Morning All

Paula, glad the tour went well, hope you enjoy the class tomorrow and meet some nice couples...

Has everyone bought newborn cardies? On some of the checklists it says to get them but I'm not sure if I need them????

Katy, I have got a nursing bra in my current size already as I don't want to have nothing until I get measured after the milk comes in. It's a bit of a nightmare isn't it? Glad you found the primark nighties, I got 2 of them as well!

Lou, hope the hospital tour goes well tonight! The coffee mornings are NCT organised ones - you might find NCT do them in your area and even if you haven't done a NCT course you can pay to join and then get on mailing lists/newsletters for their activities - it is worth looking into!

I have been getting quite a lot of braxton hicks yesterday and this morning - well at least that's what I think they are, I'm never too sure!

I am off to the hopsital this morning for a breastfeeding class which should be interesting! It's a women's only one, so I am really hoping we don't have to get our boobs out!!!!! Then this afternoon have got another reflexology session....oooooh can't wait

I'll post back later and let you know how my boobie course goes!!!

Morning all,

Well what an eventful night we had last night... not sure where to start

As we was getting ready for bed last night about half 10 the pains returned... after about 15 mins they were so crippling i could hardly stand up. It wasnt so much painful more like pressure in my tummy and it kept going hard. So my OH told me to ring the delivery suit and see what they'd advice i do. Suprisingly they wanted me to come up and just get checked over just in case... so of we trotted to the hospital and got there by about 11.10... i had to do a urine sample and they had a little feel of her to see how she was postitioned. So they then hooked me up a little machine that measured Kayleigh's heart rate and also measured any tightening of my tummy... that was hooked up for about 15 mins and the doctor said that Kayleigh is happy girl (she kept trying to kick monitor off!) i had about 5 tummy contractions during that time. Then i had another doctor who came to see me who did an internal check to see if i was dialating (they thought i was in early labour by this point) which i wasnt and they also measured Kayleigh... their still concerend about her size so i'm waiting for a phone call to go for a scan. Anyway the contractions stopped and they moved me up to the ward to read Kayleigh's heart rate and she was still happy. So at 2am they said we could go home and if anything developed that i could go straight back up.

So i'm not in labour but she is moving down now thats for sure. I'm not too worried about her size as my midwife measured me last week at 30cm and they measured me 28/29 cm so not sure how i'm going backwards but all i know is she's happy in there at the minute.

So by the time we got into bed at 2.30 my OH had to be back up at 5 for work so he's shattered. So he'll have a nice sleep when he gets home i think.

Anyway that was the excitement of my night .

I'll pop on later, i've got baby clothes to wash to get my maternity bag packed

Take care,

Paula & a very impatient Kayleigh

Good Morning Girls!!

Well Paula sounds like your having a very eventfull time!! I know what you mean about the pains tho....I dropped my OH off @ wrk y/day adn I think Olivia's head has moved more down as it felt like she was seriously going to fall out...and kept hitting a nerve!! My tail bone in my bum was killing me as well...kept heppening every couple of mins....my bump was rock hard all the time!! My back was killing me and I just thought OMG i need to get home quick!!!! So I drove bk home as fast as I could. Was due to go to the hospital anyway to see my grandma.....when I arrived there I sat on her bed (by this time OH had come bk home as I couldnt cope with the pains) And about every 10 mins I was getting very bad period pains...and had to keep leaning bkwards. So when we were leaving my OH asked if I wanted to go to the MAT ward...but I decided to see how things went!! Still getiing pains...not as bad tho...so just keeping relaxed now!! Seeing as her head is 3/5 engaged then...i think now she has moved even further. But its just a waiting game...I want her to stay put till about 37wks..even tho I am ready for her....she is still not cooked right. So need her to stay put!!

Any way will keep all posted...prob nothing going to happen....I keep thinking its just that time now...they are just giving us a slight taste of whats to come LOL.

