Hello everyone,

I'm looking for suggestions for where I can purchase maternity and nursing bras that offer good support. I'm normally a 36GG cup but at 24 weeks with my first pregnancy I've grown to a 38JJ cup and have so far had no luck at all. I've tried Bravissimo as that's where I normally buy my underwear but the couple of bras they had to offer in my size (you're very limited once you go beyond HH) give no support to the weight of the bust. Am really surprised since I can't be the only Bravissimo customer who's grown a lot during pregnancy (am dreading to see just how big I'll get when my milk comes in...) and scaffolding is needed more than ever! The only bra I've found that seems to do something is one called Jasmine made by Royce, but it squashes the boobs down and out so not only gives an awful shape but is really uncomfortable (and I tried on up to a 40L cup to make sure I wasn't wearing the wrong size).

Are there any good nursing bras out there for bigger sizes? I can't be the only one with a very large bust who's wanting to breastfeed!

I looked at Figleaves but there's only one style in a JJ and the reviews for it are awful (no support) - any websites out there that can help? Have tried the highstreet (John Lewis, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Mothercare) to no avail - at this rate will have to continue wearing underwires and get half undressed everytime I feed my baby!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hiya,

I haven't started looking for nursing bras yet, but I normally have a look on www.simplyyours.co.uk or www.crazyclearance.co.uk (they normally do the same items but reduced).

Hope they have something for you. I know how difficult it is looking for bras in a g let alone bigger!
Good luck,
x

have you tried ebay?

hi curly diamond,

i'm 31+5 and i've gone from a 34G cup to a 36k at mo (JUST ABOUT  FITTING HA HA)!....

sorry to dissapoint you but i'v tried and searched everywhere and they dont do them... the only one is that Royce one which you have found... i bought it but hate wearing it as no support and squashes you(mine is an L cup...so think they are crap sizes to). i went to selfridges in the end and they said i should really wear wired bras for the support...as long as they dont pinch the flesh you are fine...(i bought 2 freya ones and would reccomend the fit of them...lots of support and the balconett ones give great shape) what i also did was bought bra extenders and these have allowed me more wear rather than buy new bras when they got tighter!

i too want to breast feed! and like you will ost prob have to get half undressed to do so but some people i know with small busts have worn normal bras and said they just loosened the straps.. i know its a pain but its are only option i'm afraid! .... you would think in this day and age with womens breasts getting bigger..they would develop nursing bras for us? but then dont think they would provide the support we need... and i for one would rather undress than have boobs by my knees due to a bra that doesn't support me!

if you do manage to find one..let me know.. but to be honest think i've given up plus bras for us are so bloody expensive anyway, so think i'll stick with the ones ive got

take care

lis and pud x x

I'm only 10 weeks is it normal to have gone from 32E to 34F already! The 34F is already far too small! This is my first and not sure when it's normal to wear maternity bra's! x x

Hi Alice, I went from 32FF to 36G by the time I was 11 weeks and had to buy new bras by then. I'm now 28 weeks and wearing 38G but also got bra extenders. I've not been wearing maternity bras as I feel they are too unflattering but Bravissiomo do have a good range for bigger sizes.

Hello all; I'm a 34 EE normally but went up to FF when I was expecting.  I wear balconette shaped bras as I think they give me the best shape, so I stuck with my normal Freya underwired for most of my pregnancy.  Only in the last 8 weeks did I buy maternity bras and then only because the wire was digging into my bump.  They were rubbish I have to say, not very comfortable or supportive and the shape they gave was awful.  Anyway now I'm breastfeeding (Ben is 6 weeks old tomorrow) I've given up hope if finding a bra that fits right; I'm 34 G now!  I can find a few nursing bras to fit, but they are so ugly, the support is CRAP and without exeption they give me mono-boob, something I hate!  I can't beleive that Fraya and other large cup makers haven't tapped into this (excuse the pun) huge market in maternity and nursing bras.  I have to admit that my awful boob is getting me down, it's depressing that my belly is almost back to pre-preggers size but due to mono-boob, you'd never know as I can't get clothes that fit right!

Sorry I've been of no help at all but I needed to rant, good luck with the search...

Love Bev xx

Hello ladies!

Lisa - thanks I thought it was just me not being very good at shopping round - looks like am destined to be mono-boobed and squashed; personally I reckon they don't provide feeding bras in our size because the manufacturers are jealous of our fab boobies and think we should suffer for them! (I do actually like them most of the time but this recent growth is causing issues!).

Where can I buy extenders? Now that I'm 26 weeks my ribcage is expanding (think I'm probably a 40 now) although luckily my boobs have remained at JJ for the last 10 weeks.

Happy hunting!

Hiya Ladies,

Found another site for bigger bras. Less Bounce. They also do the bra extenders on there. They've got the 1 bra in up to a L. Might be some use....

Forgot to say, I have ordered from them and didn't have any problems.
