Hope everyone is OK! How are all the bumps out there?
Great to hear from you Steph! Sorry to hear Harry isn't well! Lilly was really poorly the day before her birthday! She eneded up having antibiotics and then she was OK for her birthday thank god! I hope Em, Oz and DJ also get better!
Sorry to hear about Oz having funny moments Rach! I hope he will be OK! Like Em says - don't let them fob you off! get to the bottom of the problem!
Well its a lovely sunny day today so I think a trip to the park is called for! Had a mega busy day yesterday so I want to chill today! Lilly had her 1yr review with the HV yesterday! She was very impressed with her! Which made me feel very proud! Lilly's walking is really coming on now! She doesn't even crawl anymore! So funny going from those first tentative steps to full blown toddling about! Need to get her proper shoes now and not just cruisers!
WOW hi Steph! Hope you are well! Harry sounds like he's coming on leaps and bounds. You'll have to keep us posted! Lois is also in the club by the way!!
DILEMMA: Need some advice!!!! When DJ was poorly with the vomiting bug last week, I gave him lots of milk, as the doc had previously said that ANY fluids were good. Problem is, since the tummy bug, he is refusing milk now, and has become fussy with food. I never thought i'd see the day! Not sure what to do. Don't want him getting osteoporosis! Heeeeeeelp!!
HI to all the gals! By the way, did I tell you I fell victim to same bug as Deej on tues night. It was nasty.
Off to wrap some pressies for my baby. ONE TOMORROW!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS where has that year gone? This time last year, I was in a lotta pain...
When Lilly had gastorenteritis she went off her milk afterwards! When they have had a bug they get a bit milk intolarant for a week or so! If his eating doesn't improve after a week I would go see the docs! But don't forget - their appetite is supposed to decrease around now!
xx
PS this time last year my boobs were 2 HUGE watermelons that were pouring milk! Ugh!
Em, give DJ as much of anything he fancies for now. His appetite will return to normal within a few days, and no milk for this time won't do any harm. If you are worried about his calcium intake, try other things like yoghurt, cheese and other dairy. There is other non-dairy food rich in calcium, but I forget what.
Hope you are both over the bug now.
Emily is still ill. I have to give her eye drops 4 times a day and she hates it! DH was off yesterday so I went into work, but I have to take today off. Her appetite is improving very slowly, and she only woke up once last night, but that was because her nappy needed changing.
Lou, I didn't know babies appetites decreased at this age. I suppose that makes sense, they have grown faster in this year than they ever will again.
Right, off to phone work to say I won't be in gain
Thanks for the Birthday wishes! DJ is having a lovely day. I just popped to baby clinic for a weigh and measure. He is 26lbs and 79.5cm. Spoke to HV about the milk, she said what you said Lou n steff, not to worry, but to up the yogurt and cheese where possible!"
Also, asked her about the MMR. I was quite surprised that she wasn't saying it was brilliant. She advised me to read up about it on internet and make a decision. She mentioned the separate jabs too.
Steff, poor Em. Its horrid for them having sticky eyes. My sister was plagued with that as a baby, so I know wat it's like.
Lou, my bazookas have got bigger again!! THey have self inflated.
Happy bithday to all the babies!!!! I don't know where the past year has gone!
It's a shame so many of them have been poorly round their birthdays. I think autumn is one of the times of year when they get ill. Harvey hasn't been too bad. Cold, cough and he's getting another cold again. Slight temperature but nothing too bad.
Harvey and Elliott now play together well - Harvey tries to play football and he can actually kick the ball quite well. Took him for a nerw pair of shoes yesterday - can't believe how expensive they were!
Elliott was man of the match in his football game today so very proud of him.
Next Saturday we're having a party for friends and family for both boys birthdays'. Should be fun. I need to get 2 cakes - won't be baking them myself, just don't have time.
Steph, great to see you on her again. Get you, neighbours with Alan Sugar! I love The Apprentice, wonder when there'll be a new series. Congrats on getting a pub. Do you want to be pregnant or not?