Lots of lv Emma +(painfull) Olivia 35+2 xxx

Afternoon ladies,

It certainly sounds as though both Emma and Paula are having a very eventful time of it at the moment. Fingers crossed that both Olivia and Kayleigh stay put for a little while longer, although it does seem as though you will both be the first October mummies.

Has anyone used Two Left Feet to order anything? I am having a nightmare time with them at the moment trying to get my pram. It was ordered on 28th July and was in stock and I have still not received anything even though my Dad's credit card has been debited! They are a nightmare to get hold of, I was on hold for 45 minutes on Tuesday!! I am seriously considering canceling my order and getting it locally now. Sorry, rant over!!

Been having a few BH over the last few days, nothing too uncomfortable just noticable.

All is fine with me, little man is being a real fidget today and he was last night so didn't get too much sleep lol!!

Off to try and get hold of Two Left Feet, good job I haven't got the MW today as my blood pressure would probably be sky high lol!!

Take care

Katy and little man 33+1 xx

Afternoon all,

Well Emma i think your right everything is quiet here again  just teasing though i've still got another 7 weeks so she needs to stay put for a little longer. Just had a phone call from the hospital my scan is at 3.30 today so i'll let you know how i get on.

Katy - I havent ordered from them but i have read bad reviews about their delivers etc ... sorry... if i was you i would cancel the order and get it from somewhere else. At least you paid by credit card so if they are a real nightmare you can dispute it that way.

Anyway its lunch time and i'm starving! I'll speak to you all later.

Paula & Kayleigh

Good Luck paula!!! I did not realise you had 7wks left huni. Lets hope she stays put were its nice and warm!!

I only have 4wks and 5days 2go....ha not that I am counting.I am feeling like she is just gonna woosh out of me @ the min...keep needing the loo every 5mins tho!! And its not just like lttle wee's its a decant wee!! LOL. I REALLY want her to stay put tho!!! She is very wriggly tho?!?

I have just managed to get through to Two Left Feet, after being on hold for 35 minutes and apparently the pram is due into them next Wednesday so I shold have it by next Friday at the latest. If I haven't had it by then I will be canceling my order.

I did point out to them that at the time it was showing as being in stock and is still showing as being in stock, apparently their technical guy who does their website is on holiday, not sure I believe that.

I think my dad may be writing a complaint letter even if we do get the pram, for all the expense in phone calls and stress that I didn't need.

Emma, keep your legs crossed for a little while longer yet lol!!

Anyway off to have lunch as starving now.

Katy xxx

OMG (sorry to post again) but i have just had a bath...was getting out...got half way up and fell strait bk...head totally under the water..and banged the bottom of my bk...not hard but it hurt. there is flippin water all over the show. I am so shaken...and getting dull pains in my bk and front of my stomach now!! So sat down to have my dinner and try and find my bearings. it has scared the shit out of me . I just hope olivia is ok....i think its scared her as well. Not bleading or anything so not to worried...just think I need to kep aneye on her moving etc. xxxx
Show/hide user stats

OMG Emma that sounds really nasty and I'm not surprised that it has really shaken you up.

Keep an eye on Olivia's movements and if you are even the slightest bit concerned then phone your midwife or hospital straight away.

I hope you are both ok and sending loads of hugs to you both. xxx

Oh gosh some stuff has been going on since I was here this morning! Olivia and Kayleigh are persistent little ladies already aren't they?

Paula, I bet you were really worried at the hopsital last night and your poor OH must be shattered at work today - let us know what they say at the scan

Emma, I think you need to go a bit easy and more steady honey, how are you feeling now?

Katy, I am sorry to say I heard some very bad things about Two Left Feet. We went there for our pram consultation and were going to buy from them, but googled them and it came up with lots of bad reviews and since heard bad stuff talking to other people. It sounds to me like they are having cash flow problems. Luckily though, you still have time to get your pram from elsewhere. If I were you I would call them again and say that if the pram is not with you by next friday latest you will instigate a charge back from your credit card company - thank Goodness you paid by c card rather than switch!  I would also tell them that if it isn't here by next friday you will post about them on this website - I would bet money they have the pram in stock but are playing it dodgy with their cash flow and shipping the customers first who shout the loudest. Good luck, but it willl be fine that's the beauty of credit card you really are covered when stuff like this happens.

