I've recently noticed that 'special' night time follow on formulas are being advertised.  These drinks which are meant to be used as the last drink before bed cost considerably more than the 'ordinary' follow on milks from the same ranges.  Has anyone tried these night time milks, and are they worth spending the extra money on?  Thanks...

I have just seen these aswell... I think only you can make that decision but I wont be using them.. I never used follow on milk with my other 2 and wont be with this one either.... mine were on cows milk full fat by 9 months max and there is nothing wrong with them.  I dont understand why things are changing... its like the weaning they say not til 6 months old my first was weaned at 21/5 months under the instruction of the HV cause he was a hungry baby!!! there is nothing wrong with him and he isnt obese... i think obesity is in the genes!

sorry I couldnt help you by giving a proper answer but just ask yourself what did we do a couple of years ago before it came out!!

Good Luck x x x

I breast fed my baby exclusivly for 8 months even though I weaned him at 5 1/2. Then he had a mix of breast at night and formula during the day because I was at work.

Well, when I say he had formula during the day what I actually mean is that it was offered but he wouldn't take it (can't blame him it smells horrible). Anyway, the only way I could get any formula volume down him was when he was asleep so started to dream feed him at about 11pm but he still knew it was formula so I ended up throwing most of it away.

I was concerned he wasn't drinking enough so I switched to Cow and Gate Good Night Milk and he will take this as his dream feed. It smells nicer. BUT it doesn't stop him waking in the night so if this is what it's meant to do ....it doesn't for my son.  But it is a nicer mix.

Don't know if that helps.

If you think your baby is hungry before bed you could try a little porridge and then their normal drink.

Thanks, I'm going back to work next week so I'll definitely try that as I could really do with us both getting a good night's sleep before work/nursery...
