derby anymore - thenew westfield centre has made sure of that!  Not even if we stop for coffee does he want a feed.  Tried to give him a bottle last week and He only drank little bit of it and then decided he didnt want it!!

Crazy child - Ilove food and have to eat while I'm in town!

Hi everyone

I havent been on here for ages....wasnt sure if you were all still here! thwere's been loads to catch up one.....glad to hear you're all doing well 9for the most part anyway)

Caelan is a little star. He's cut all 4 of his front teeth and is chewing like mad on his side gums (they're all hard and bumpy!) He crawls along the floor like a little caterpillar - it's very cute! It's funny to see something across the other side of the room catching his eye, then he's off! He's a pretty amiable little fella, smiling and giggling lots and charming the pants off everyone, but he also knows what he wants and boy does he let you know when he's not happy! He just wants to be on the go all the time, a very energetic and curious little soul

Anyway the reason I came on is to see if you ladies can help me out with any info on babysitting services? sarah, I know you dont live far from me (I'm in North Manchester). Do you work for a professional sitting service?

Dan and I have absolutely no one around to help us out and it would mean the world to us to get a couple of hours to ourselves sometimes. Our relationship has really struggled since Caelan came along. i'm run ragged and Dan's finding it hard juggling homelife with work and the pressure of his final year at uni. I've been really really ill with flu recently and it hit home hard just how alone we are here. If I could just find someone who could get to know Caelan a bit and help out wth babysitting now and again it would be a massive help but I dont know where to start looking for help.......does anyone know anything about professional babysitting services?????

I'm glad to see you'e all still around and supporting each other. Lots of love to you all and your teething, wriggling little beauties!

ITS OFFICIAL I'M NOW A GRANDMOTHER!!!!!!!!

Baby Conner (not sure on the name) was born at 6.21am. weighing 6lbs 9 oz. he was due on the 28th.

My bloody son  in driving me up the wall, he forgets that I also have a baby, he rang me at midnight to tell me they were keeping her in hospital, I said not to ring again until the morning , but he rang 3 times overnight to keep telling me she was still in labour and wondered why at 4am I finally lost my rag with him and told him to stop phoning me. The pair of them have been texting and ringing me all day, I swear if he rings to describe the contents of another nappy, I will drive up there and throttle him!!!!! I know he's excited but please ring someone else like his dad and give me a break.

I'm going up to see them on thurs I think but I may wait till sat so she gets a rest. although with my son behaving  like a hyperactive toddler at christmas I doubt the poor girl will get any peace.
