Hi,

Not been on for a few days, was my birthday on fri then we went away for the weekend to see some friends for a big bbq and party which was good fun.  Loads of kids there though, all running round getting filthy and squabbling with eack other, quite scary thinking we'll have one of those soon!

Hope you're well.  I bet it was nice to see your girl in the BE mag. I didn't bother renewing my membership this year as it's so bloody expensive, especially for Horace as he's got intermediate points, it all costs a fortune!  My boss thought she's sold her yougster only to be let down again.  They rode him really well and the girl wanted him to event.  They got the british team vet to come and vet him, which took 4 hours as they has everything x rayed and must have cost them over a grand, he passed, and then they changed their minds, is that insane or what?!

I know what you mean about the rain for the schools, we had a new one put in lads summer and the old one topped up and still a year on they aren't great if it's been dry for a while.  We had some more fibres added to them last week and now I think a watering system of some sort is going to be sorted out.  We did have one which was useless so that went back!

Only 2 more days at work and I can't wait!  I have serious bump ache after mucking out now and bouncing around on the tractor emtying the muck and doing the schools doesn't help.  I can't bend and breathe at the same time now as little one keeps putting it's feet under by ribs which is really uncomfy.

Anyway, i'd better go and do something usefull!

hi Gem,

happy birthday for friday

nothing like time wasters to keep you on your toes!

i was lucky this year with BE as i got a years free subscription as i got it as part of the prize for winning the PN champs and they said we could use the free horse reg for next year instead as we didn't have a horse for this year. BE have been really great to use with stuff like that. I can't believe its nearly a year ago already, wheres the time gone?

i'm soo lucky cos all my lot live out, so no mucking out, well until the winter anyway!

Mark (by mistake) made my yearling jump the other day and she hit me full in the stomach, luckily she moved as soon as she came in contact with me or i'd have ended up underneath her, bless her she didn't mean to and Mark was mortified.

Enjoy your last 2 days, give it a week and i bet you'll be missing it!

Take care Jess

Hi,

Most of mine live out all summer too, just got one in who is lame but my god even just doing him was killing me!  I have to say at the moment it's bliss but only finished on Fri and have loads to do and buy so hopefully won't be bored for a while, also as I go up to do my boy i see everyone at the yard everyday and keep up with all the gossip!

Had 34 week midwife appt yesterday and all is ok and baby is head down so hopefully will stay that way now.  It's all getting closer and half of me is terrified the the other half really excited.  Going baby stuff shopping at the weekend as we still have nothing!  All the girls on due sept are talking about packing hospital bags and i have nothing for the baby yet let alone me!

My parents moved recently and are now just half an hour away near bromyard which is nice, near enough to help but not too close that they can drop in without warning!

Hope you and baby are well

Hi Gem

I've nicked hubby's computer as we're off to America in the morning.

Moved all horses this morning so they've got lots of grass while we're away, so they're all happy in fact they didn't want their breakfast, prefering the new grass!

I'm glad your enjoying your time off work and your not bored yet.

Some of the girls on the Nov thread have already packed their hospital bags, i've not even thought about it, but then i'm not the most organised unless i'm off to a competition!

I know how you feel about the mixed feelings i have them now  so i try not to think about it too much.

Anyway i'll say bye for now as i have to be up early.

Take care and speak soon

Jess

Hiya,

Thought I'd pop here to say I had Kamran on Tues 5/08/08 at 3:56pm weighing 7lb 8.5lbs.

Gem you must be about ready to drop now!

Jess I would get your hospital bag packed. I'd literally only just finished packing mine when I went into hospital the first time. Then restocked it the night before I woke up in labour and had to go back!

Natty how've you been? How far are you now? Hope you're well.

Hi,

Saw you'd had baby Nikki, I've been being nosey on Due August to see how you've all been doing.  congratulations, i bet he's gorgeous, hope you are both ok and you're enjoying being a mummy.

I've got 37 + 5 now, so just over 2 weeks to go and getting a bit uncomfy now, I'm still not that big as I'm so tall but i feel like i'm being squashed from the inside now!  I really don't think it will be early though, still not engaged at last midwife visit, seeing her again on weds and have had no braxton hicks or twinges or anything, just horrible back ache, but I've had that since I was 5 months gone!  Just got nursery done and hosp bag is half packed, so at least we're ready now if baby does put in an appearence, oh has money on 10 days late!