The breastfeeding class was brilliant. The mw went into quite a lot of detail on the advantages of skin on skin when baby is first born and what to do if the hospital try and get you not to have that or try to get you to bottle feed if you are struggling etc. She gave us her mobile number and said she did home visits if you are struggling. I feel a lot better now as this is something I feel really strongly I want to do and at least I know there is support out there if I end up really stuggling.

Am taking hubby out for dinner tonight to a really nice restaurant. This might be one of the last times we get to go somewhere nice just the 2 of us for a while....

Bye for now, hope you are both OK Paula&Emma xxx

Show/hide user stats

Omg Emma, That wuld ave scared the shit out me too, I just hope your OK and baby Olivia.  That was like me when i fell down those stairs i hurt my back and got badly bruised but baby moved around loads so didnt feel i had to get checked out. So do what your doing hun and keep monitoring her movements and if ur worried Phone hossie!

Well i had my 32 weeks appointment and scan today, It was all going well, baby good size, fluid is fine! and baby is weighing around 4lbs 9 oz at 32 weeks soo they reckon that good weight.  When i got back to clinic for appointment, i felt as if i was guinea pig for the day as a student midwife was there and my normal midwife made her Prod around my tummy for half an hour or so feeling for baby etc and she never had a clue.  Anyways...My urine has Ketones and trace of protein. so there not happy about that! I was also given Iron tablets as iron is low and also my platlets are low so got another blood test to double check before discussing anything about it. But am worried ! So wasnt a good appointment!

Catleyn - Sounds like Kayleigh is getting very impatient in there, hope she stays put!

Everyone else i hope your doing well, i gotta look up low platlets!!!

Take care Nicole x

OMG Paula you must of been so scared hun! I'm glad Kayleigh's staying put today! Your breastfeeding class sounded good. We're covering that off within our anti natal class in a couple of weeks apparently. Got the hospital tour tonight hopefully.

Emma, bless ya. I know what you mean though about getting out the bath right now. I had a bath on Sunday evening and it took me ages to get out. I'm definitly NOT getting into the bath when labour starts despite MW's recommending it - I'll be worried about getting out and in pain too it'll be a nightmare! Hope your back feels better babe. You can take paracetamol to help with the pain.

Katy sorry to hear about your problems with that website. I've never heard of them but Suzie's advice seems pretty good!

All good with us though. Tummy hasn't been rock hard today which was nice! I'm gonna start drinking my rasperberry leaf tea tomorrow - just 1 cup a day to start off with.

Lou x

Nicole, I have iron low platelets as well, it's to do with blood clotting. Do you know the number you have? The recommended is 150-400 I think but they don't get overly worried unless you drop below 100. Mine was always around 140 every blood test but has got up to 152 last time so that was good.

Right gotta go girls speak tomorrow take care all xxx

Evening all,

Emma - Hope everything is ok. I love baths at the minute as they are so relaxing but they are a pain to get in an out off. Hope Olivia is fine

Babydust - When are you suppose to start the RLT? I have read a little about it and was going to give it a try. Enjoy your tour tonight.

Nicole - Sorry your appointment didnt go to well. Try not to worry tho i'm sure you'll be fine. Health ppl aren't the greatest to put your mind at ease.

Suzie - I'm going to give BF a real go too. I have discussed this with my OH and have his full support so we've agreed to give it a real shot for about 6 weeks unless there is any major problems like i'm not producing enough milk.

Katy - Good luck with the pram. Not what you really want to be dealing with at this point in pregnancy. I hope you get it next week.

Well we're back from the hospital. My growth scan show's she is actually measuring 33 weeks  It turns out that because i dont have any fat on my tummy (woohoo!) its all baby which is why i look so small but she is perfectly formed and well hidden in there it would appear! So all is well, lets just hope she decides to stay put now. I've washed all her clothes and packed my hospital bag just in case tho.