Got to go and take some photos to make an invitiation for next week. I'm not very well prepared! I'll try and upload some on here.
Hi everyone - sorry havent been on for a while but please Skye and I would first like to wish you all a belated Birthday and that includes you
Ffion, Harry, Oscar, Liliana, Lilly and Daniel
Hope you all had a great day. Skye had a fab weekend and had 2 parties with the first on the friday with 15 of her little friends and on saturday with family and our friends. Although she got stroppy when she was playing pass the parcel with her little friends as she did not want to pass it when it came to her - she proper screamed each time!!!! And that put her in a bad mood as when eveyone sang happy birthday to her she was in a right mood but lucikly it wasnt long after that before everyone left.....Did all the mummies found themselves replaying the day of the birth on their birthday???? Me and OH couldnt help ourselves!!!!
Steff sorry about work - what is it your not enjoying apart from the obvious leaving em behind. Although I'm not hating going back I actually cant wait to finish end of Feb and I'm looking forward to knowing that I wont be going back after baby is born....
MMR - Totally agree with Steff, more advantage to having it than not!
I feel so much better now and it makes me happy to think that I wont be having the same pregnancy like I did with Skye. The sickness seems to have stopped after I had the Scan and Im not as tired during the day either but i do go to bed early although i find myself waking up a lot at night and not being able to go back to sleep....
Steph great to hear from you again. Glad you and Harry are doing well and to think you could be joining the club....how exciting.
I hope you are all OK! Happy Belated Birthday to Skye and Happy Birthday to Harvey! Can't believe they are all 1! It's mad!
So how are the bumps? Glad to hear you are feeling better this time round Lois! I bet you are having boy - that's why you feel so different!! te he he look at me with the old wives tales! Trying to convince hubby we want another baby! He says we have to buy a house (we are renting) and he has to get a new job! I have got him down to just buying the new house so I have to sort that one out now! I want the babes to have 2 years between them so we need to start trying end of November (which we did with Lilly)!
Oh Kath tell me about the price of shoes! We bought Lilly some proper walking shoes and they were 26.00!!??! Can you believe that? More than I pay for a pair of shoes! Oh well - they have to fit them right! Lilly is now refusing to go in her pushchair but she won't have reins (she just sits down) and she won't hold hands! Thats OK when we are in a shopping centre but not when we are on the pavement! My princess is tunring into a right stubborn little madam!
Can't believe how big DJ is Em! Lilly was 21lb 9oz and 75 cm at her 1 yr check!
Happy birthday to those I have missed including Skye and Harvey.
Keep wearing your hubby down Lou!!!
Oscar has got really sweet over the past couple of days. He turns his head to the side when he's eating and just smiles at me which I can't help smiling at. Then this morning we had a bit of stand-off as he toddled out of his room to get some brekkie before I had changed his nappy, so I just sat in his room and told him that he wasn't getting food until he'd got a clean nappy on. He stood by his nursery door for around 5mins and eventually came in and sat down on his change mat! Also this evening he took the lead when I said he needed to get ready for bed and wandered into his room, sitting on his change mat and as I went to get him in a better position he started to lie down so I could change his nappy! I am very proud of him.
Lou - Oscar was also 75cm at his 1yr check, but he was 26lb 13oz - he's just a little short fatty!!!! Love him to bits though
My bump is going great. I bought a 'bellybelt' combo kit so I can keep using my normal jeans. The kit is fab - I can't believe I didn't think about getting something like that with Oscar.
Lois - I'm so glad you are feeling better, as Lou said it may be a boy
Oh yes another bit of news Oscar is no longer a boobie boy He had his last feed Friday night and then on Saturday I just decided he was going to have cows milk. He didn't create or anything. If I say again how proud I am of him will you all get annoyed?!?!
Anyway off to chill out and watch Supernanny. Hope everyone is well and happy