Jess, how are you doing?  Did you have a good time in America, where did you go?  I wish we'd had the time (and money!) to go away before baby arrives!

Natty, how are you doing?  You must be must be about 5 months now? Or am I way out with the maths?!

Speak soon girls

Here's my little man. I'm so totally besotted with him! LOL.

I think we all have a nosey on other threads. Nice to know what to expect.
I had Kamran at 38+6 so he was early so you never know Gem....

Had HV today and he's now weighing in at 8lb 5oz! So putting on weight well! He went down to 7lb 2.5oz after he was born so to be 13 days old and that big I must be doing something right! So glad to be breast feeding tho. Don't think I could cope with these night feeds if I had to make bottles up!

Going for breakfast now anyway,
Hope you're all well!

Nikki he's gorgeous, I want mine!!!  I really want to breast feed, glad it's going well for you.  Did it take a while to get the hang of it?

Good to hear from you Jess, I've only got 11 days left, and counting!  I think baby will be late though.  Look forward to hearing from you when you have time to catch up.

Hi Gem,

sorry it's taken a while to reply, had a few bad nights.
It took a couple of days to get properly used to breast feeding, but that's because it's both of us that were learning. I would definitely advise getting some nipple cream if you haven't already. The Lasinoh Lanolin is what I've got and it's an absolute lifesaver. Would probably have given it up by now if it wasn't for that. LOL.

I thought Kamran was going to be late but was suprised to go 8 days early!

Right gonna try for a bit of a kip while Kamran is asleep.
Speak soon,

hello

I'm back!!!!

Gem, can't believe you've only got 11days left. How many weeks were you when you went on mat leave?

I'm still riding, but just the one now as getting tired v.quickly downside is that i get v.bored and find myself cleaning which Marks finds amusing as i not very domesicated and i hate cleaning - but it's nice to see it sooooo tidy, i get in and i have to double check it's my house!!!!

Going shopping on thrus to get last few bits and then i can get hospital bag packed - i'll be organised for once!  then its just Max's room to sort out once Marks finished touring at the end of sept, i'll feel more settled once thats done.

Nikki - cute piccy. sorry to hear you've had a few rough nights, i've made a note - nipple cream! thanks for that. hope its gets easier for you soon.

Right I'm off as starving and tired and farrier day tomorrow so need to get up early to get neddies in.

night all jess

Hi,

Nikki, I already have the nipple cream packed in my hospital bag!!!

Jess, I stopped work at 34 weeks i think. i've actually managed to be busy most days too.  although that included decorating nursery and part of the rest of the house and buying all baby stuff.  Just about organised now, nursery finished and bag packed!  I seem to have something to do or somewhere to go most days and have enjoyed it so far.  Baby due in one week, arghhh!  I really think it wil be late though as it wasn't even engaged at my last midwife appt, although seeing her again next mon and they offer a sweep at 40 weeks if I want one.  Probably will as I really want to use the pool at the hospital and won't be able to if I'm induced so will be doing everything possible to get baby out without induction.

Just got back from a breastfeeding clinic at hereford hosp, I really reccomend it. I was sceptical as to how much use it would be before baby came but it was really interesting, she gave us loads of info, everyone was friendly and we all asked loads of questions. She had us practicing all different positions with dolls to see how they felt.

how are you finding work now?  I can't wait to get back on my horse, although he seems very happy getting fat in the field!

Show/hide user stats

hi Gem

I've put my name down for the breastfeeding clinic so its good to hear thats its useful, i want to give it a good go but i'm trying to stay open minded so that if i struggle then there's always the bottle.

I'm 30 weeks on sat and i'm starting to struggle with tiredness, feel knackered by the time i've fed the horses, etc and ridden Pixie but i've managed to cut back on some of the stuff i was doing so now the other 2 working horses are now expanding their waistbands.

Can't believe you've only got a week left - times flying by. I asked about the pool and get the 'if its free' you can use it - doing birth plan on the 8th sept so will ask again then about it as i'd really like to use it

Going shopping on thrus to get last few bits for max and so i can pack bag MIL thinks i should do it now so i don't have to think about it, she panics more about stuff than i do but it would be nice to get it done esp as can't start nursery untill end of sept so at least if everything else is done it'll be less to think about later on.