Anyway i'm off to put my feet up now cos i feel exhausted.

Take care of yourselves and bumps... not long now till we say babies

Just got back from the hospital tour. Labour ward was so clean and everything looked new which was nice to see! They were dead quiet luckily - didn't really want to hear any women screaming! They have 7 rooms, only one has the birth pool, but all the other rooms have ensuite facilities so you can have a bath there. Towards the end a midwife came in with a placenta. I wasn't sure I wanted to look at first cause I didn't know how I was going to react. I thought I was either going to cry or puck but I was dead proud of myself cause I did neither, even though the thing looked bloody disgusting. It looked like a red jelly fish!

Anyway, I'm off to bed now as I'm dead tired.

Oh sorry Paula, I didn't answer your question. They say you can start taking RLT in your third trimester. I'm 33 + 5 now so I'm going to start with just one cup a day. They've said in our anti natal classes they class you as full term at 37 weeks so I think now is about an ok time to start taking it. By the time I get to 36 weeks I'll upgrade to the tablets I think. x

Morning ladies,

Lou, glad the hospital tour went well. I think you should be really proud of yourself for not pucking or crying when you saw the placenta! I think it would be bad enough to see your own, let alone someone elses.

Paula, glad to hear that they are happy with Kayleigh's growth and good news that you have no fat on your stomach. Your very organised in having your hospital bag packed already. I have thought about it and got most stuff, it is just sitting in the cupboard waiting to be packed. Have you packed things like drinking straws and energy sweets and drinks?

I have washed all little man's clothes so they are all ready to go, it was sooo sweet taking tiny socks and things out of the washing machine and folding everything up!

Nicole, sorry to hear that you appointment didn't go to well. At least they are monitoring you closely. Do you know when you have to have your next blood test?

I had a really bad night last night following the saga with the pram. I have always felt right from the start that little man is going to be early, only a week, but still early and I had a dream that the pram didn't turn up next Friday and then couldn't get one and was getting in a real state about it and then went into labour and still didn't have a pram. I woke up in floods of tears, poor OH had no idea what was going on! I spoke to my Dad this morning and he is going to contact them today and I am going to try somewhere else. Thank god he paid on his credit card as at least we are covered.  Thanks for the advise guys, not sure whether to post a warning on here to others?

Anyway better finish folding some washing up and then go to work.

Back later, take care

Morning All

Katy, I am so sorry you have had such a bad night with worry, It is not worth if for your sanity waiting a week then your Dad is right to cancel it now and see if you can get from somewhere else? Do John Lewis do your pram?

Lou, glad the hospital went well yucky about the placenta!!!!

Paula, wonderful news that Kayleigh is all the right size when you think about it the mws don't really know how thin/fat you were prior to getting pregant so it must be really hard to judge size of baby simply by measuring your tummy. My mw says it also depends how baby is lying compared with the previous week....

Forgot to say yesterday, my reflexologist can start different treatment from 37 wks and work on the points that will release Oxytocin (which is the hormone that gets released in labour) Not sure whether to go for that wk 37 or wait until wk38? I don't really want Squidge coming much before week 40 with him already apparantly on the small side....I mean it does not necessary bring on labour anyway....

I'm gonna buy some raspberry leaf tea in town today so have got that all ready. Lou can't remember what you said can you start tablets earlier than the actual drink or other way round????

Take Care All, Suzie&Squidge xxx

Morning girls!

Well had a rubbish night sleep...my hips and back are killing me after i fell in the damn bath!! gurr.

Suzie- I started the tea drink 2 days ago.....one cup....but once I get to 37wks I think I may try the tablets??? It dont bring labour on hunni...it helps with the 2nd part of labour or summit.

Regarding the hospital bags...I have had mine packed and in the boot of the car since about 32 wks...had so many scares so cant chance it lol.

Gotta clean out the car 2day as we MAY be getting a new car....its a 307..silver and has 5 doors!! woo can get the babys car seat in and out properly!! If not then will still have to put up with the corsa!

xxxx