Show/hide user stats

I got the same respose when I first asked about the pool but when I did my birth plan she told me if you ring them as soon as you're in Labour and let them know they will keep that room for you so long as nobody else is in it.  I really hope I can use it as I think it's my only chance of coping without an epidural! i've spent so much time in the bath whilst I've been pregnant cos it helps all the aches and pains so much!

Have you been for hospital tour yet?  When I went it was pretty useless as they had so many women in labour they couldn't show us the delivery ward, but at least it all looks clean and all the people seem nice.

Show/hide user stats

Its nice to know its not just me then with the pool, i will definately ask about it again at my next MW visit. I haven't been for a tour yet didn't know you could do that to be honest.

Anyway, its offcial I HATE ELECTRIC FENCING!!!!!  esp first thing in the morning and when the naughty yearling is walking through it without a care in the world as fast as i was putting it up she was strolling through it again! - she's a right madame!!! anyway after shoving the little monster in the stable with the weave grill up i sorted the fencing, luckily MIL turned up so when i turned her back out she switched the fencer on before i let the brat loose, who promptly marched up to the fence to walk through it again, heard the clicking and thought maybe not. She ain't stupid that one and we called her Josie  - well i have to say she a proper little Josephine, i'm just hoping she'll make an eventer as she seems to be very bold, but there not a nasty bone in her body and even though she does young horse things you never feel that shes out to get you, her mother was the same as a 2year old and shes turned out fab so fingers crossed.

Ooops sorry, didn't realise how much i typed

Been shopping today to get the last few bits for Max, so apart from 4/5bits got it all, but i'm knattered from all the trawling round the shops, but bless her MIL payed for it all, we would have got it ourselves eventually but it meant we could get it all in one hit which is nice as we can just concentrate on getting Maxs room done when Marks finished his tours for this summer yay only two more left yay.

Need shower so gonna go before i lost the last tiny bit of motivation i have left!!!

just nipped on here to see how you're getting on.

Hi,

Well I'm still here, baby is now officially late!  I didn't think it would be here on time, just think it's too comfy in there.  Been taking dogs for long walks in an attempt to get some movement, but all that achieves is making my back and pelvis ache.  Oh well, it'll come when it's cooked I suppose.

Part of me really can't wait to meet  baby and het back on my horse and the other part of me is really going to miss my bump, sounds silly as we all complain  about it but I'm so used to feeling it wriggling around inside me it will be odd when it's on the outside.

Getting loads of calls and texts asking if anything has happened, NO!  Do they think we won't tell them?  Maybe we won't, we'll just keep it a secret till I've had it, lol.  Had oh's brother on the phone last night who thought as it was due on the 3rd that's when it would turn up, he was trying to explain it doesn't quite work like that, it doesn't have a calendar in there!

I see the horses are keeping you busy.  I too hate electric fencing, I spend far too much time as part of my job mending the damn stuff, it's such a pain.  Especially when it stops working it takes forever to work out which bit is causing it, we have miles of the stuff!  My horse was quite funny with it when he was younger, there was a new horse in the field next door and he thought it would be amusing to hold onto it by it's headcollar and hold it on the fence so it got shocked but he didn't!  He's a real little bugger, he's got so much character but he's a little sod with it.  Still love him to bits though.  He still looks really wll considering he hasn't been ridden for 4 months.  I'm so looking forward to getting back on, just hope the little sod doesn't deck me!

hope you and baby are well

Gem

i love all our guys even though they're buggers at times!! the little madam has not a nasty bone in her body she just a full of character youngster. Her mum use to unclip the fencer from the battery when she was young and they'd find her where ever she felt like going!

It amazes me people do the has it arrived yet thing, i think i'll tell my lot before we tell you when it happens so don't keep ringing (in a nice way)

I'm missing riding all ready, well maybe not in the pouring rain so i'll be climbing the walls soon. At least got Stage IV care to work towards to keep me busy.

Bet your boy will look at you with shock horror when he sees his tack again (i know ours do) after spending so long being a paddock ornament, i like seeing ours looking well esp this time of year - their a little porky now but with the weather as it is atm i don't worry about it.

I don't think missing your bump sounds silly cos after spending months with it i think your gonna get attached to it, same itcomes with the aches, etc though

Hope your bump decides to arrive soon so at least your back and pelvis won't suffer to much more, my little monster has just started sitting on a nerve with gives me a shooting pain down my leg - not pleasant, only a couple of months left so i think i got off lightly so far.

Take care Jess
